I thought about sauteeing some mushrooms (non-magickal) and vidalia onions....think the mushrooms will wilt non-refrigerated from Thurs. morn til brunch?
alrighty, instead of my aforementioned omlettes or snack bars, I have another idea, which struck me as I ate the very same meal tonight.
If you guys think this sounds like a good idea for brunch, let me know. if not, it will probably be fruit salad of some form.
Indi's Sausage-n-Pierogies. Smoked Sausage, sauteed onions, and pierogies, all cooked together in much love. Goes down very well with a breakfast brew, but really suitable for any day.
Whaddya guys think? that's a breakfast of champions rite dere.

I am going to stop by for sure even if I don't camp with everyone. I need to meet some peeps from this internet place. I will bring good company and herbs and seasonings for any food that others bring... ;D
I will likely show, but I don't want to commit to to much since the likelihood that I'll be awake at 9am Friday is very low... Maybe I'll just swing by to say hi as everyone's finishing up.
My nephew just came up with a propane burner for me, so I am on for sure with the cheese grits. I like to make the grits plain with butter and have the grated cheese on the side so you can have as much or as little as you like.
I hope all you guys from the upper states will give them a try if you haven't before. They's real good with some sausage, or bacon and eggs, I promise.
No you don't put sugar on them, they ain't cream of wheat or nuthin'.
Just kidding... some of my favorite eats have lime, cilantro, tomatoes, bananas, and cantaloupes --but not all together in the same bowl. I don't want those foods to feel totally trashed here and not show up at the do.
Thanks and praise to the coffee bringers, by the way. Are you bringing cream and sugar?

HAaaaa, Meg....lol..........I used to really think people who did that were sooo weird, but, I've met some really good people who are sugared-grits-eaters, so, I guess it can't be all that awful of a thing. (Just can't watch anyone pour it on!)
i was born and raised in the south, and have always eaten grits with sugar....no shame in that...they're damn good with sugar and butter....MMMMMMMM MMMMMMM MMMMMMMMM!!!!!

Boz says anyone born, raised or living north of Clarksdale, Mississippi is not Southern. That Clarksdale is ground zero for the blues and that is what is wrong with all of us and why we put sugar in our grits - LMAO

Vinny Gambini: How could it take you five minutes to cook your grits when it takes the entire grit-eating world 20 minutes?
Mr. Tipton: Um... I'm a fast cook, I guess.
Vinny Gambini: [across beside the jury] What? I'm sorry I was over there. Did you just say you were a fast cook? Are we to believe that boiling water soaks into a grit faster in your kitchen than any place on the face of the earth?
Mr. Tipton: I don't know.
Vinny Gambini: Perhaps the laws of physics cease to exist on your stove. Were these magic grits? Did you buy them from the same guy who sold Jack his beanstalk beans?

Well, I've lived in FL (NOT the south) and I've lived in TN (FOREVER the south), and no matter what you put in your grits, they're southern, based on the fact that they're grits. (my husband is from the DC area and swears that no one else eats them)
Meg, hon, at least you eat grits! I'm from ALABAMA...and the only way I will eat grits is with TONS of cheese, rotel tomatos, peppers, onions, and everything but the kitchen sink thrown in, baked and topped with shrimp! Your sugar is fine.....
