Wow, this sounds amazing, guys! It's so cool that everyone can get together for this! Question, do you have to be in VIP do participate? If not, then I would totally be down for bringing some bagels and cream cheese or something like that.

Hi clovercalgone,
Welcome to the board.
The brunch is in Tent Only. That's in general admission and anyone can camp/visit that part of Roo. Even VIPers.

awesome , that sounds fun! Go ahead and count me in for now! I'll probably bring some friends as well, about 5, maybe. And I can bring some bagels and cream cheese and possibly bake something to bring!
How about coffee? I'll bring coffee and a couple coffee pots (percolators) if there's room on someone's stove. My stove will be busy with sausage and gravy.
I'll be making REAL coffee. I'll have plenty of ground coffee but my two pots only hold about 4-5 cups each (they are listed a 8 cup Percs) and percolators take alittle while to perc. Plus I have a one burner stove which will be used for gravy during the brunch. If we have access to electricty we could bring a coffee maker which is quicker.
You may want to bring some instant as we could easily boil a big pot of water.
Either way. I'll be brewing at least one pot every morning.

OK, I just noticed (for the first time) that we actually have a menu! Since Troo and I have volunteered southern biscuits & gravy, I need to get with you Troo. I know you can pre-cook the gravy, but I will have to pick up the biscuits Thursday on the way in and keep 'em fresh for Friday morning. Any suggestions?
I'm still deciding whether to precook the gravy or make it there. As for biscuits, I don't know. If you can get them fresh and keep them tightly sealed in plastic, that's probably the best you can do.
Couple of hints: Don't leave in the sun as the moisture will evaporate out. Don't refrigerate as refrigeration makes bread get stale (it crystalizes the starch.) So no really cold cooler. a slightly cool or room temp cooler is best but this is Roo so just do the best you can. Good gravy makes even bad biscuits good.
Sorry if I sound "preachy" I just cook a lot so I may overdo the advice thing.

I know this has probably been asked already, but are you guys that are staying in the "tent only inforoo campsite" going to be there so I can meet you on Thursday?
My boyfriend and I may swing by either Thursday night or Friday morning...we won't eat at the brunch (cause it looks as if everyone is bringing everything there is to bring), so we'll probably just come to say hi.

There's nothing in this world better than Southern cooking!! HappyBunny has me down for grilled cheese' so if we have room, I can bring my 2 burner propane stove and cook on site and you can use it for fresh gravy, if you want.

Sorry, but I'm gonna have to withdraw my contribution. I've decided not to bring my cooking gear (only so much room on a motorcycle), so frying up chorizo's is out.
Troo...ok, I will pick up biscuits Thursday morning on the way to Roo and keep them safe until the brunch. Do you have a fav biscuit? Mrs. Winners is one of my favorites. Or I could buy the Pillsbury Southern Style and bake them Wednesday night. BTW, I appreciate all your advice.
I like any biscuits but store bought are generally better than canned. And you can pick them up as you get close to Roo. But it's your money and your choice. Do what works best for you, brother. Can't wait to see ya there.
ok - the battle of the biscuits - I may have to make a pan of biscuits to bring and see if I can keep them fresh for Friday morning. After all - one thing Southerners do right - biscuits
You got that right Megan!! Unfortunately, just like Rachel Ray, I do not bake! I know how to preheat an oven and I can tell when the biscuits are ready, but everytime I've tried to do biscuits from scratch they turn out like hockey pucks. Not good eats.
^well then I know I have to bake a batch to bring - if I double it - there should be about 18 decent size biscuits - the key will be keeping them fresh until Friday because I will have to bake them Wednesday morning
