~250, and i'll probably be bringing most of it home, like last year!
me too! i brought about $300 last year, and still had plenty left over when i returned. and i pretty much bought all my food the entire time - not to mention some nifty souveniers!
I took about $100 last year, but I ended up hitting the ATM twice, for small amounts each time. This year, I am thinking about $150 to spend at roo if I want it, and maybe some extra cash for take home favors.
im so happy i read this thread. iv been worrying about how much money to bring and i dont have a credit card so if i run out of money im screwed but this thread makes me feel better
but i know i will be getting unmentionables too and souveniers so thanks
i normally only buy dinners in centeroo cause it's to hot for me to get hungry, so i just bring energy bars in my bag to snack on. then some cash for stufffff, so i'd say about $250ish.

Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
the more I think about it the more I want to bring extra cash.. I mean, I want to be prepared for whatever comes up. I'm sure i'll bring lots home but.. better than being caught trying to find a working ATM without a line in a "crisis"

plus, you definitely wouldn't want to use the atm after like 4-5pm. once the sun starts setting and it gets darker, i always see some seriously shady people hanging around atms at various shows/festivals i've been to (i didn't use 'roo's atms last year so this might not apply here but...)

It's always a good idea to bring some extra cash, just in case! If you don't spend it, you will still have it! If you need it it, you'll be glad you have it! You CAN NOT count on the ATMs at Roo! Not only are there long lines but, they often run out of cash! They are not reliable at all!

I am already planning on taking the money that my friend owes me for his ticket, and then I have started a little savings at the house with all of the one dollar bills I get or random five dollar bills. So far in one month I have a little over 70 saved so I am hoping to have double that in ones by the time of roo. So all in all I will probably have 400 available and then an emergency stash in the car for worst case scenario.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
I'm going to bring $250. That's all I can really afford to take because I am saving to buy a car this summer. I'm going to try to spend less than $25 a day on Centeroo drinks and food, which I think is doable because we are bringing plenty, but I know that I will want to buy stuff too when I don't want to go back to camp. That leaves me $150 for a souvenier and snacks of the unmentionable variety. I think (hope!) that will be plenty.
