I'm in the same boat as you man, I get my tax return direct deposited sometime just before Bonnaroo or during it, so I'll be right with ya at the ATM line! ;D

I never had a problem with them last year - used them 3 times - longest I wauted was behind two poepl - so it was not bad at all - but I have heard that there can be long lines and that they do run out of cash

hah, i'm PRAYING my request for direct deposit goes through and I get money in my checking account during roo... if best buy could do that for me, that would be a HUGE relief. But, then again, it's best buy i'm talking about :/

The way DD usually works is, they must do a "trial" deposit before Direct Deposit starts working fully.. Do you know if this has happened yet?
If not, explain your situation and see if payroll can give you a post-dated check so you can take it with you.. I'm not sure about TN, but in Maryland you can cash payroll checks at a lot of liquor stores and marts.

I've used the atms at least once all three Bonnaroos I've been to. I've never waited in a line, I've never walked up to one that was broke, nor found one out of money.

I remember last year there was a whole line of atms, but a few people were only in line for one of them. I thought I was being clever by going to one with no line - put in my card and it said it was out of money. Then I made the walk of shame to the atm with the line. Spent my time waiting watching people doing the exact same thing I just did.

Well, I'm not sure, ha. I signed up for it last week, and some of my fellow associates have told me it has taken less than a pay period (two weeks) or even up to 2 pay periods to get settled. Until the direct deposit gets set up, I'll still have my checks in the store, but since they're dated for cashing on certain days, I don't know if they'll be able to do it for me. It's all good though.. I plan on bringing $350 or so cash with me! Thanks for the help though! Karma karma karma to you! ;D

Ouch. If you want to ground-score cash and other goodies, just follow me around. My buddy loses everything at every festival we attend. He sits down, rummages through his pockets to see what's in there, puts it on the ground, gets distracted and leaves. Happens every year.

I am glad nobody has had a problem with the ATMs. I was reading elsewhere that they were often out of money or broken. I was nagging my boyfriend to take money out of savings because we don't get paid until Friday..
