yeah man we have one, used it at last years roo. surprisingly works extremely well, and we even locked it up in the trunk when we went to centeroo. my advice would be to invest in one, they are magnificent
We had one last year...worked really well. We refilled the ice once, but we also kept it in the car all weekend, which was obviously hot. I think that if we kept it under the car, it would have stayed icy all four days.
I brought two 5 day coolers with me last year. It was only for me and my girlfriend but we went on a week long camping trip after roo. I packed beer and frozen water bottles in both so I could use one and keep the other closed the whole time until I needed it. I left Jacksonville, FL on wednesday afternoon with the coolers packed and put one more bag of ice to top off on thursday morning from the hotel. I didn't open the second cooler until saturday afternoon and it looked just like I had left it, ice on top and everything, but it was never opened. The first cooler was looking like mostly water by saturday, but still frozen water bottles so the water in the cooler was still ice cold. During our camping travels we still had frozen water until the wednesday after, although we were adding more ice frequently. 5 day coolers are amazing, but freezing your water is like a full proof systems for those things to keep them cold.
The coleman 5 day coolers are great we have a big one .. but i did see that now they have a 7 day cooler .. they look even better . that will be our next cooler purchase

We always bring a (Coleman) 5 day cooler to Roo. It works surprisingly well considering the intense, hellish Tennessee heat. I'm sure that most of you already know this but, here's a couple of tips for any of the new folks: 1.) Freeze your water bottles ahead of time. This keeps everything quite cold, saves cooler space and spares you the 3-6 dollar charge for ice. 2.) Bring a smaller cooler along too. This way you can stage a good deal of water, beer and snacks in the smaller one every morning. Then you don't have to keep opening the "deep freeze" cooler everytime you need something.
Like I said, this is common knowledge to many of you but, maybe it can help the first-timers out.
With my only addition being that I have an Igloo 5 day, which has performed as well as the Coleman in a side by side test over the last couple years. After good shoes, perhaps the best single piece of equipment for Bonnaroo !

I had a Coleman 5 Day 70 Quart cooler and a couple of regular coleman coolers. First of all the 5 day did have to be filled once a day but we were in and out of it ALL the time putting ice cold beverages into it all the time. No Biggie to purchase ice once a day and dump it in. This did leave it filled with ice all weekend. The other coolers were rippling with warm water after about half a day at Bonnaroo and they weren't opened at all. This upcoming Roo, I'll be purchasing one more cooler and it will be the 7 day Coleman. Most definitely the best investment besides the Bonnaroo tickets and the party favors I got.......
I was looking into buying a 5 day cooler for next year, and discovered that Coleman has a 7 day cooler now. Anyone know anything about those? Are they worth the extra cost?
We have a Coleman 5 day , I also saw the "new" 7 day one ... The 5 day did great at Roo last year we still had frozen water bottles in it when we got home .... Although I might pick -up a 7 day one also , They do look nice . One can never have too many good coolers .
buy one bag of ice, pour into bottom of cooler buy one block of dry ice, wrap in towel, and put on top of ice put a bunch of frozen water bottles in next then beer then more ice and water bottles
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
fyi - for the folks in VIP, they do deliver ice on occasion, so if you dont have a 5 day cooler, you will still probably be okay... that said, i think im going to get one.
I think the 5-day would have been perfect if we didn't keep going into it all the time. We brought a smaller cooler for the purpose of having that one be opened all the time but it didn't work out for us (kept running out of beer). We'll plan better this year.
I'm officially getting a 5 day cooler, but not sure what size to get. The 100qt seems like overkill. Do you think the 70qt is the way to go? Looks like I'll be ordering this online and I'm not skilled at estimating size
The 70qt will be plenty... something that people forget is getting the darn thing out of your car... they can get really heavy... plus it takes more ice to fill up the bigger one.
How many people? We were thinking of the 62 qt. or 70 qt. for two. And maybe a smaller one that will be used for daily storage (to minimize melt in the bigger cooler). 100 qt. seems huge. And why did they put wheels only on the 62 qt. size?
I would avoid all oddly shaped coolers. We have one and are going to ditch it and get a normal one. It takes up too much room and you can't pack things properly. And it does have wheels, which are totally stupid and worthless.
