I love that Skirt! Definitely bring it to the Roo. As for the quilt, all you need is old clothing you don't use anymore to make quilts. The lettering etc are just ironed on to the fabric with "Double Back Fusing" then I sew around the letters each like a hockey sweater stitch. Its so easy. The quilt with the hands was the best! I love that quilt and its actually so big its for a King sized Bed. I finish the top, with the patches etc, lettering, etc, and with that one, I used an old quilt and sewed it onto it. That way I never waste an old quilt which isn't good anymore. Everything is recyclable. The material I purchased at a Walmart when it was going out of business and that whole "Hands of Peace" cost me 33 dollars total. If you would like further details on how I did it, please don't hesitate to pm me!

My first 2 Bonnaroos taught me a lot. As far as fashion goes, here's what I learned:
Bras: Yes. I don't know about the rest of you "generously endowed" women, but for me, walking around with unrestrained d-cups lead to more of a sweaty, gross feeling, and gave me extra back pain.
Skirts: Yes. Yes. Yes. I don't think I'd honestly wear pants at bonnaroo again, unless it was unseasonably cold. I brought pants the first year, and only one skirt, and boy did I regret it. I'm completely with Cupcake on this one. Although, without pants, make sure you've got baby powder/Goldbond.
Shoes: I wear my trusty Tevas. I know a lot of you prefer Crocs, but I live in my tevas from the last spring frost to the first fall frost. I've had the same pair since '04, and I'm only going to replace them because I've flattened the arch support from prolonged wear. Otherwise, they're still in decent shape. If I could, I'd wear my Tevas forever!
The biggest lesson I learned though, was to bring a cotton tapestry/bedspread and use it as a wrap. Instant shade/protection from the sun, which was essential after the horrible sunburn I got the first day. ("It's only 8 am, who needs sunblock so early?") Also, should you catch a chill at night, it helps keep you warm. I tried using an umbrella the next year, but didn't like it nearly as much. The tapestry becomes your ground cloth, your warmth, your shade, and I wouldn't do this year without one.
OMG That is too cute! I'm ogling over the cupcake, and its yellow which means its probably lemon (My FAV!!) and then I see it, ITS GOT A SMILEY FACE! OMG I love it! I wish I had a kewl avatar like that one...... All I got are these shrooms...... hmmm "Things that make you go hmm"
Ok just sifting through fred flare. I love that Black Gracie coat! That would look so nice when hubby takes me out for a nice romantic din din.........
MMMM hope they are as edible as the others!! hehehe ROFL
Ughhh trying to get my trip to France booked online! I am going to leave it to the travel company that my company uses! Right before I go to Roo, I have to fly to Marseilles for a conference!! It will be welcome to get to Roo and kick back for sure after being at a conference!!

i am so happy to see this thread for the new year! last year i absolutly loved my crocs! my feet never once hurt or had blisters. i cant remember now, but whoever told about the shorts from junoa.com or something like that, a million karma points b/c those shorts saved my life! i learned however to bring only cotton bras and non denim pants. jeans were no fun to put on at night all screwed up and in a little tent
and soulmate when you start working on your panels for your shade tent you def. have to put up pictures b.c i was so uber jealous of your quilts you put up last year.

Definitely. Last year, right at the last minute I grabbed a large cotton sheet off my bed, thinking I would just use it in the car while I was taking a nap or in the tent at night. We ended up bringing it everywhere. Those things are versatile!
I'm a huge fan of TEVA's but I've never tried crocs so I might bring them this year.
I basically lived in bikini tops the whole time. I had a couple of tank tops that have built in cups (not the stretch band of bra). They were good until they got wet and stretched.
I made one huge mistake - parachute-ish material shorts. I thought they would be the best because they dry so quickly. Instead, they just clung to me and kind of stretched a little.
I didn't even think to bring dresses/skirts last year, but I'm taking everyone's advice and packing a few of them.
Tevas last year, but bringing Crocs also in case of rain, this year.

Amazing how quickly that sun gets hot and dangerous, there. I'm not sure how many of you normally put on moisturizer or body lotion after you shower, but I just switched out sunblock lotion for that, during Bonnaroo, even though I showered as the sun was going down. Also just put it on, as a matter of course, before I dressed to head out for the day. You can never tell what part of your body will end up exposed, as your clothes move during the day. Put it everywhere, and you won't have to worry. Take along spray on-sunblock in your bag; dirt/dust and lotion don't mix. I barely even tanned, doing that last year, despite the blazing sun. Sure, I used a lot of extra sunblock, but I wasn't miserable.
Yeah I received the tip to buy the Neutrogena spray on and I want to say this: To the person who suggested that, you are a god send!! Its Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Mist Body sunblock (SPF 45) That stuff worked wonders!
And for all the new people to Roo, make sure you bring a battery operated fan that has water spray attached. Its a definite must! I praised the people who every so often squirted me!
I also adored the spray sunscreen - so easy to put on, no need to rub it in with all the dust stuck to you... I only got a tiny bit burned on the back of the neck but was otherwise fine because of the spray sunscreen.
Our grocery had those misting fans for like $6 so we got one. LOVED it, and helped us make new friends!
I loveeeeeed the spray on sunblock. It worked awesome. We didn't get to roo until like 5pm on thursday and I didn't put on any that day and got a little burned So remember to put it on especially when you're waiting in line for 5 hours and then setting up your tent.
This might seem like overkill, but I put on waterproof sunblock after showering, then carry the spray on sunblock with me to reapply. I've found I can mist myself and not get burned if I do it that way. Another thing I brought along was a wet washcloth in a ziploc to wipe my face. It's amazing how much power a rag holds!

What a great idea! I'm adding it to my list
I always put a bunch of baby wipes in a ziploc bag and tossed them in my bag, each morning before I left the campsite. Freshens your face. A new one each time you reach in, so no dusty buildup. I actually keep the used ones, after they dry, for porta-potty paper. Might not be quite as environmentally friendly as a washcloth, but then I wouldn't use a washcloth for the porta-potty!
Yeah I've always carried faceclothes in Ziplock Baggies. Thats an old golf trick I learned from my Mother in Law. I would put Ice into the Baggie at Roo. We also kept ziplock baggies with faceclothes in the Cooler at all times. It was nice to come back from Centeroo and have a cold cloth handy!!
Also ladies, this isn't fashion minded at all but we bought a can of Lime Gatorade Crystals. THAT WAS THE BEST! when I was feeling Woozey from the heat, I'd make up a few bottles and drink them down. I highly reccomend the Gatorade crystals!
