so i've been reading alot on this site and decided to join, wo here is my second post!
last year was my first time to bonnaroo and here are my clothing tips. -bathing suit tops! i wore them every day instead of bras, they were cooler and i could just take off my tank top if it was REALLY hot - as a girl who gets major thigh chaffe i was worried about this the most, especially since i love my flowy skirts. I discovered that cotton bermuda shorts/capris worked wonders. They stayed really cool and I could wear them under my skirts (or with no skirt). I had a pair i LOVED from Old Navy but my dog decided to eat them. - my feet really didnt bother me as much as i thought they would. I wore reefs last year but I think I'll try my mary jane crocs this go around. - My hair is very long, dry and kind of curly/wavy so i just left it up the whole time and dont think I even touched it haha it was nice to not worry. -as far as makeup goes, I live by mascara and I honestly dont think I wore any after the first day. I DID however wear a little liquid bronzer just for a little prettyness. Chanel liquid bronzer is fantastic, just dab a little on your cheeks. It looks really great. -just make sure to bring a nice variety because you never know what the conditions are going to be or what you will end up feeling like wearing that day!
I'll chime in about the makeup thing: I never go anywhere without eyeliner on, and I didn't wear a stitch of makeup at 'Roo. I just stopped caring. Plus, I wore sunglasseses 99% of the time during the day so they were my built in makeup But then, of course, I got pretty weird tan lines - I looked like a reverse raccoon!

I normally wear bare minerals, eyeliner, lipgloss and mascara.
At Roo I just put some eyeliner on (I feel naked without it), but it is MAC and it doesn't smudge or run so I don't have to worry about having black eyes And I always have chapstick with me also.
i never even leave my apartment without putting my face on first (my makeup lol) i'm a firm believer in cover-up and a bit of blush to even things out and bring a bit of sparkle.... HOWEVER... i didn't even care for a single second at bonnaroo and it felt AMAZING!!! shoulder length hair was easy to put up and with a stretchy headband i was ready to go... i def agree with the sunglasses, all i needed!!
And for those who hope to get a little sun... do know you can get a LOT of color even with a high SPF. Don't chance ruining your Roo with a sunburn. I wore a minimum of SPF 30 the entire time at Bonnaroo and my color before I left: whatsmywardrobetoday.blogspot.com/2007/06/tuesday_12.html

my face tan lines were ridiculous, too! I didn't care at all at the time, but this year I think I'm going to try to find sunglasses that are a little more narrow across the bridge of my nose. That's the only part that really bothered me. I like having big over my eyes to protect the skin there.
I saw this in another thread and am so amazed that I wanted to make sure all you girls see it. It's No Rinse bathing products. They have shampoo. body wask, and wipes. You just lther up and then towel off-I'm definately getting this. Here's the link norinse.com/index.htm
ok so i know there are a lot of people that thinks all crocs are ugly, but i got this pair a while back for a trip and not only did they go with most of my outfits they saved my feet. yay crocs.
They make bandanas, headbands, hats, etc that are all supposed to keep you cool all day. You soak them in water for 20-30 minutes and then wear em! I'm thinking about getting the neck bandana and maybe the floppy gardening hat. B/c I love wearing a hat to keep my face in the shade but then my head gets so hot!
I have one of those bandanas. They do get cool, but it doesn't last nearly as long as you'd thik. they have this gelly stuff in them that plumps up when they are wet, so they don't lay flat when you wear it. And they are extremely slimey. I hate mine and never use it
Roobeedoo, I saw those chairs last year! Bet I saw you, too. I lucked out at some point during the year and snagged one at Target (probably a floor model) for $5. No clue how the price got so low, unless someone forgot to put a "1" or a "2" before the rest of the price. Hey, I didn't argue!
Sparklybecca, I like your new avatar. Very pretty!
Ticktrix, thanks for the link to the YouTube on Karizas. I'll have to check that out later. Karma to you!
Ive enjoyed reading all the tips etc for dressing etc this year. I was a newbie last year too, and managed to get away with a bathing suit top/ tank/and shorts everyday. i also am relieved to hear what ladies did for under their skirts! It never occured to me to wear like, biking shorts... last year, i just wandered around feeling bad for all the girls in skirts thinking,"man they have GOT to be chaffy under there..." Now i have hope that i too, can sport the 'roo skirt this year!
makeup - neva!!! i never leave the house without it, but i didnt even bring it last year. it was fab.
Hats - I wore a visor all year last year. It's a "low-rise" visor that i got back in '01. the band at the top is only maybe 1/2 an inch. So its really little, and non-intrusive on the hair-do (pigtails, bun, ponytail, etc). When I felt like i needed some sun on my face, i swirled it around to cover up my neck. Or put a wet t-shirt on my head to cover/cool my neck and put the hat on top...
now that i think about it - it's hard being cute at bonnaroo!

I wasn't a skinny minnie at all last year (size 14) and I wore skirts without shorts underneath and I didn't have any chafing problems. A little sticking together, yes, but no big deal. For some its worse than others, I suppose. Its just too hot to wear multiple garments IMO!
75 lbs? You're so funny, Sass! Karma for the compliment, though ;D
I got the bag on sale from REI last year. I really like it, but wish it was a tad bigger because my camera is kind of bulky, but I made it work last year. Oh, and it has dragonflies on it - my favorite! The tags on the bag say, "www.reignvermont.com, Waitsfield, Vermont".
edit - I just checked that website and you can buy the bags direct from Reign Vermont. They have different styles and patterns. Prices are decent.
