What are you ladies packing all of these wonderful Bonnaroo fashions in? Suitcase? Duffel bag? I was thinking about using one of those Rubbermaid storage tote deals, but there may not be room for that :/
Hey! And personally, I'm packing in duffel bags. I'll have a very large one for clothes and a smaller one for undergarments and other personal stuff (anything related to my wellbeing-- hygiene items, first aid items, etc.). But I'm not packing dresses (...actually I may be packing one. I've been inspired to give it a shot!) so the advice of someone who is may be more helpful, if you're planning on rocking dresses the whole time.
I've got an equal number of dresses and non-dresses...I like to have options
Last year I only wore dresses and just packed them in a duffel bag with all my husband's clothes. Rolling was the key - they are cotton dresses and I was worried about wrinkles. LOL Those wrinkle worries were out the window after I realized how hot it was. The wrinkles almost "steamed" themselves out thanks to my sweat and the heat
I feel ridiculous admitting it, but I'm a little concerned about wrinkles! I'm glad I wont have too much to worry about
Soo, I think I may have posted something before, but let's just call this my official first post in the GFT, okay

I'm using a weekender tote that I usually use as a carryon bag on flights. It's big enough to hold all of my stuff but small enough not to take up a lot of space or be obtrusive.
Ladies, I just finished packing for Wakarusa and let me tell you... 1. It takes forever to pack when you have to try everything on. 2. Cold weather means twice as much stuff! And jeans and sweatshirts take up a ton of room!

I have something very similar to this. Last year was the first year I brought it to Roo and I like it so much better than a duffel bag. It's so easy to find what you're looking for in it.
I am taking Rubbermaid containers...although I do have a trunk like that from the 8 years of summer camps growing up. Lol...thanx mom and dad;) Want to make sure whatever it is that it protects from water. My first thought.

Duffel bag. Ze gym bag doubles as ze fest bag I travel many moons to get to Roo, so it has to be soft and mushy to get jammed in some corner of the car.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

The "what do I pack all these things IN?!" issue is one of the big things I still need to solve, even after this many Roos. I always just use a giant duffel bag. Or roll bag, maybe - I say duffel bag but my mom insists that a duffel bag is different and what I mean is a roll bag, so I don't know if this is a generational thing or if I'm just wrong.
BUT I sort of hate it. Everything just goes all over and I can never find anything without making a mess of everything, and then it becomes even more impossible to find things. So I really do need some better solution for this issue.
I was just going to bring a duffel bag or two, myself. I feel like I'm probably going to make a huge mess of my stuff anyway so whatevs. I'll probably try to "separate" my outfits somehow so I don't have to dig through a pile of skirts, shirts, bras, etc. each day. After all, I did buy certain items specifically with coordination in mind!
My pressing question: how is everyone packing their Rootus? I saw pepper mention fitting them into a sock or pantyhose but I feel like mine won't compress down that much?!?! Maybe I need to have more faith, or just grab a bunch of rubber bands from work.
p.s. I tried my pStyle today and OMG I think that is right up there with the Camelbak and battery-powered fan for most useful purchases.

I think I've always just sort of crammed mine into my bag somewhere. That's why it's so crinkly now, haha. Mine is for some reason rather unpoofy compared to a lot of the ones I've seen, so I'm sure it's a little easier to pack. Rubber bands might work. Or maybe like...wrap a strip of paper around it in a couple places and tape the end of the strip to itself? That would be harder to repack though. Hmm. Scrunchies could also be useful since I feel like rubber bands might sort of tangle up in it. If you still HAVE scrunchies, that is.
I think I need to get myself a pStyle eventually. Actually Ed even mentioned it last night - I was saying something about portos and he goes "do you want one of those...devices?"

i'm starting to figure out what outfits i'm wearing each day.. its so hard.!!! and fun at the same time! i just hope i like them when i'm on the farm ahahaha.
I just bought a pair of these today at a local sporting goods store for $30. A different brand, but Super Comfortable and highly recommend for those who, like me, just cant bring themselves to wear real sneakers or boots (they just don't look right with cute summer dresses!). Over the past few Roo's I've learned the hard way: wear a THICK pair of sandals with lots of cushion and make sure you break them in properly! Also be cautious buying a pair where the thong of the sandal is kept there by a piece of circular plastic you can see on the bottom of the shoe. You know which ones I'm talking about. They always break. Anyway, I always bring cushy, neutral flats with me for when my feet start to hurt/if I start getting blisters, and especially if I know I'm going to be smack dab in the middle of a pit or rave (flip flops get ripped off easily in a crowd). Someone mentioned they were leaving their rain-boots at home. Don't. In '10 there was a very brief bout of rain once or twice during the weekend that created massive patches of mud in high traffic areas. I saw many loose a shoe or two in these. This is how I've kept my feet happy and avoided looking unfashionable.
But I also wanted to throw a question out for you girlies with long hair. I've been growing my hair out to donate for about 3 years now and it's almost waist-length. Last year I had a friend french braid it wet for me in the morning, but since my hair is a curly, frizzy, and unruly mess it didn't last for more than a few hours (plus she's not coming this year ) I'm stuck in a conundrum: if i cut my hair it might be too short to put in a ponytail (donating requires 10inches minimum), or if I leave it I will have a wild hot mess on my hands. Any suggestions on what I should do? And how do you keep your hair looking fresh and out of the way all day (especially for long hairstyles)? I'm desperate, I'm about to go to my hairdresser and tell her to cornrow my hair to my head lol.
Suburban^^ I have super long hair as well and fests can be HOT. Honestly, I don't think there's really one thing you can do with it to keep it "out of the way" the whole time besides just throwing it up, or braiding it. I just braid mine and then roll it up into a bun. It might not last alll weekend, but I can fix it when it starts to get unruly. I have thick curly hair too..
OR you can find one of our wonderful ladies that knows how to french braid and ask them to do it? ;D sadly, I must've missed that class in girl scouts or something because I have absolutely no idea how people french braid. haha, but I would say just bring hair ties, and if you can braid it and just pin it up, maybe you'll make it through.
Oh man, I scored a plain white 100% cotton dress at Wal-Mart today... cannot wait to tie dye it!!
THIS! I just went to walmart yesterday, and found my tie dye kit and bought shirts to do for our group! I wish I could've found a dress! That would've been perfect! I was going to get the guys boxers and dye them some, hahaha. But that's what I'm doing this weekend! Tie dye city in my backyard ;D

I'm thinking of getting some Ziploc Big Bags and using them to separate whole outfits- underwear, accessories and all. Is that too much? Probably.

I totally anticipate putting outfits together and then hating them when I go to actually wear them...happens every time...

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking of doing! Type A personality high five
It always seems that my packing job before I leave Roo is so nice and pretty and organized. 1 day into Roo, I'm lucky if I can even find my toothbrush. Point being, pack stuff where you are SURE you'll be able to find it. If that means putting everything into it's own categorized bag or just one big bag for everything so you know it's obviously in that bag, more power to you. It's funny how unorganized you can become when you're getting dress in a hot, steamy tent!

This sounds exactly like me! I always have my outfits planned out but when it comes time to wear them, I don't like them anymore! I guess that's why I'm a chronic overpacker...I know myself all too well!
Any advice if we get rain? I don't usually think about it but one of the forecasts I saw is calling for rain 3 out of 4 days. Kinda kills my sandals all weekend idea.
