Welcome Yes, get some anti chafing gel! It does work. You could also get some bicycle shorts or men's boxer briefs to keep your thighs from touching. As far as the bathing suit top goes, you are not going to want to wash it at night when there's so much going on so you'll want to bring more than one for sure.

I figured I could alternate between tanks and my swim top. So the bike shorts aren't uncomfortable? I am afraid of getting hot and winding up with swamp butt.
Welcome new-comers! <3 I definitely take Body Glide, AND Gold Bond. I even take the little $1 bottle of gold bond into Centeroo with me all day, just refill from a giant bottle back at camp when I need to. Powder in your shoes and in all the chafey places will save you at Roo!!

Awesome! I found a couple of skirts I really want to get! Do you girls do your make up for the day? I know makeup forever brand has water proof makeup that is awesome.
Also, any of you super fair? I have a light complexion and brightly colored tattoos....what do you think I should do about sun protection? I'm terrified of getting burned and being miserable!!

Gwahh, I'm a makeup artist. I feel naked without it, lol. I'm not doing a foundation, probably just some mascara and lip gloss. But late night shows--- you best believe I'm going to be painted up! I'm pumped for passion pit!
i wear a little bit of makeup at roo: waterproof masacra, eyebrow stuff and sometimes makeup forever concealer if i have a big zit. you can pull some off, just not a full face and you will have to touch up throughout the day.

My friend that comes with me is SUPER pale and uses 100 spf Neutrogena spray sunscreen and has never burned. She re-applies a few times during the day usually just to make sure. I use spf 30 or 45 of the same stuff but I have a darker skin tone.

I figured. Have you tried a bb cream Or maybe a tinted moisturizer? I don't sweat that much normally, I figured I could get away with a little bit of cover up. Also, stila has this amazing waterproof liquid eyeliner. I've worn it through the summer, working events outside, or just dancing like crazy at a show and it still stays on.
I also found some cute (kinda, it's Almost impossible.) crocs online that I want for bonnaroo. They look kinda like cute flats / maryjanes. Anyone have any experience with these? The reviews were all good.
Hey girls!! First time roo'er over here! I'm very excited about my first trip to the farm. I'm already planning my outfits to bring and what sort of shoes.... I got a new swim top I'll probably wear most the time and clean it in the evenings before the night shows. I also have tons of waterproof makeup I am bringing. I can't enjoy something unless I'm feeling confident about how I look. So, my question is- since my outfits mostly revolve around high waisted flowy skirts, have any of you used than anti chaffing stuff to put on your thighs? I hate chafing and ill be miserable if I have to wear pants. Does it actually work? I am a curvy girl, gotta protect my thighs!!
You sound like me... I'll have on a flowy skirt or a shorter dress all the days I'm there- actually just bought a few new ones plus I have this great handmade 70s era one I plan to bring. I can't wear pants or even shorts in the summer, so something to stop chafing is a must-remember for my list!
And I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels naked without makeup... It is just a thing with me. I always have to wear it. Even if I am baking in the sun. I figure on finding a foundation that is both SPF and waterproof (I usually wear Rimmel otherwise but if anyone has a recommendation toss it my way!).

I know bare minerals has SPF in it- but If you're a sweater it might streak. I know a couple of full coverage is water resistant but could be too heavy for really hot days. I'll probably put my sunscreen over my makeup, like the spray kind so it doesn't rub into what I'm wearing. I think I'll bring a BB cream bc it's more coverage than a tinted moisturizer but not very thick. Or maybe the naked foundation by urban decay. It's super flexible and breathable, beautiful finish and coverage, but light. It might have SPF in it too. But remember, sunscreen has to be reapplied every two hours for protection. Sephora also sells these little sunscreen wipes- that's an option too! (I work at sephora; I could bring you all some samples to use as bonnaroooooo!)

I'll have to look into Urban Decay- and I know nothing of Sephora so if you work there and have any products to recommend please let me know! I have pretty fair skin so trying to look decent but not burn is going to be a challenge. One would think living in central Florida would have toughened me up by now- I think not!

Do you have a sephora down there? You should get a couple of samples and see how they do.

Fellow Central Floridian here! I know most people don't care for tinted moisturizer, and generally I don't either, but I'd HIGHLY recommend Jouer Matte Moisture Tint. Even when running around the woods sweating it pretty much stayed put. If anything there might be fading but DEFINITELY no ugly streaking. It's much more pigmented that most tinted moisturizers, feels a lot more like a foundation or a BB cream and the mattifying effect works better than anything. Put some finishing powder (I like Tarte) on top and it REALLY won't budge much. I've tried tons of foundations and have found this to be the best for oiliness/sweat etc so I'm gonna see how it holds up at bonnaroo.
It is also SPF 15
There are a couple of small samples of it up on ebay.
This'll be my first time at Roo and I plan on bringing a bb cream. I've got a love-hate relationship with Garnier's, but it's stood up to hot, humid Alabama days without streaking before so I'm thinking it should be okay. Plus it's got SPF!
I need to find a really good waterproof mascara though. If you guys had any suggestions, that'd be great!

Cannonball by urbandecay is pretty good. Also Anastasia has a water proofing top cost that you can put over any mascara. I'm taking my benefit they're real. It's not waterproof but it doesn't transfer but easily comes off in soap and water.
I wear whatever sunscreen on my body, and Clinique 40spf city block on my face.. It has a little tint to it, I've never burned with it, and it doesn't make me break out like regular stuff would on my face. Plus, I usually can get some free samples when I buy other Clinique stuff. I love it.
I'm not a big makeup wearer in the heat, but I'll throw on some waterproof mascara, and maybe a little coverup if I have a blemish. Lots of glitter at night, of course!

I want to get a little tan before but I don't like tanning beds. Anyone with fair skin ever get a spray tan? Also, will a spray tan hold up against sweating?

I get spray tans about twice a year cause it's the safest way to look tan! It will usually last for a week, but will be way more noticable the first 3-4 days. You can't shower or get wet/sweat up to 4 hours after getting it, but it should hold up to a weekend at Bonnaroo.

I have done spray tans too! I recommend the actual airbrush tanning opposed to something like Mystic tan though. Less mess, and less fudge-factor. i.e. Mystic tan can make your hands and feet look super weird.
I had an airbrush tan prior to a weekend long music festival, and it lasted the whole time. I had JUST gone to the beach too, so i was like an islander. It was preeeetty awesome.

I've done mystic tan several times and was happy with it. I use neutragena aerosol tanning stuff now and it's really easy to use. I've done my whole body, but mainly use it on my legs in an effort to fight the inevitable farmer tan from working outside.

oooooooh that aerosol stuff has intrigued me. Good to know it's easy and it works!! Thanks for that rec, Clarity!
And yeah, totally Mystic tan works and is worth it!!! - the first couple times I did it, the skin between my fingers and the palms of my hands were super dark though. Just inexperience with that type of spraying! So first timers, have at it, but ask all the pertinent questions when you get in that booth the first time. Don't wanna end up like Ross.
