I want to get a little tan before but I don't like tanning beds. Anyone with fair skin ever get a spray tan? Also, will a spray tan hold up against sweating?
I got a spray tan once from a spa... Never again, it was a bit orangey after it settled. I'm pretty pale so what I do is use hemp lotion all over after a shower starting in the late winter- it bronzes beautifully and isn't too expensive.

I just read through the first 105 pages of this thread because it's really slow at work and now I'm curious...are dresses and skirts still what you ladies still suggest/prefer to wear to 'roo? It's my first year going and I'm super excited and trying to figure out what the heck to be looking for clothing-wise.
NICE READING ALEXINWONDERLAND! LOL! I do that too when im super bored, choose a thread and start at the beginning
For me - YES - I still rock the dresses. Im also into the breathable running/bike shorts, and tutus.
Basically: -if you're gonna lock up your lady bits, make sure you're wearing quality material that breathes, -and if you aren't wearing something that will prevent thighs touching, carry an anit-chaffing agent (gold bond powder, gold bond stick, body glide stick, etc.). -if you're lady-lumps need support, wear a quality bra or sports bra, and if they dont, be comfortable in your bikinitop!
I think you can sum up this entire thread with - JUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH YOURSELF

Wear what's the most comfortable for you. I LIVE in dresses almost year round, so dresses at Roo (with shorts underneath) is an easy decision for me. One of my Roo buddies goes shorts and tank top every day. Stay in your comfort zone
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Thanks bonzai and mayonaise for the input!
I figured that would still be a constant because, let's face it, who doesn't love dresses? I'm definitely on the lookout for some of those running shorts as well because those would be nice to have.

I'm planning high wasted skirts with light colored tanks and swim top/sports bra. I need to get some bike shorts of some long boxer briefs.
You all think of how you're going to keep your hair? I was thinking of keeping a Sunhat on most of the time. Or keep a scarf/bandana in hair for pig tails. We'll see.

Last year I rocked the "Katniss braid" which I've been doing since I was a kid and was easy to pair with my big floppy hat. This year I'm thinking a braided faux-hawk to keep hair out of my face. Something like this: pinterest.com/pin/219409813068261884/

90% of my clothing consists of dresses and skirts. I rarely wear anything else when I am not in my work attire.

That looks wicked!! I'm going to have to start looking up braids..I had no idea awesomeness like this existed!!

Omg! I gotta try that!! If it looks good then I might rock something like that too!! Idk, I don't know what to do. I want to stay cute. lol

For me cotton sundresses are my favorite thing. I have some longer ones, but i really prefer the shorter ones for Roo. Last year I did a tutu and tank one day and that was lots of fun and super comfy, so that will be happening again

Just make sure you spray sunscreen on your scalp if you are doing that!!

I do pigtails or braided pigtails, keeps my hair off the back of my neck and still looks cute!

Thanks for the input dreamingtree and plaiditude! my wardrobe consists of long sleeves, t-shirts and sweatpants/leggings so looks like i'm going to have to shop shop shop for some new attire after I try to lose some weight for 'roo, of course (key word here: TRY). Maybe channel my inner craftiness and create a tutu for my friend and myself!!
I had a braided faux-hawk a couple of years ago for 'Roo. The woman who did the braids incorporated Bling String (I got it at Ulta) into them for some added sparkle. But, after the first two days I had a seriously itchy scalp. Between the sweating and the braids (if you've never had braids e.g. cornrows, micros, etc. ask someone who has and they'll tell you, that tension will make your scalp ITCH!) I had to take them out on Friday.
The style looks awesome but it might not withstand the whole weekend. Just something to keep in mind. Oh! And make sure to put some sunscreen on the exposed parts of your scalp.

Also, remember that LOOSE clothing is key. Anything that is too close to your skin (and not moisture wicking) will be unbearable! And I always bring lots of clothes, you never know what you're going to feel like wearing (due to weather, sobriety level, particular show etc).
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

I'M SO EXCITED TOO!!! I already started planning things, making checklists of what to bring and what to buy, buying bundles of glow sticks in the dollar section at Target. Cosmic- make one!! I'm sure it will turn out great no matter what craft skills you possess
This is probably not a Bonnaroo dress due to the beaded straps, but I'm in love and want to buy it. Aaaand it's super cheap. But I doubt my boobs will fit

I started my check list too. My husband is telling me I am obsessing over everything. Lol, Im just so excited and I want it to be amazing now matter what. I know myself well enough that I can be a bit of a freakazoid when I get stressed over something out of my hands- that's why I like to be super prepared for any situation. I hope we have enough soon in our car.... I feel like we'll be bungee cording things to the roof....
I'm super stoked too! I'm happy I'm not the only giddy one, because my boyfriend just laughs at me when I go all excited-girl-talk on him. I totally want to make a rootu, too. I used to take ballet when I was younger, so I have a somewhat unhealthy obsession with tutus.
And as for clothing, I'm planning on going the sundress and skirt/bikini top route. My only concern is how dirty and gross the clothes may get after a weekend at Bonnaroo.

I'm not worried about it. Bring some stuff to treat your clothes before you can get home to wash them.

Good plan. I'll probably stock up on Tide To Go pens, or something like that.

Cosmic- there's nothing wrong with being organized. Half the fun of things is the planning part and getting everything organized and all hyped up
Blasphemy-From what I've been reading on this forum, everything's bound to get dirty at some point and you're supposed to embrace it lol So don't bring anything that can't be washed and you should be all set!

Mine really don't get that dirty, unless it's an unusually dusty and dry year. Last year I wore a white sundress one day and it was totally fine
