Anyone hitting up any Fall fests? I'm going to Interlocken in September!! The weather has kind of thrown me for a loop. I'm used to packing for 90+ degree heat!

Layers!!! I'm not hitting any fall feats, but that would be my best solution. Tights and extra flannel shirts! I'm going to Osheaga in Montreal next weekend, and I find it a lot harder to pack for "clean" festivals. People look a lot nicer when they shower at night. I'm just thinking dresses and more dresses. Last year we wore our tutus on Saturday night, but since the fest ends at 11 we ended up wearing them out all night in downtown Montreal. I felt conspicuous.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

Interlocken is early in September so the weather probably will still be summer-like!

I'm going to interlocken too! I think it will be cool at night, so I'm planning on adding some long sleeves to go with skirts. I really want to make something kind of like this but with shoulders : wobisobi.blogspot.com/2013/05/off-shoulder-ladder-v-neck-tee-diy.html?m=1 There's a ton if cool DIY stuff in that blog

Oooo, I like that shirt! I went to Rothbury in 2008 which was in July, but I'm thinking we'll have that kind of weather in early Sept in VA. 70s (maybe low 80s) during the day, chilly but pleasant at night. I'm just so used to packing for hot weather...I'm having to really think about what to bring so I won't be freezing at night. 50s/60s doesn't seem that cool, but when you're camping outside, it can be so miserable if you don't have warm clothes!

Rothbury got cooooooollldddd at night. My go to for cooler fests is usually my typical top and skirt (maybe a thicker/longer one) during the day. Then throw on a pair of leggings and a hoodie or poncho when it starts cooling down at night. If you still get cold, dance harder!

So jealous that you are going to Osheaga, enjoy Montreal!
Dr. Joe thanks buddy!!I'm looking forward to it, had a blast last year!

I picked up several bright, flowy dresses and skirts at Maurice's. the kind that are great weekend outfits, but you throw a cardigan with it and Boom! it's a work dress. I'm feeling super girly today in a teal flowy one. Big change from my normal earthen tones, and it feels kind of strange.

I have one shopping weakness - Soulflower.com. I don't go to the mall, and I really don't shop for clothes often, but when I get that email from them, it's all over. They just sent out the early fall lookbook and in my head I've spent about $150. I will be ordering stuff today.....

Hey ladies! First post, but I've been creeping through this thread and Inforoo for months. This past year was my first but my boyfriend and I have been planning for next year since the drive home (it was his 5th year). You may have seen us walking around as Mario and Luigi every day; we switched who was who depending on our outfits but I was mostly Luigi because I had a sweet green tutu I made thanks to some tutorials posted by you lovely ladies. My costume planning/alterations are mostly complete, but what I'm having trouble with is lighting it up. I want to GLOW at night. My last-minute solution this year was to weave glowsticks into my braided hair, glowstick necklace/bracelets, and I used 2 of those Glowbys LED hair things and clipped them onto my tutu. Not nearly bright enough. We tried (and severely failed) with some el wire for his costume, but in my research of glowinthedarkology, that still seems like our best option. Any thoughts on how to attach the el wire to my tutu without weighing it down too much? Or any other awesome glow in the dark method I'm missing? I'd still like to be poofy and glow, but not sure how to do it. If I could figure out a way for our hats to glow too, that'd be amazing. We've been making due with just wearing our hats at the other concerts we've gone to since Roo, but Halloween is rapidly approaching so I need to come up with something!
Question about those glowbies (I know we've talked those suckers into the ground already). Can you twist them up into you're hair? Like around a messy bun or something? Or do they need to kind of just hang there?
You can twist them to a certain extent- nothing drastic and you'll end up with them poking out everywhere. I'd say a messy bun would be pushing it. I've done it with a braid before. Madeline and her sister put some good effort into incorporating a Glowby into cool hair styles on Friday this year (stupid Proboards won't let me tag her).
As far as the glowing tutu question in concerned... I've done EL-wire a few times and the battery pack is the most annoying thing ever. My big plan has been to incorporate a little pocket into the tutu for it, but I keep forgetting/ am too lazy to add it. I just did the Electric Run this past weekend and we tried spraying the tutus in glow in the dark spray paint and black light paint... didn't do much. Or didn't do much that we could see at least.. maybe if we sprayed more?
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Does anyone have experience with Chaco shoe repair? My thread came out of the sole, I just need it reinserted, but that is not priced on the repair site. Don't want to pay half the price of a new pair to have one shoe repaired. I don't even need new webbing, so maybe it won't be that much?
Soooooo it's super early but I've been trying to get a head start on some cool stuff for Roo this year. Especially glowy/light up stuff for late night. These shirts are really cool : www.thisiswhyimbroke.com/light-drawing-shirt since so many people will either have their phone or light up LED gloves, they could easily write on the shirt and BAM. then gone in 5 minutes. genius idea!
plus that website has all sorts of other cool stuff that could become festival faves!
Look up handkerchief dress! I have one but have never worn it... I think I need like 2/3 less boob to make it work. It's really low cut in the front and if you want to wear it with a strapless, it shows all over the place. So I bought a bandeau to cover up the bra.. ehhh it just looks funky. Doesn't fit the flow. But it's a beautiful dress..
There's also a brand that has come up a bunch of times in this thread... can't remember the name though. K something?
