Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I also need to make one for a Wanee costume in April.. so I've got at least 2 to make. And the ribbon on my panda tu died at MOEMS this year (I've worn it 5ish times) so I need to redo that one. I probably should get going on this! Maybe I'll woman up and order tulle online. Or make the hour trip down to the (one and only and brand new) Hobby Lobby on their big deal days that I always read about from all of you...

Good times!! I loved trying to keep you from slamming into a tree or a street meter as you kept looking down at your tu, fighting to retie your ribbon, while walking! I was laughing so hard but concerned.

So I am thinking about dyeing my hair (maybe before Bonnaroo) a bright color, but I do not want to bleach it. I would like to use one of the semi-permanent dyes like Ion, Special Effects, Splat, Manic Panic etc. I would be happy with my medium brown/auburn hair to have a purple, teal or red tint to it and not be SUPER bright. Any ideas of what brand to use? I understand it won't last long if I don't bleach it and that is ok. I just want to use something that is easy and not too messy more than anything else......
I have dark brown/black hair and I have had good luck with manic panic (the kind in the tube) reds and purples. Never tried anything lighter like teal though.
Maybe for my Friday the 13th tu I will go more ethereal... I always go shorter and poofy, but something long and fairylike might be a good start...
And billypilgrim, your daughter is beautiful! Gorgeous eyes obliviously run in the family!
Oooh! A flowy tutu might be fun. I've seen full tulle skirts before so maybe a thinner version of that.
How bright are the reds and purples of Manic Panic on your dark hair? I want a change and something fun, but I don't want my boss thinking I lost my mind

They're work appropriate. The purple was mostly visible in certain light and the red was bright enough to notice but not like crayon red. I wish I could find some old pics to attach :/

I use Splat. My hair is dark blonde/light brown and I use the purple. It shows up REALLY well without using bleach and it's stayed for about four months now getting subtler but still fairly noticeable. With your hair colour it would start out a little more subtle I think. I highly recommend Splat.
I'm going to start practicing tie dying this week. I'll report back. I also am on the look our for neon tulle for this year.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

Keep us updated on hair colors. I think I am going to try Manic Panic purple haze first, when it arrives and go from there.
i went to the winter classic last month and was insanely bummed (possibly irate??) at the fact that there were no purses/bags/fanny packs allowed in the stadium so i got creative. taking extra material, i put together a pocket inside the layers of material: the perfect hiding place for chapstick, money, and so on. i realize roo is the WRONG place for no-sew fleece blankets but you could probably put one on the outside of a blanket or sheet (i'm thinking lounging in the grass) so you don't have to be tied down by a purse or bag!
Every year I thing about putting a pocket in my tutu but never have managed to make it happen. My main goal is less of those necessities (as I always have either my fanny pack underneath or camelbak on, but rather for the battery pack when I want to late-night-ify my tu with EL-wire. That freakin' battery back is so annoying...

I have so many more creative ideas now that the official lineup is out. All I can say is Sunday night will involve feather boas and big star-shaped sunnies
edit: not sure why these links aren't posting, but here's an example picture. they're at zulily.com
Hey thanks! I'd never shopped at zulily.com before, just placed my first order, and let's just say...it's a damn good thing I got paid on Thursday.
You are what I call an enabler.
hey, did your leggings come in yet? how do you like them?
i ended up not getting any, by the time i had the money there was a very limited selection left and the ones i liked didn't have my size and the rest i didn't really like all that much...

as ghetto/janky as it sounds, i safety pin a ziplock bag on the inside of my tutu to keep the battery back in place and dry. it works and it keeps it mostly out of the way if you position it on like the back side of your hip (love handle area).... it works for me.
I know I posted this last year too (and in the Facebook Inforoo group) but I'm going to share it again because it has a lot of festival fashion ideas plus recipes and my personal fest staples (tea tree soap!).
My Bonnaroo board on Pinterest:
I update it all the time and I like to see what other people have in their Bonnaroo boards so if you have one share it.
THESE SHORTS ARE RAD AND I NEED THEM RIGHT MEOW.

Right? They look so comfy I had to pin them. My only concern would be chafing bc they seem super short. I'd need a bunch of that goldbond stick.
I just need to find dresses again this year that don't require a bra. Haha.
Me too! I just got a really cute and comfy one from Marshalls for $13 with daisies all over it but it probably does require a bra, but I'm now considering going without one anyway because I don't think most Bonnaroovians care if things are poking through anyway, hahaha.
But yes, no bra dresses and swim suits with breezy high-low skirts are definitely happening this year. Last year was my first year and I brought way too many clothes and I have now learned so much, haha.
For me, dresses are the best way to avoid over-packing. I bring a dress and bike shorts for each day then some capri length yoga pants and tees for evenings/sleeping.

I gotta go all flamboyant for Elton. It's a MUST. Something all glittery and big sunglasses. HELP.
I'm probably hanging onto the same dress I've always worn to everything I have gone to involving Jack White, from my visits to Third Man and shows and such but I might change that up too. It's a blue one that's the exact same shade of blue as one of his suits from his last tour with some black that I wear underneath. Meh.
Everyone else gets my generic maxi skirt and tank top look most likely.
I know that this would be a total Attention Whore move, but I found a shirt on TshirtHell.com that says "I shaved my balls for this?" . I wanna wear this around Roo for a day

so this year is going to be my first roo and I'm super excited! but i have some questions, ok first i love my floral headbands but is there any way you girls protect your head from burning? After burning my scalp on vacations in the caribbean the last thing i want is for it to burn, but i don't want to put regular sunscreen or wear a hat? so if you girls have any suggestions on that would be great! Also i already have most of my clothes for roo (i know I'm a little crazy) but is it a bad idea wearing jean shorts or should i stick with dresses and skirts? Thank ya!!
