I'm thinking about buying new teva sandals. Some of those metallic ones? Idk what I'd wear with them, but they're so cute.... Can someone please talk me out of this? Or confirm that I do, infact, need these? thanks in advance

Link? I've been looking at shoes too. I'd love to find a semi cute sandal that will give me support for roo.

Tell me if that works -- the silverish color I'd love.
I don't have that design, but my Teva sandals are the most comfortable sandals I own! You won't regret it.
I have a pair but they aren't like this style... and would be nice to have a new cute pair to wear. My others are black and bulky and have a 'hurricane' design. So thanks, I will probably move these from wish list on amazon to shopping cart lol
Anyone have experience with Keens for themselves? I have a pair of their neoprene flats, but I don't wear them a ton because they're a crazy orange color. My kids have had their shoes with no complaints though...
I had forgotten all about the free Teva sandals I got on the farm last year!
They were these.
Groundscores?
No, brand new ones in the box. Teva sponsored some little stage in tents only. As I was walking back Sunday from getting my lunchboxes & bandanas, I saw a fashionable lady with a bunch of Teva crossbody bags on her. I asked her if she was giving those away & she gave me one. She asked what size shoe I wore, then reached in another bag & pulled out the box.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Yes! Geez I have different kind of Keens in different colors and styles and love them SO much. I have had one pair for 7 years and wear them all summer long, every year lol. I throw them in the washing machine, hose them down if muddy. and they are always comfy. My friends who come to Roo with me also have multiple pairs and love them just as much as I do. They are not cheap, but I've always managed to find them on sale online. I always recommend them as the best shoe for Bonnaroo

I have actually worn a pair of Keen sandals similar to this to Bonaroo and had the straps break. Keen replaced them, but it was a HUGE inconvenience at the time. This style is not made for that kind of terrain. I have both of these and while they are not pretty - they are the best shoes ever!!

Thanks for the feedback! I would not want to deal with that at bonnaroo!! I looked at a couple of pairs of Merrill's and Tevas today too, so I guess the search continues!

altrunner I would HIGHLY recommend trying on a pair of Keens before anything. I think I've said this before, but some people swear by Keens. Like wear them almost exclusively. However, while i find them aesthetically pleasing they just don't fit my foot shape. Sad.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

Don't know what turn I took to get into the Girly Fashion Thread, but that website is awesome. Had to buy this gem and I see myself going back to spend more.

I mean...that's obviously one of the best shirts on the site!
Ladies, I need help with grommets! It doesn't seem like a fashion question, but it's camp fashion. I have a new tapestry for shade on the ez-up, but it has no holes with which to hang. I have grommeted once before and, while it worked, it was WAY less than pretty. Is there some secret for using grommets? Do I need to cut the fabric before I try to snap the grommet together, or should I let the tool do the work? My issue last time is that the fabric got kinda bunchy around the grommets, and I'd like this to be a little prettier.
Any help you can offer is most appreciated. Also, if someone wants to grommet this tapestry for me, I'm up for doling out some cash for the task and mailing the tapestry and grommets to you so you can make it prettier than I will! <3 GFT!

I can't help with grommeting, but I would suggest curtain rings with clips, so no grommets/holes are required:

We use safety pins!! Makes it super easy to pin them together... and along our canopies. AND you can pin them together during the day to either catch the wind or to block the sun. Super handy dandy!!

I ordered a grommet press from JoAnn fabric. It has a tool on the end to punch a hole in the fabric, then you put the two pieces of the grommet together on either side of the fabric, and smoosh them between the pliers part of the tool. I put them in sheets and tapestries. Worked out well and looked very neat.
I love your screen name! I believe you just may be her.
I didn't realize there was another way besides the horrible hammering of a sharp peg through my beloved fabric. I may give this a shot; if I try on something I don't love and still flunk. I'm going with the clothespins idea this year!
Hello ladies! 1st time Bonnaroo 1st time festival please tell me what I must have/bring/pack keep in mind I'm in my 30's and not a size 4,6,8.... My husband has been to Bonnaroo 7 times but I just don't think his advice on girls clothes is what I should listen too

I am glad that you're joining your husband this year!! The most important thing when planning your Roo clothing is BE COMFORTABLE! If you're constantly pulling up straps, don't wear it. If underwire bugs the hell out of you, then don't wear it. You'll be walking around, dancing, sweating, napping, relaxing in this outfit, so the number one rule is be comfortable. After you have figured out what it exactly means to be comfortable for you, then you can worry about looking cute (if you want to worry about it).
I personally wear flowy dresses with yoga/bike shorts underneath paired with Sanuk Yoga Mat flip flops.
More specific suggestions:
-Breathable fabric/styles. Let the air flowwwww
-GOOD SHOES!!!! Sanuk, Keens… whatever you choose, make sure you can walk around for hours in them. If your feel hurt, it could ruin your weekend. Some people will say no flip flops- in five years of Roo and many other festivals- I wear flip flops almost exclusively. Some wear boots. And everything in between!
-Thigh rubbing. It hurts. If you are wearing a dress, I recommend wearing some sort of shorts underneath to avoid chaffing. Some go tighter, but wicking athletic shorts. Others go with men’s boxers. At the minimum invest in Goldbond. Another upside of shorts under a dress is that you don't have to worry about showing your goods to passerbyers when taking a nap in the shade.

I stick to flowy dresses and flip flops as well. Never did me wrong! I bring rain boots just in case it gets muddy, but I've only worn them once in the 4 times I've been. As far as footwear - make sure whatever you do bring is broken in. I brought some Tevas one year that rubbed my feet raw. My feet were covered in band aids because I didn't break them in prior. I just switched over to my broken in Reefs and was happy the rest of the weekend.
Also bike shorts under dresses is a must! Or chaffing gel/powder. Also learned this the hard way my 1st Bonnaroo! Not fun! Hats or headbands/wraps are good too to keep you cool and to make sure you don't burn your scalp.

Thanks for all the great advice! I wear flip flops (havianas) pretty much all the time and I went to Disney for a week and wore Sanuk the whole time! My hubby said they would be fine but not if it rains.

Thanks for the advice! Now to find some cute dresses....,
