Dresses are a must!! I personally do not wear shorts under, because that would feel like way too much clothing in that heat. I always carry Body Glide, to avoid chaffing, and I am good! Light dresses and good shoes and you are covered!! Bring a hoody for evenings, sometimes it can get cool.
I do dresses with biking shorts underneath, or skirts. I personally hate to carry things so I try to find dresses with pockets but thats just me. I usually wear toe shoes/sanuks but I can't seem find either pair of my shoes. My closet must have ate them which means I need to go shopping, darn. I usually head into Roo on Wednesday wearing pants of some sort incase it gets too cold one night I'll throw on the pants I wore on Wednesday. I always bring two pairs of shoes or rain boots incase it rains, it sucks having to put ice cold shoes on the next morning. But like others have mentioned I've never actually worn my rain boots when I bring them and if you are limited on space or flying in the they take up a lot of room. Oh and I always bring socks for when I sleep because my feet get cold, but that's probably just me.

Socks are the devil, guuurrrlllllll.
I do bring two pairs of leggings. It's easy to throw a pair in your bag if you're camping far from Centeroo. When the sun goes down you can slide them on if you're chilly and not have to worry about changing when 8,000 bands are playing. It can get pretty chilly at night!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Leggings for the wiiiiin! I have a bright yellow pair that are super soft and feel amazing. I also bring a lightweight flannel button up. Easy to carry around, can tie it around my waist if necessary or it fits compactly in whatever bag I happen to be carrying.
Also at night I love to have my fleece blanket for sleeping. It's nice just to have something to cuddle up with after a long day/night of dancing and sun and booze.
Get that shit away from me come morning tho. Cause it's hot.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
Hello ladies! 1st time Bonnaroo 1st time festival please tell me what I must have/bring/pack keep in mind I'm in my 30's and not a size 4,6,8.... My husband has been to Bonnaroo 7 times but I just don't think his advice on girls clothes is what I should listen too
Basically, what Bonz said.
I did a dress one day and wore some compression shorts under it so 1) my thighs wouldnt rub 2)no one got flashed. The rest of the time, I wore capri/jeans. I'm from arkansas so the humidity didn't mess with me. I'm used to wearing jeans in the summer so no biggie. But the more comfortable you feel, the better!!
I wore flip flops around camp and teva sandals into centeroo. This year I'm gonna try and do tennis shoes some, and sandals some. By the end of the night, walking back to camp killed me bc standing/dancing in sandals all day killed my hips and legs.
You'll probably want your own camelbak if you don't already have one. I shared one last year and we did just fine as a couple, but when it ran out.... neither of us wanting to drink the free water so we ended up going back to camp lol
Sunglasses and sunscreen. Apply sunscreen all the time. If you don't, by Sunday you'll be a hot mess who just wants to throw a fit and go home like a 3 year old lol the heat does horrible things to a grown woman, especially a sunburned woman.
I didnt have a baseball cap last year and finally found one on sunday. I regret that. I went ahead and purchased a cap this year bc I eventually quit caring what I looked like and just wanted to have fun. So pigtails and a baseball cap it is for me!! I'm not 19 and have no desire to be featured in any buzzfeed article about trendy clothes at roo in 2015 so.............. lol there ya go.

Now that i've lost a good chunk of weight, and hopefully more before roo..... Leggings are probably going to happen. They are just so comfy.
Have any of you ever done the Garnier Fructise salon while at Bonnaroo? Does it take forever? Usually it's just me and the bf so I've always wanted to go to get my hair braided since I suck at it myself!

I have tried many times to do it but can never get in. They give you a number and an estimated time for when your number will be called. I always end up being 1000 numbers away and never actually make it back because my eta is always when theres a show I want to see. I'm sure if you tried earlier in the festival/right when they open it would be a lot easier to get in.

my bf and i went one day my first year, i think early afternoon when there weren't any shows i wanted to see yet. it did take forever, but it was nice to sit in the air conditioning for a little while when i had nothing else going on. for some reason, they decided to french braid my hair. curls + big forehead + the tightest braid in my hair was a terrible idea. though it did feel wonderful to have my hair washed!

Not tried it, but I always ask someone to give me pigtail braids. I cannot do it myself, and most girls with longer hair know how to do a basic braid. I always find someone to do it for me
Start practicing braids now! I could never do them until a few years ago. My hair was short, so I needed 2 French braids to get my hair out of my face for the gym. It looked shitty at first, but it was just the in so I didn't care. 5 years later, I'm doing all kinds of funky braids and twists to my hair. Even just a little twist to pull your bangs back makes a huge difference at a festival. You can do it!

Yeah, I can only do one normal braid to my own hair, but I can braid/french braid other people's hair (like Dreamingtree's) with ease. I am just too OCD and my hair is too long to do my own. My arms get too tired too quickly and I am never happy with the way it looks. The side braid is my BFF.

You know, when I see you at Roo, if I'm not braided already, this is your job

Thank you for this link! I have short hair but it's thick enough I might be able to pull this off. By Friday night, all I want is my bangs out of my face, so I've been experimenting. I found this link for a short hair braid that I have been practicing with (sans curling iron).

I've done that one! Didn't look quite the same because my layers are too short and thin for the thicker braids. There's something there though. I've got shoulder length hair, and am always looking for cute ways to style it. I've got this pinterest board full of ideas I think might work on medium length hair -

Following your board as well! My hair is currently half way down my back but I am about to get it cut off above my shoulders again. It is much easier to take care of when it is short. I am always looking for new ways to style short hair.
Gee, all the Boho stuff that looks so cute on you thin gals makes me look like my grandmother's sofa! Anyone have any hints for us plus size hippies?
...unfortunately not! I generally stick with dresses that are elastic/fitted beneath my boobs as to ensure the world that I am not wearing a mumu and there is some semblance of a body underneath.

I never do flowy on both the top and the bottom to combat the mumu affect. My go to is flowy skirts with a basic tank top or fitted tee. If I wear a flowy top, it has to be with either shorts or a slim short skirt. Or, like bonzai if I wear a dress, it has to make body contact under boobs somewhere (a belt can do this for a flowy dress sometimes). Basically anything to seperate my boob area from my butt area, so it's not just one round bubble.
