I literally paint my nails opaque colors to hide all the dirt and use so much dry shampoo I can't breathe
Oh man. I didn't even think about my nails. I'm adding dark nail polish to my packing list! Thank you this would have driven me crazy!!
This! I like to do a fun opaque color on my toes. I don't usually care about my fingernails because I will obsessively scrub them with tea tree soap every morning and night but the toes are a must.
if anyone is looking to get a new swimsuit, I highly highly recommend this suit. I ordered it a few weeks ago and I've never loved a suit more. and it's basic enough to mix and match with any other pieces you might have. and it comes in tons of colors!!

There is another one on modcloth that I want in a BAD way. was just nervous about purchasing suits online, but it's good quality?
it's REALLY good! especially the bottom. Well, the top is good quality too, I just have crazy big boobs so they fit a tiny bit weird in the top. but the bottom fits like a glove and the material is so nice. definitely worth the price - which I was weary about initially.

Anyone know a good place to buy swimsuit tops that I'm not going to fall out of and that aren't expensive? Proportionally I'm sort of busty so nothing ever fits PLUS my dancing involves a lot of jumping and I'm trying not to flash anyone haha.
I'm already getting some major underboob sweat and I've decided swimsuit tops would be my best bet unless someone has better advice?

i have no boobs, nor have i ever worn a two piece, but i have found a lot of cute suits at burlington. my sisters are pretty busty and have found a few tops there for cheap. old navy has a big sale going on right now, and target usually has deals on swimsuits around this time too.
I use the Salley Hansen nail strips/stickers for festivals. Nail polish always chips on me after even 1 day, but these stick on for a week or so (maybe more? I always take them off when I get home). Even the light colors are fully opaque because they have a foil backing.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

I have like, zero, skills. How difficult are these stickers to apply?? And if (when) I start picking at them, how easy are they to replace??
I also have zero skills, and sometimes I get them on a smidge crooked at the nail line but they are very forgiving. It's basically a sticker you put over your nail and then just fold over the tip of your nail and peel off the excess. Anything you have hanging off the sides you can just crease and pull off your skin.
For me it's much faster (and easier) than paint, and it doesn't need to dry! If they weren't so expensive (not really that expensive, I'm just cheap) I'd put them on more often in "real life".

I'd like to add that they are hardy. They don't chip and peel easily. I used to use these when I would skate, because I could rock team colors, and they could take a serious beating and still look pretty afterwards.

Thanks ladies! I'll definitely give this some consideration

Yeah for sure. In my experience they last through entire festivals and don't look any worse for wear at the end (cannot say the same for my pedicures).
You guys have me intrigued. I generally only paint my toe nails. My nails might, and I mean MIGHT, get done for big events like weddings, but usually my fingers are au natural. But now I kinda want to look into it.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

i like the sally hanson strips you just stick to your real nails and boom! crazy designs. They aren't really cheap but it beats waiting for nail polish to dry.
EDIT: oops, i didn't see the whole discussion about the sally hanson strips until just now. but seriously, try it out. sometimes i'll buy the sally hanson press on nails (they last about 3 days) and will paint those before i put them on my hands or use the strips on those so my nails look professional.

If you're busty, you may just have to go try some on. I always go to like dillards (it's local here but it's similar to macy's) - while it's expensive, they tend to have sizes in the top that fit. It never fails, I'll buy an XL for the top and it's STILL not big enough and I'm not THAT busty. It seems like sizes just keep getting smaller lol

I'm the same way. You should try them out for roo!
Hi ladies! What do you wear as far as socks when wearing rain boots? I've only ever worn mine over pants and I'm wondering if my legs would get rubbed raw if I didn't have boot socks on or something. I'll obviously be wearing mine only if it rains but I want to make sure I have everything I need just in case.

I wear knee high socks. I prefer my soccer knee high socks, but in a pinch regular ones have been fine. Definitely wear something between your legs and those boots, they sell boot liners that go over the top and work really well also, my niece swears by those.
Can anyone tell me where Garnier Fructis sets up? Are the braids basic or can you ask for something a little more elaborate?
Thanks
It's in centeroo. I've only traveled in once and there was quite the wait so I didn't stick around. They seem to have a fairly large selection of fancy braids you can choose from.

According to this awesome article about what to do at Roo (with our own smellycat in it), they say if you get there early you can get your hair did, but if you are there after 10 am you are pretty much screwed and the line will be stupid long.

This! I always wear knee high socks with my rain boots! I think you're legs would be a disaster after wearing with no socks...esp with all the walking at roo

I actually tried this last year. You have to wait in line and get a number, which is incredibly far away from the number we were on. BEWARE! Most people do what I did and take the number and say, "psh 200 people in front of me I'll come back later after a show." Most people must do that because when I came back after an hour or so they were a couple hundred people past my number...whoops. I'm assuming you can ask for a different kind of braid, but I haven't personally seen anything outside a french and maybe a fishtail. I understand the reasoning though...think how long it would take to blow dry all that hair!

May have to jump on board that nail polish sticker strip whatever you call them train. Roo is pretty much the only time I paint my nails as well (for the same reason of not wanting to look at the dirt...if I can't see it it's not there lalala!). So those strips seem like they'd be fun...maybe I'll grab some.
In other news, thinking I'm going to ditch the dresses and go with shorts and tanks for at least some of the time this year. After all these years it sort of occurred to me that I think I've just been following the crowd without properly evaluating for myself, and I feel like I might be more comfortable in shorts. Hoping I don't regret that decision too much...eek.

I've worn dresses before too and I find that I'm so much more comfortable in tanks and shorts. I'm packing leggings for when it gets dark as well. I just feel like you gotta do what's comfortable for you regardless of trends.

This is making me laugh, because I've always been a shorts and t-shirt gal at festivals (no tanks for me, not with these raging granny flaps) and this year I decided to wear skirts for a change! They look cooler, and when you use the portos you don't have pants to hit the floor. And if you get cold at night, you just put on a pair of leggings. I think we need a panel discussion at brunch about "which is better-shorts or skirts" while we are braiding each other's hair.

I got my last suit from figleaves.com (buy bras there too). They sell larger cup sizes if you need it, and there's a big price range. It's out of England, but I've always gotten my orders within a couple weeks.

Ha! The ability to just pull on leggings/tights when it gets cold is definitely one of the things I shall miss. I like to think that you and I will cross paths at some point, and you will be in a skirt and I will be in shorts and neither of us will be entirely sure how we feel about it but we will never actually realize that we crossed paths.
I always paint my toe nails and nails for Roo but I never remember to bring my nail polish for when it starts to come off. Then I just get mad and pick it all off and have dirty nails all weekend. But these stickers are intriguing. Amazon seems to have a ton of them.
Jamberry nail strips are pretty popular and they have lots of cool designs. I've tried some of mine once and they definitely lasted much longer than nail polish. I had a friend say they'll still get dirty living thorugh a festival, but that may be better than regular nail polish or seeing your dirty nails. I may try adding clear polish over it and seeing if it holds up for Bonnaroo.
You may know a friend that sells them, so if you do, give them credit by using their specific URL. I know an acquaintance that sells them, so if you want to buy under her URL to give someone credit if you're gonna buy but don't know anyone, here's her link: leslieann.jamberrynails.net/
