No, I would like to... but I also love the whole application process of makeup so it's kinda taking the fun out of it. I would love to try the cheetah-like ones though

i am super into the hyphy scene atm. feel in love with 'hyphy' music before it was even described as such (around 1991-1992) and came back home to it last year. therefore my style usually tends to reflect loud colors, outrageous trends and sick sneakers. however, i can switch it up and be polished sometimes too. big look right now: dark skin tight loooong jeans, silver flats, lowkey yet super sexy tight, bright shirt. usually some large hoops or ridiculous earrings of some sort.

Kristen, if you are looking to try a airbrush foundation Sally Hansen makes a product that works really well. It is also "water resistant" and has SPF and can be purchased at a reasonable price in CVS, Walgreens, etc... www.sallyhansen.com/product.cfm?product=23
((I also sent you a friend request on myspace lol!))

Does anyone have a Joyce Leslie clothing store near them? I have not shopped in this store since like 6th grade...sooo 1996. I went there today and got two dresses, one of which I can def wear to Roo but the other is black and has some sequins along the top I don't know if it's too much? Maybe at night? I attempted to try on a more hippie/bohemian(sp?) dress and it's just not me at all..I don't want to look out of place
A girl in high school used to rock homemade glitter eyeliner. It was so cool. She just mixed glitter with hair gel and applied it liberally along her lash line. Very disco but in a 1996 way.
You ladies ever try burts bees? I love that stuff!
I freaking love Burts Bees! I've been using profesional shampoo and Conditioner for a long time, and just recently switched to Burts bees. Its just as good, cheaper, and organic! You can get these cute gift packs with tons of sample size products in them. I got the Head to Toe one for Christmas and absolutely love it. The Lemon nail stuff has done wonders for my weeks nails and it smells really good. Man, I love that stuff!!!

your definately not gonna want to wear black during the day, its wayyy wayy too hot for that
^ good point about the black. The day I almost had sunstroke I was wearing a dark navy dress out of lightweight tee-shirt material. I think that was a major cause to me almost passing out.

Hmm so no black during the day... I'm usually always in either black or white and I don't think white would be a good choice b/c it would get filthy, right? So black dress at night? Do people get dressed up at night? I'd like to just wear a nice sundress or something...does it get too cold for that?
((sorry about the million questions)) and thank you all for being so helpful!

being "dressed up" at bonnaroo usually doesn't mean the same thing it does back in the real world. dressing up at bonnaroo means you have body glitter, fairy wings, and a halo...or a costume...or crazy eyeshadow and a cute hippie skirt
oh, and it gets chilly at night. i suggest a hoodie or sweater of some sort, and probably not a short skirt or dress
Post by sparklybecca on Feb 19, 2008 11:37:36 GMT -5
yeah id definately bring a hoodie with you, getting dressed up is definately different.. i wear my long flowy dresses at night, and lots of glitter and fun stuff like that...
I'm bringing a little black dress that I love - its a sundress type thing, like a glorified swimsuit coverup. The thing is, at night I'll probably wear hoodies so you won't be able to see it! I might just wear it during the day, despite the heat. Yeah, I'm stupid.
alessia, last year I saw a few girls that were "dressed up" - and they didn't look very comfortable. I wouldn't bring anything that you wouldn't wear to the beach... meaning, casual and comfortable is the name of the game.

I found some really cute patterns and fabric at a sewing store so I am making lots of dresses and skirts just for roo. It's way less expensive and not as complicated as you would think. I have issues with shoes though. I wore flip flops last year and had hella blisters. Any ideas?
I think it also depends on what kind of flip flops you get. I had the teva ones with the mush soles. The thingie on most flip flops that runs between your toes always ends up causing me blisters. But these were awesome, right out of the box:
The mush sole was like walking on marshmallows. And no rubbing between my toes. That said, I'm also bringing crocs, in case it rains. The thwack-thwack of flip flops would cover you and everyone near you in mud.

my advice on anything concerning dirt or getting dirty at Roo...
...get over it. you WILL be dirty. period. there is no way around it, only suggestions on how to make it better and/or more bearable throughout the day. so as far as rain boots...if they're cute...hell yeah. but i will be in my crocs, rain or shine. because if its raining, you're just fated to be twice as dirty regardless of the shoes you wear.
