I am one who almost always wears black... I just love the color!
However for Bonnaroo, I didn't wear it ebcause of the heat.
Thursday: kelly green babydoll tank from Vickie's and these old jeans I cut off into shorts. That night, put on a pinky-red colored hoodie.
Friday: I think this is the day I wore the navy knit dress. It was actually sold at Old Navy as a beach coverup - little sleeves, elastic neck so could be off the shoulder, two patch pockets and thin jersey. Wore bike short underneath and a blue sheer tapestry/scarf in my hair like a turban.
Friday night: Old vintage tee I stole from a boy at a bar (so crazy, in DE and see a guy in a shirt with my hometown on it. He was drunk, I offered to trade shirts, he thought he would get a boob shot so agreed. But you know us girls know how to change clothes under clothes so he got a green Old Navy plain tee and I kept this cool shirt!); camo-print cargo cropped pants with cool orange and hot pink floral embroidery on them. Same hoodie.
Saturday: Brown print cotton sundress from Old Navy, another pair of bike shorts, bikini top, bandanna over my pigtails.
Saturday night: I think I just threw the camp pants under my dress? I remember doing that one night because I brought jeans and hated the idea of putting them on. I think I put the hoodie over this too
Sunday: Camo print shorts, two ribbed tanks over one another (coral and hot pink)
Sunday night: Donned the hoodie
Monday: I was tired and dirty so I put back on the stolen tee and camo pants.
Needless to say I only wore half of what I brought...
But really, I am a clotheshorse except at Bonnaroo... ;D
I'm a planner so I figured out all of my outfits ahead of time - I changed them around a bit, but I have such a hard time figuring out what to wear, especially when I'm hot, so this saved me when dressing in a 3' high tent.
I did wear a black sundress Saturday night with a hoodie overtop. In Centeroo at night, I would go from hot to cold pretty quickly so it was nice to have something lightweight on - when I got hot, I would just tie the hoodie around my waist or stuff it in my backpack.

my advice on anything concerning dirt or getting dirty at Roo...
...get over it. you WILL be dirty. period. there is no way around it, only suggestions on how to make it better and/or more bearable throughout the day. so as far as rain boots...if they're cute...hell yeah. but i will be in my crocs, rain or shine. because if its raining, you're just fated to be twice as dirty regardless of the shoes you wear.
So true! There is no getting around getting dirty. I was filthy every day and I was even going home every night and taking a long shower. I will also be sporting my orange crocs no matter what outfit I am wearing and no matter whether it's raining or not.

yeah, dirtyness comes with the territory of going to the Roo!
But, I will pick up some rainboots, just so I can stomp around in the mud a little bit better if it does rain, and you can just wash those off... there's some pink ones that I like!!!
I *still* think I might wear my black dress during the day, just because its so damn cute, and the material is light and flowy. I'm stubborn
I kinda want some wellies too, just because I don't want to lose sandals in the mud if it rains. Last year, I wore flip flops the whole time, and even though we had a 45-minute walk from BFE to Centeroo, I never had blisters or anything like that. I live in flip flops nearly year round and I have pretty tough feet, so I have no need for crocs! But yeah, they could totally get stuck in mud and disappear so I might put wellies on my ever growing list.
The only bummer is that the straps on the top aren't adjustable, so I might just order it anyway and see how it works! Karma for the share-age, Becca!
About hair: I was planning just wearing my hair in a messy bun with a headband, but I am now totally considering getting a cowboy hat. Seems like it could be good shade without distorting music or being too hot. But a cowboy hat wouldn't fit on a bun so well... so I was thinking pigtail braids?? It could be cute... or farm girl porno-esque. And I can't braid my own hair!

You know what herecomesthesun, if I found a super cute black dress, I would probably sport it as well. I just can't say no to a cute dress! ;D that's what hats and Camelbaks are for!
A cowboy hat would be great because the breeze can flow AND you can look cute. My hubby wore one all last year... I bought one for me to wear but looked stupid in it (I have a very big head) so I gave it to him.
Becca - this one is a halter top too, but the strap just goes around, it doesn't tie. I feel like it might not be tight enough, do you know what I mean? So yours tied up??
Thanks for the reassurance alieblue I really wish I could show the dress to you girls, its mega cute & you would love it. Maybe I'll take a pic sometime! Putting on a fun summer dress might take my mind off the fact that is is half a degree outside!!
I hope I don't look silly in a cowboy hat! I usually look okay in hats so I think I'll probs be fine.
I can't stand crocs. I just can't do it. They're ugly and I just think rubber shoes would be disgustingly sweaty and dirty and gross and slippery when wet. Sorry to you croc-lovers, but I just can't. So I need some other option in case of rain this year. I'm afraid my Tevas might kill my feet, plus they are not so cute, so I'm not sure I would want to try that route. I think I'd be really really tempted to just go barefoot. I barefooted it a little bit last year and was fine, so if it got really muddy I might end up doing that.
And man...I really want a new bathing suit. At least a top. Going to have to splurge on one before Roo. I have a couple tops that I don't like so much because they aren't padded, and only one that is padded. Since I enjoy pretending like I actually have boobs, padding helps! Heheh. There's a ton of cute suits at Target and Delias that are tempting me so much. I have some money saved from doing paid surveys that I think will become a Roo splurge, and I should also have money from something I wrote that's being published in a book, so I'll have to treat myself to a new bathing suit...and maybe some cute dresses...and other fun things!

You know what you could do if the straps are too long - either just tie a little knot in the back (I've done this) or if you're handy, cut the strap in half, sew up the edges and then tie them yourself.
Or you could cut them and not sew it up - if it's tied, it probably wouldn't fray too much

sooo I got my hippieshop dress! man that was fast! i ordered it on Saturday night!!!!!
anyways, i probably could have the size medium,(im a size 10-12) but the large works fine..i just cant decide if it looks too moomoo ish on me ??? im gonna take pics and you guys can tell me the truth. hehehe ;D
like if there was just a LITTLE less fabric in the skirt area i think it would look less moomo ish. but also i think it will be great to spin in ;D

Please, please, please rethink going barefoot if it rains. Walking in the dust will be nothing to walking in mud. You literally will have no way of knowing what is beneath the surface. Glass? Rusty nails? I also really wouldn't subject my feet to the floor of a porta-potty, even in dry weather. The opportunity for infection is just massive. All it would take is a cut on one of your feet. But the likelihood of injury or infection in mud is really a terrible thing to consider. A nail through your foot could bring your 'Roo to a very early, painful and dangerous ending. Pick rainy weather footgear that at least gives you a fighting chance.
^^^ That looks so comfy, sparklybecca! But it looks as if it fits in the chest, even if you think it doesn't elsewhere. I'd wonder if going down a size would be too tight up top.

hrm...there is some room in the chest area but not a ton, i think it may be too small if i go down a size, i can eff with it on my sewing machine if i feel like it i spose. in any event im keeping it its like the comfiest thing ever. i have it on now and refuse to take it off ;D
I envy you people your mad sewing skillz. If something doesn't fit me, I just resign myself to not owning it. Which happens a lot at 5 ft. nuthin'. It really looks comfy, as is, sparklybecca. I can see why you'd refuse to take it off!
