Our pleasure!
Last year was my first and well, the needs of us girls are usually different from guys who can walk around half-naked even in normal life and just need a pair of shorts, some Gold Bond and maybe a teeshirt to get through 4 days (I know I went with 2 boys).
And I never pimp my blog on here, but I did write a post post-Roo about different beauty products that women hate to admit they use, and a few of the things are very good to have at Bonnaroo... maybe it can be helpful to some:
Awesome blog girlie I also use some of those products - Bare Minerals ( so easy and quick to brush on and stays on all day! It is however a little messy....)
OBs - I have used them since I was a teenager and never understood why people use the other brands...
Cottonelle Wipes are what I used for Roo last year and they are pretty thick - I will buy them again this year.
I am going to try that Photofinish primer now - I always wondered if it worked
Super awesome blog! Karma for that. I'm a Bare Minerals person, too. It has SPF in it!
If you can use OB's, trippindaisy, you might want to try either the Diva cup (listed in the blog) or Instead. Personally, I love Instead: www.softcup.com/product/what_is_softcup.php Theoretically, you're supposed to change them every 12 hours, but (like with the Diva cup), I merely empty, wash and reinsert. I use one per cycle. Way cheaper than tampons. And ThatBoy says he can't even feel it, during intercourse! I'd use the Diva, but you can't keep it in for sex. It's like having zero downtime, on that score. It's certainly not for the squeamish, but for anyone who can handle an OB, you might want to consider either the Diva or Instead.

it just needs to be shortened..like every other item of clothing in my life
You too? I swear that I could clothe the world with remnants cut off the bottom of skirts, dresses, pants...it's ridiculous. And then there's the problem of spaghetti straps which are too long, as well. I've been sticking with sundresses which either have halter ties or adjustable straps. If you can adjust the dress to ride higher, sometimes I don't even have to shorten it!
yeah i have trouble with spaghetti straps too but i usually just safety pin them, but lately alot of stuff i get has adjustable straps ;D
and soulmate, thanks for the offer ;D i think it will be okay actually ;D
Perfect Becca, But really send it to Canada if you want a liner put into it. Or just grab a friend. I can tell ya the easiest way to do it yourself. Lay the garment on a table inside out, then take a piece of material you want to put into it, It can even be sheer material, anyways, cut out a pattern, then take that piece, sew it into (With a needle and thread if ya like) sew the edge of your lining onto the SEAM for the garment itself. You can do the same for the front and the back. Super duper easy. (Or just send it to me.....)

Wow what a concept.... I might just have to try that Thanks for the tip!!

Instead works well. The removal is a bit tricky the first time but once you get the idea of it...way more comfortable and doesnt make you "dry" like some other things can.
for those of you who like mineral makeup. sephora sells a type that is not messy at all. it comes in a plastic jar of sorts with a little sponge attached to the top. to apply, you turn it upside down and shake a bit. this loads the powder into the sponge which is attached. you then just sponge it on. it doesnt spill out at all.
i bought this becuase i grew tired of cleaning the makeup off my countertop and i hate when it gets on my shirt. when i wore the sponge out i just attahed another sponge using a rubber band. also....i have bought some of the cheaper mineral makeups and they worked fine - especially with the sponge application technique.

after reading this whole thread, I feel so connecte to ya'll!
I am a super girly-girl, but I am comfortable doing things in life without my makeup on.
I've gotten so many great fashion ideas for this year's roo now! Last year was my first roo, and my boyfriend and I got to go by the skin of our teeth, so I was mostly wearing shorts, crocs, and tank tops.
This year though I would love to invest in some cute sundresses, and other cute accessories! I would also love to try the body glide product.. I suffered from the "chub rub" and got a little rashy between my thighs last year, so it was a pain.
But we should all have a get together and meet up and get all glammed up for atleast one show! It would fantastic!
last year I went with my two roommates and my boyfriend, so 3 girls and 1 guy. And our neighbors were in the exact same situation, lol. So we outnumbered them 6 to 2
I mentioned this in the other thread but I can't stress how much of a !light bulb! awesome thing it was.
Have a sarong or some similar material in your day pack or whatever. If you are averse to the whole body drench in the fountain, get it wet and enjoy it like portable air conditioning, nice on your shoulders. Also helpful on the second day if you got sunburned, it's light and doesn't get too hot to drape on your shoulders.
Chapstick or some kind of lip moisturizer. Chapped lips can happen here, and nothing is more annoying to me.
And hay look, some one else from Cleveland. Sup!
Still not sure if I'll be able to go this year, I'm kind of waiting on the lineup.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
I am seriously fretting over not having a blowdryer for four days.
dude just put ur hair in a bandana. i dont take mine off at all the entire weekend at any fest - except to change bandanas or reapply...
I completely agree - bandanas are the best thing ever for your hair. Doesn't matter if your hair is a greasy rat's nest if it's under a piece of cotton - plus it protects your scalp from the sun.
This year I think i"m going to try different types of scarves as well.

yah, i have lots of different prettyful scarves that i use ;D
to anyone who uses bare minerals, do you get itchy face when you start to sweat? my face gets unbearably itchy when I even get warm with bare minerals on. i don't know if i'm allergic to it or what, but i got a sampler of everyday minerals a while ago and it doesn't make me itchy at all. it's also cheaper. i'm going to order it instead of bare minerals. bm is too yellow for my skin tone anyway.
last year i only wore cargo capris all weekend except sunday night i wore long pants. i'd like to wear a skirt or dress but i'm strictly a thong (or smaller) wearer and i just can't do skirts with a bare ass. it just feels strange.

Have you guys heard of the Kariza sarongs/skirts/dresses??? It was my absolute best investment (clothing wise) for Bonnaroo. Actually, for the whole summer. They come with a DVD that shows you how to wear the sarong in a million different ways. Skirts/tops/dresses. And they come in beautiful patterns. I bought mine off Ebay from vintage_silk_wraps but I think other users sell them as well. One issue I had was that the skirt was just a LITTLE see thru but I wear booty shorts with skirts anyway so it's all good
I was just looking at those on ebay today and LOVE them. My only concern is how the silk will feel when I'm sweating buckets at Roo. Any advice on that?

I didn't have a problem. I wore those biker shorts what whisk away sweat under all my skirts last year. In 05 the "chub rub" (as I so lovingly call it) hit me pretty hard. Since then I have not made the mistake of wearing skirts to Roo without those shorts underneath. Shorts, take the sweat and chaffing away, you're good to go.
