Oh, and just as an aside, I remember reading that Sarah Jessica Parker (when stuck for blotting paper) snags a tissue paper potty seat cover from the bathroom and uses that. Apparently, it works just fine as a blotter!

I just wanted to leave a makeup comment. I know I mentioned it earlier but Revlon Color Stay Foundation is amazing. They make different types for normal, dry and oily skin. It is oil free and stays on all day. [[Their description:Description SoftFlex comfort technology. Looks fresh, feels great all day; Oil-free shine control; Natural flawless look; Won't rub off with normal activity. Made in U.S.A.]]
They also make a active foundation with the same color stay technology. [[Description: SPF 25. Sweatproof, light coverage. What it Does: Gives you light, sweatproof coverage with SPF 25 that keeps you with your active lifestyle. How it Works: Exclusive ColorStay formula is sweatproof and breathable for a fresh all-day look that won't rub off, even after exercise. SoftFlex technology for lightweight, all day comfort that feels like you're not wearing makeup. Oil-free. Non-pore-clogging. Non-irritating. Made in U.S.A. with U.S. and Non-U.S. components.]] www.revlon.com
Also I use it with a setting powder (I use dermablend setting powder) and it makes it even more smudge/water/sweat proof...the powder also mattifies the face leaving no signs of shine. [[ Description: Dermablend Setting Powder is made of micronized talcs that set make-up and reinforce wearability. Setting Powder is the key to Dermablend Cosmetics long-lasting, smudge-resistant wearability and is strongly recommended. Setting Powder is transparent upon application and should be applied generously over dry makeup. The benefits of using Setting Powder are: - Creates smudge-resistant wear - Creates water-resistant wear - Ensures 16 hours of flawless wear ]] www.dermablend.com

I don't have breakouts now like I did when I was younger, but I occasionally get the few blemishes here and there.
I like to use noxema.. I know, old school. And biore makes an ice cleanser that's AMAZING. It feels super cold when you wash it off, and helps wake me up in the morning.
I also use a moisterizer.. clean and clear I believe! It's the BEST! It hydrates your face for your makeup and is wonderful.
So girls don't forget to bring your favorite face wash to the farm! I would have died if I couldn't washed my face at last year's roo!
I get major chaffing so usually when I know it'll be hot and gross outside I wear Under Armour. It is amazing and there is even a heat sensitive kind. Last year I went to Coachella and wore them under pants and I was fine. But granted it's dry heat there which I find way better than humidity.
I just don't understand why anyone would wear make up at 'roo - I mean - it is 100 degress - I just think if I had foundation on - it would just make me feel hotter - last year - I used make-up remover clothes to wash my face in the morning and that was it - it got the dirt and grime off without being harse like a babywipe might be on the face.
I wear makeup for the extra sun protection factor...I'm 44 and I think my skin looks much younger because I'm such a die-hard about never leaving the house with a bare face. I wear two types of sunscreen (one that blocks UVA/UVB but is only SPF 15), then another SPF 50, plus foundation with sunscreen. I doubt I'll be using foundation at 'Roo, though...sounds like a waxy mess! I will, however, be wearing a wide-brimmed hat at all times.

Oh - I wear makeup at home for the same reason - but at 'roo - all I ever thought about was slathering on the highest SPF I could find and going - mid day - wiping my face and reapplying more sunblock

What was up with all the overly made up girls last year? I saw sooo many chicks with perfect hair and makeup and they were wearing...heels!! couldn't believe it! I can barely wear heels for an hour on stable ground let alone on roo turf all freakin day!

my first roo in 05 I did a tinted spf foundation, loose powder and mascara it was just force of habit to bring stuff since I wear it everyday...but since then I've whittled it down to tinted spf (my skin gets super blotchy in the sun) and that's pretty much it. You will sweat everything off in the first hour and after the first day you won't even care! Roo is not beauty contest there is no need to go out of your way to impress anyone which is the beauty of it.
P.S. the worst part about makeup at roo is trying to put it on in a 120 degree tent with hardly any light because you're too embarrassed to do it outside where people will see you putting it on...you end up sweating half of it off in the darn tent!
"If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has the power to move you, if the simple things in nature have a message you understand, Rejoice, for your soul is alive."
I just used a tinted super-high spf on my face last year. I almost added water-proof mascara but figured it would just drip down my face from all the sweat
Body Shop makes Tea Tree wipes for cleaning your face. They are awesome because the medicinal Tea Tree smell is actually refreshing on the farm, Tea Tree is an antiseptic so it cleans off grime and also gets rid of germs and worked like those face wipes, but i also used ont he body with ease. Highly recommend them - will probably bring the same pack I took to Bonnaroo last year.
I am a woman who usually wears concealer, powder foundation and sometimes even a primer but at Bonnaroo all I wore was waterproof mascara and lip balm because my lashes are light and short and I am a mascara-holic. I had makeup because of the trip down (we visited people) but it never left the truck. I was constantly wiping my face on my tapestry, my skirt, and rinsing it to keep it cool (and constantly reapplying sunscreen) so makeup would have become a muddy mess
i was spraying my face directly with a spray bottle every 10 seconds and reapplying high spf very frequently. i dont think any make up would hold up with that. though i do recommend a high spf chapstick! your lips are the most sensative part of your skin because they dont produce their own oils!
hey everyone. man-you're gone a few days from the site and there are a million posts in this thread. anyways, i love the fact that we are all sharing girly stuff for bonnaroo, because that's definitely something that i worried about last year. since i'm pretty insecure, it's nice to see what you all do to make 'roo a little less stressful when it comes to girly things. anyways, wanted to share these sites with you: www.hippieshop.com and www.gypsyrose.com i have been surfing these two all day (even during class when I was supposed to be working ) and i know that alyroo already showed you guys gypsyrose, but i just wanted to bring it up, too, because it has a ton of amazing stuff. there are so many things that i want to get...and then there's more than just women's stuff.
^^^my daughter has that bag and I love hippieshop one of my skirts the first year came from there - then I discovered embay - last year I found an awesome tie dyed skirt and only paid $8 for it
Hi everyone, I'm new to the board but a 3 year vet to roo. Every year I have gone I have done skirts and dresses. I like the breeze ;D A good place to shop for cheap, kind of disposable dresses is forever21.com. I just bought these 3 dresses and the are super cheap and bonnaroo worthy.

ilove gypsy rose, being a girl with curves its nice to be able to order clothing somewhere and have it fit perfectly! and their products are made really well.
and iheartroo: i absolutly love the bottom dress! very cute

^^^that is what I am screaming - curvy girls unite!
I used foundation basically for the light spf it provides - plus I was in VIP and it gave me an excuse to be at the mirror a few extra mins in the A/C bathrooms.
Silly, I know.
And I got a Kariza last year. I wore it as a skirt on friday I think, with spandex shorts underneath. It don't remember being uncomfortable. Wearing it as a dress may be a bit different. There are different lengths - so be aware of that when you buy em. (for the skinny people the shorter length might help bulkiness).
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
So with the Karizas, what did you all do about a bra? None? Strapless? Visable straps?
Last year I only brought tops with some sort of strap that would at least line up with my bra strap, even if they didn't cover them fully.
I'm doing bikini tops instead of bras during the day this year. Otherwise, I would say strapless (my jugs are too big to go braless), but I refuse to wear anything uncomfortable at Roo
Anyone ever heard of Nubra? It's a strapless bra that sticks on to you...reusable many, many times. I've worn it in the heat and humidity without a problem.
^^good call on the spf chapstick! i never go anywhere w/o my chapstick!
Me too!
And I discovered last roo, the best place to keep your chapstick (as long as it's one of the traditional small tubes) is in your bikini top! ;D If it's a triangle type top the chapstick fits perfectly right under your boob! lol Strange, I know, but since I'm always re-applying and I don't carry a bag or anything with me, it's the best place! ;D
