sanuks are easy to hose off. you can totally get them dirty and wash them. they are fairly thin and dry fairly quickly too.
if you cannot return the sanuks that are too small try this. take a straight razor or sharp knife and put some tiny cuts in the elastic part that makes the shoe fit. then put a couple of tiny cuts on each side of the ankle area. the shoes are already distressed and it doesnt make them look bad - actually its sorta cute. they wont rip out more as long as you make small cuts with a very sharp knife. if you are concerned about them ripping out just take a few stitches around the area to seal it. i did this to mine and now they fit PERFECTLY. if you cant fix them then you might try selling them on ebay.
my roommate bought them off me & she'll be wearing them to Roo. I'm gunna have to order another pair soon.. and one size bigger.

I'm definitely getting a pair of Sanuks now, as my all-around summer shoe. And MAYBE a pair of Crocs for Bonnaroo and the beach if I can afford it. And My gf might get a pair of Marry Janes or a pair of Sanuks. Great topic, thanks.

The great thing about Sanuks (aside form being super comfy for days on end) is that if they DO get muddy/dusty/dirty you can just chuck them in the washing machine and then right into the dryer, without doing any sort of damage.
And yes, if they get wet they do air dry very quickly...

Well you can't chuck them in the washer at Roo I'm stuck between the brown 'No Sweat' and the brown and orange 'Donny' on their website.
Also, nobody answered how Sanuks and Crocs are for Dancing. This is very important to me as I'll probably bring both to Bonnaroo and I LOVE to D.A.N.C.E. =)
^^^^ Great for dancing...they fit well enough to always stay on your feet and still be comfortable. You can pretty much dance like you were wearing any normal shoe...or no shoes at all!
And no, while you cant throw them in the wash at 'Roo, I did find that pouring a little water over/through them at the end of the day/night was a good thing, if you have the H20 to spare.

i know lots of people have been praising the hell out of crocs but i wore them to Lolla last year and although they were great for the first 2 days, by the end of the 3rd i have a blister on my heel roughly the size of two thumbs.

Gotta say carpedm...sanuk should be giving you some kind of compensation for this thread. I was totally convinced to buy a pair of 'sidewalk surfers'. Only problem is I bought a pair of kerouac's, then I checked online and noticed that there were some different one's that I wanted instead. Will probably take the kerouac's back.
Anyways, would have never known about them until I saw this thread...Much obliged, they are unbelievably comfortable.

You don't wear socks with sidewalk surfers right? That doesn't cause blisters?? I am not a sneaker person and I can't stand socks so I need something that won't kill my feet besides flip flops and crocs

Nope, no socks and def. no blisters. The body of the shoe is a very soft flexible canvas w/ just enough elastic on the heel to make sure it stays on your foot - but not enough to cause a blister. The inside of the sole is a soft synthetic cushion that does a good job of cushioning your foot while still allowing plenty of room.
Trust me, I have gotten blisters from Rainbows, Burks, Tevas etc. etc. This was the first summer shoe I ever owned that never required the slightest bit of "breaking in" and that never gave me a blister.

I am in the process of ordering mine now. I was gonna wear crocs but I am worried about blisters cause of the rubbery material and hot feet at roo. So Sanuks are the way to go?
I got mine at shoes.com and the shipping was free. Been wearing as much as possible to "test" them and can hionestly say they are extremely comfortable with no blistering at all.
Converse:Chuck Taylor All-stars (big ole canvas high tops). BTW, this was merely a test. Just make sure you bring 2 pair of whatever. Just like they told us in Viet Nam, keep your feet clean and dry. Tennessee weather changes hourly. It may be sunny sandal weather and a while later a monsoon.

im a sanuks girl, however, i found a pair of waterproof tevas at ross in nashville for 19.99 yesterday and got them tax free to boot. they are sorta like suede - but somehow supposed to be ok to wear in wet conditions. they are a dark brown. they were in the mens section but they had to be either boys or womens in the wrong section. they had a couple more pair and some other shoes as well. the store was a bit of a wreck due to the tax free thing going on here this weekend - but i think you can find a few things if you need them. my friend got some columbia "mandals' for like 12.99 - they are really nice. they will make nice back up shoes for roo.
they had a lot of sports bras for like 3.99 and some of the bike type shorts on clearance too. ( i know a lot of us gals like those for roo). my friend got a pair of CK mens shorts (olive and the softest material) for about 19.99.
i tried a pair on at REI the other day. i know they tend to run a little small, so i tried on a pair of 13s since i normally wear a 12. they still felt a little snug even though i was wearing socks with them. i probably wouldn't wear socks if i wore the shoes, so should i think about going up higher than a 13 or would that be too big?

Going sans socks should do the trick...but if not, there are a couple of strategic pieces of elastic you can make small snips in to loosen the fit even more.

i bought some sanuks and they were way tight in the front but slipping off of my heel... so i returned those and bought a pair of sandals called "revelation" from Aerosoles. they are ugly as hell but super comfy!!!
