I'm doing this. www.greendevil.com They get around the legal stuff by selling the real herbs and you make it yourself with Everclear and Vodka. works kinda like making tea.

As to how it tastes, well it tastes like a dog with no nose smells. Terrible ;D
On one other note as far as I can tell while jagermeister was used as a cough syrup, it has never contained codeine. Is this why they made robitussin taste like Jager?
1) It is easily THE worst tasting liquor I've ever had. Tasted very medicine-ee, very boozey. Made me whince...trust me you won't enjoy it. But I'm sure, like me, you'll sacrifice your tastebuds to try and basically trip on liquor. Hence, numero two...
2) I didn't trip. I drank a whole bottle, about the size of a bottle of ice wine, and got nothing but the standard buzz, nothing heavy, no trails, no audio special effects. I didn't get weiner. The only thing I got was queasy.
Save it for your wacky booze shelf on your bar, w/the grappa, pocheen, and whatever other crazy stuff you aquire, but trust me, at Bonnaroo, you'd be better served drinking antifreeze, than that rancid piss.....sorry to be a buzzkill...
I agree. Similar experience (tried several varieties) but we didn't bother with sugar cubes. Definitely would not bring to 'roo, especially for first-timers. It's similar to Jager with the liquorice flavor, and even though it's been over 2 years since I tried it, I still have trouble drinking Jager because of it. Definitely not sweet like a port - not tasty either. I have seen a brand called Lucid on U.S. shelves, don't know if it's the official thing or not
I would suggest some sort of margarita instead. We found a great recipe from Rachel Ray on the Food Network for Grapefruit margaritas.
1 quart ruby red grapefruit juice 10 fresh mint leaves , torn in 1/2 2 shots orange liqueur 8 shots tequila
Combine all the ingredients in a pitcher and stir to combine. Pour over ice and serve.
It was a little sour w/the grapefruit for us, so we changed the recipe up a bit. I only measure by looking, but we add less grapefruit juice and more Sprite instead. I also like about a tsp of grenadine added to each serving. Very light and tasty.

Jager that has a black cross above the stag's head does indeed contain codeine. You can only acquire "black cross jager" in Austria and Germany. They don't even sell it in the Netherlands.
^Never heard that, and I speak German and spent 15 minutes looking on the official German site. I would love to see a link to your source. I did find a Jager black label, but the only difference is that is 100 proof.
Well I have been to Germany several times on extened trips, My girlfriend lived in Gottingen for 5 years neither of us had ever heard that either. Now you can buy codeine relatively easily in Germany more like sudafed here after all the new anti meth laws. But it is not dispensed over the counter exactly. All that being said you are right I do not have your experience so I will take it at face value.
