This would be my first year at Bonnaroo, but I was wondering... I know the DMB have almost always been there, but they're not on the list yet, do you think it's likely that they'll be added? Also, how about Trey Anastasio who's not on the list either?

Trey is playing with Oysterhead. DMB was only there last year I think, Dave and friends in the years past. I would doubt DMB as I am sure they would want to be headlinders and those spots are filled.

The guy was so freaking drunk last year, and yes Dave has been the Friday night headliner at the last two roos, and to the rejoice of many in the roo community i do not think he will be added he just made an ass out of himself last year in between songs

I think the biggest reason people dislike or dont want to see dmb there is not because of the music, but just because its nothing new anymore. I used to love them, and still enjoy their music, but id like them, and him, to sit out this roo, iv seen them enough. Unfortunatly i dont think his shows vary that much either, not really a band you can see 10 times and see 10 different shows, like an umphreys.
We have gone to about 20+ DMB shows. Last fall at MSG in New York was a little dull. I think the best was at Central Park. Yea you are right about people being totaly gone at his shows...A little drunk is OK, but falling down and no control is another. Oh well, This is a nice line up so far...
He was drunk last year? Even so, it was the best DMB show i saw live.
They are about to announce their summer tour dates, so there still might be a chance they, or he will be there. And if not, itll be interesting to see where exactly they will be that part of June, cause guest spots arent out of question. You never know who will show up at the 'Roo
I don't really think dave has much to off as far as sit ins go. I mean he's had numerous people play with his band but I dont' see him being able to offer anything to another band if he were to sit in. I think he would get lost.
Come on, give him some credit! He's a pretty good musician, and while his guitar parts aren't exactly virtuoso they still pose a challenge for the seasoned guitarist, all the members of his band are outstanding musicians, and they've managed to come up with a great midpoint between commercial and "good music". I realise they don't take their songs as far as other jam bands, but they still do their groovy intros which are, in my opinion, really cool in that they accomplish what they are for: introduce the tune and make the listener want to hear it. Also, while they may not go as far as to explore all the possibilities of their songs, the songs certainly are full of possibilities for improvisation as you can see if you try to improvise over one or hear, for example, Victor Wooten playing #41.
As for Dave and his fans being absolutely out in performances, I have nothing to say for that. It is a bit disappointing to see someone so talented making a fool of himself and the community doing the same. Which is not to say he's not one of my favourite musicians and his band is one of my fav bands, and I'm sure I'll never tire of seeing them live.
I'm not a Dave fan but I'll give him credit. His guitar parts are good and he's an incredible songwriter. But since were talking sit-ins I just don't see him doing anything for any other band. His songs allow for others to jam on and I like what i've heard when he has guests. I just can't see him joining another band on stage, unless it was for some cover that he knew about ahead of time. Not that spontanious heat of the moment jamming that so many can do. Not to discredit him, it's just not his style.
I'd give him a chance. I don't know if he's ever done it, but since he's a talented musician, I think he could probably do something like that. Maybe it isn't exactly his thing, but I've no doubt that he'd be a pretty cool guest.

I dont think hed be a great addition on the guitar, but i think his vocals could be a cool addition to some of the bands here, but those wouldnt really the bigger bands. Looking at that i doubt he sits in with a smaller band.

i was at msg as well...night two..and it was in my opinion one of his best...amazing show...i dont get to wasted befor ethe show but i dont know hwo it bothers people....if you are there for hte music..fuck the people around you
The only way Dave would guest on a song is with vocals. He's done this a few times in the past and he might carry a guitar out, but he doesn't do much playing on it. I think he just feels more comfortable with it. I would think the likeliest place he might show up is on Mike Doughty's set, since he sang on Tremedous Brunette's on Doughty's latest album. But with that said, I highly doubt we will see any form of the band there.
Dave actually was featured in a Blue Man Group song called "Sing Along." It's one of his best works, I think, aside from "Satelite."
The video for that song is a lot of fun. Dave has done many collaborations, with Santana, Soulive, Angelique Kidjo. DMB is collaborating with J5 for J5's new single of their new album coming out.

Yeah, I agree. DMB fans are sometimes obnoxious, but I would rather have obnoxious fans than an obnoxious band/band member. I saw Oasis last year and Liam was the cockiest sh*t i have ever seen. It kinda pissed me off. He would do things like step in front of his brother, Noel, and stretch out his arms to the crowd...sorta saying "acknowledge me." It really wasn't cool.

yeah, i used to kind of like oasis, but they had such a reputation of being such asses that i pretty much gave up on them......did you hear about the unplugged appearance where liam refused to play and he sat in the balcony and yelled at noel? and on the coachella movie, noel goes on this big rant about how "music is for entertainment purposes only" (as in, musicians should not try to make any sort of statement at all).....i still kind of like the music, but i just can't listen to it

You know why all of these losers are dissing DMB it is because when you are on top people are going to hate you. If you don't like Dave fine but you don't have to open your stupid uneducated mouths and say the man and his band are not talented and all people who watch DMB are drunk. That would be like me saying all the people who watch widespread smell bad and eat acid. Opinions are like aholes everyone has one. PS- 2 days of widespread at the roo last year give me a break talk about being washed up I almost fell asleep they were so boring.
