no one is going to pay $200 (or more...) to see Death Cab for Cutie or Bright Eyes. If anything, people would throw down that much money to see Radiohead, if their only goal was to see one artist.
But if they are really spending that much money on 'Roo, then they probably aren't going to be douches once they get there. Just my thoughts.

I just wanted to mention this:

Wow, an angle not too many people look at, this is exactly why we do not have to worry about things being drastically different.
i hear ya... in the end im sure it will be problem free, but just to be myself i will throw out there that expensive events have been messed up in the past...im sure eveything will be great this year... i am more worried about what roo will be 4 years from now but ill worry about that in4 years

Yeah the festival thing is more of a commitment than a simple show or whatever... I mean i wouldnt blow money on a festival with only 2 or 3 bands i've heard of or am curious enough to check out. Bottom line is that Bonnaroo is branching out a bit and some of those branches reach into the mainstream to an extent... It may or may not be something to be scared of concerning the future of bonnaroo but i dont feel as though it will ruin things anytime soon... My only gripe is that if Bonnaroo wants to truely diversify and offer something to everyone it needs to preserve its roots and continue to be a competator in the jamband circuit as well as other national festivals like coachella and sasquatch... I dont think the roo should be exclusively "jamband" or whatever you want to call it but i do feel that the community deserves more representation this year... With that said, bring on the additions.
ya...we have gotten screwed on the additions, oysterhead and les i dont even count as additions they were basically inital lineup....scofield with phil is great news but not another true addition... i hope they get these ones we already know of out of the way and throw us another bone soon...these announcements lose thier effect when ya hear about them 3 weeks before the offical announcement
