Why is such a bad thing if they did come? They offer up a new sound that really hasn't been at Bonaroo. I am all about Jam bands and sticking to the roots, but the roo is about all different kinds of music. I personally would be really excited if they came. For an emo/pop punk band they are really talented.

It would be a bad thing.....because they suck. I am up for all different kinds of music too but I really don't see the talent here. I see a generic band created soley for the purpose of selling an image and cd's to a generation who is easily impressioned. What is emo/pop/punk....I know MCR is definatly not punk...to me punk died along time ago. Anyways...I agree with the post above...if they were added to the list...I might throw up in my mouth a little.

id say if pop is used in a description of an act they probably dont belong at roo

i thought i was shroomin when Bo came out last year. Well, i was shroomin, but i thought it wasnt happening. And to make it worse, i went back and told my friends, who were at the show, but i left them, that Bo was there, and they said they didnt see him, so i further though i was hallucinating it.

it fluctuates from day to day.... depending on tensions in the middle east, natural disasters and what not... its been as high as 14 and as low as like -17.....
Hey Kimmy, I can pinpoint the exact moment that punk died. It happened when Fugazi went on their "hiatus." They were the last band that wasn't drivel aimed at 15 year olds wearing girl pants and pink hair.
Keith, I think you and I are the only ones with negative karma...we should meet up at bonnaroo and talk about how bad life sucks then chase all that down with shots of jack daniels.

i hear ya.. with all of this bad karma they will probably confiscate our bottle, remove us from roo, kick us in the nuts and drop us off in middle of nowhere tennesee for some deliverance shiit....

Kimmy, I think you might just be my new best friend. Punk rock is dead and I have been in mourning for about a decade now (I feel like a punk without a home). This neo-punk/emo scene is a terrible replacement and should not be considered any form of punk. No true punk would whine that much. I agree with the lot of you who say that bonnaroo is about bringing about different kinds of music. However, it must be further qualified that the music is of some kind of quality. I might not like Bright Eyes a whole bunch, but I can respect his appearence at bonnaroo because he is talented and really into the heart of the music. MCR lacks this talent and heart. Beside the fact that their sound isn't very good, it is clearly cleaned-up in the studio and probably does not make a good live show. Furthermore, the band appears to be more about the image than about the music. Sorry if I offended any My Chemical Romance fans, but you need to re-evaluate your perspective on music.

actually i do not believe i have ever heard them outside of a commercial during beavis and butthead or jackass....i will go as far as saying that they shouldnt be within a hundered mile of bonnaroo... but to tell someone else to reevaluate their perspective is harsh... i would think that they would have a more clear perception of their own tastes then you would....
It might be harsh, but sometimes the truth hurts. You're right, they do have a more clear perception of their taste than I do, but that doesn't prove that their perception is a good one. I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that most music professionals, musicians and otherwise "music-oriented" people know that My Chemical Romance is not a quality band. Look at their fanbase, its mostly kids age 12-18 who don't otherwise have a clue as to what good music is. Show me a MCR fan who also likes Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and other classic artists, and I'll be very suprised.

MCR is horrible, I cant believe there is a thread about them on a Bonnaroo board. There are much better things to chat about, like.........Who's ready for Round 4????!!!!!!!!.......lol

yea they suck cuz their not hippes and dont smoke weed and wear tie dye shirts(nothing against people who do ).... actually theyre a good band for their genre its totally different from fallout boy and other bands like that and yes they do have talent and they dont sound band live....and although it would be different having them there it wouldnt be terrible

I heard that they tried to get Destiny's Child, but they declined the $5,000,000 pay out to perform a reunion show.
oh and too that giant douche who said matisyahu is ruining bonnaroo your an idiot he has incredible talent and is a great musician and its sad that someone who has less talent than him like yourself is knocking him thats pretty lame guys... maybe it would just be better for some of you guys if everyone just wore tye shirts grew their hair long and played jam band music the whole time

maybe you should actually read what we are talking about before ya go being an idiot....you should be getting to sleep soon ya dont wanna be late for class..... and dont forget trl..its a big day tommorow.....do you notice that it isnt a jam band thing? noone is talkin about lyrics born, or atmospher or shooter jennings or grace potter only about the mainstream collection... which i also keep forgetting to include common into so theres another one to the list
They did, however, get TLC! They even revived the dead one for a one night festival reuinion gig in middle-of-nowhere Tennesee! HALLELUJAH!
