I think this announcement stomps some major colons, seeing Cypress Hill for us hip hop fans is kind of like seeing a Crosby Stills and Nash, maybe even a Tom Petty, for the classic rock oriented bunch. They may not do anything new, but you want to see those old classics get dusted off one more time. Electric Eel schock bring a much needed does of punk rock to the mix, some times you just want to go bezerk. Deadboy and the Elephant man are great rock and roll, and the Refugee Allstars are one of the most inspirational, and culturally imporatant groups of our time. Oh, and even though they were already mentioned, Lyrics Born and Blackalicoius kick ass. I don't know the Streets well. If they blow, fuck em.
And now SaintCash gives his two cents. At first I was disappointed, but then I heard some Refugee all stars and realized that I still like cypress hill. Also, the last good mtv show (the name escapes me) turned me on to Kings Of Leon. It also had a segment about electric eel shock. This was years ago. Also, wakarusa announcing Flaming Lips gives me hope.

Most Jam Band fans probably have made their decision to go to 'Roo already and the addition of Jam Bands will probably come later just to put the frosting on their cake.
Okay, I'm holding out my cake now. Let's frost this mother!!
And a cherry on top too, please...

Haven't checked the board since last nite:
ATL - I'm looking forward to Tortured Soul, but they aren't electronic at all (it's "live soulful house", all trad. live instruments). And I really don't like The Streets AT ALL, so I'm not psyched about that. When I say "live electronics," I'm talking Squarepusher, Luke Vibert, Machine Drum, Mouse on Mars, etc.
attonaroo -- If The Streets open for Sasha late night, I'll just show up after The Streets are done. I hope this doesn't happen, b/c Sasha needs a super-extended late-night set to really give his full experience to the roo -- white British hip-hop doesn't need to cut in on his time, IMO.

At first I was dissapointed with the announcement but then I went to the Refugee All-Stars site and listened to em and its great stuff. Then I read that Dax the lead singer of Acid Bath and Agents of Oblivion is Deadboy's singer. Sure enough he is still makin some good music. One of my friends im going with like Cypris Hill more than i do but im lookin forward to some INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE! The rap thsi year is ok but i think a little weak when you think about The Roots and J5. Now though im real happy about round 4 and lookin foward to seeing 2 new bands.
I think i just had a sort of revelation...I was kind of upset about this year's line up and the round 4 addition but, after really looking at it and listening to some of the round 4 addition. I'm actually really excited about this year. This has got to be the most diverse festival of the summer. When I looked at the jam bands I realized all my favorite ones are there and Ive always thought bonnaroo lacked some good hard rock and well electric eel shock has got that covered this year(still hoping for the mars volta though). This might just be the best year afterall...
