dudewheresmyroo, are you the one who smited me for making a comparison to pink floyd? Yea it might be cliche to compare them but, thats really the first band i could think to compare them to.
The comparison makes sense.
I just can't wait until you all get to see them live. Fans that haven't seen them yet will go wild, and there will surely be thousands of converts. If they can back off their pre-judging long enough to give it a chance.
I amended my list upthread to get the Refugee Allstars in my top 10. Had to cut Bill Frissell to do so and keep it at 15 , although I'm pretty certain I'll be catching his set.
Any chance we can keep this thread about the Power Rankings and move the great Radiohead debate elsewhere if it is ongoing?
OK let me just make one more comment before I get back on-topic....
Keith, sorry for the "smelly hippie" comment, I was just retaliating for the "crazy fanboy" comment. I have no problem with you expressing your opinion... I just think you could do so in a way that makes you sound like less of a snob/jerk... I think you tend to make snide little passive aggressive quips intended to make anyone who doesn't share your opinion feel like they must surely be a tiny minority... maybe I am just being defensive because I am exactly the type of person you've been expressing so much concern over: a 'roo newcomer who probably wouldn't be there if it weren't for radiohead, beck, ben folds, etc... speaking of which, here's my power rankings:
1. Radiohead 2. Whoever is on the main stage before Radiohead 3. Ben Folds 4. Beck 5. My Morning Jacket 6. Elvis Costello 7. Tom Petty 8. Death Cab For Cutie 9. G. Love & Special Sauce 10. Matisyahu 11. Gomez 12. Blues Traveler 13. The Dresden Dolls 14. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah 15. Oysterhead 16. Nickel Creek 17. Bright Eyes 18. Dios (Malos) 19. Damian Marley 20. Les Claypool 21. Sonic Youth 22. Neville Brothers 23. Sasha 24. Stephen Malkmus 25. Cypress Hill

And then several more I can't quite rank because they fall under "Ehg, I'll check it out"
1. Radiohead 2. Beck 3. Ben Folds 4. My Morning Jacket 5. Bright Eyes 6. Andrew Bird 7. Gomez 8. Stephen Malkmus 9. Cat Power 10. DCFC 11. Bela Fleck 12. moe. 13. Nickel Creek 14. MMW 15. Son Volt 16. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
