Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
the only sphongle i think i have heard is a remix by Sasha on his Involver album. BOC should so something like the slient disco where we all have headphones..i could dig that.
ok so here is a video of some live shpongle, they use a couple live instruments, psychedelic light show, they have a whole Shaman hallucinogen primitive type theme going which i think would fit right in for some bonnaroo late nighters
I'm very much in favor of adding a good bit of electronica to the Roo lineup, but it's not even worth mentioning Boards of Canada. They turn down Coachella pretty much every year, and there would be a larger draw for them there. It's just not gonna happen.

I agree totally, but still i think Roo needs to get its act together regarding these types of artists...there just needs to be more of them.

I agree. I'd be happy with just any increase in electronic music, but ideally we'd specifically be seeing more of many types, like IDM and experimental stuff, and not just trance or psychedelic acts that supposedly bridge the gap between jambands and electronic. Nothing against that type of music whatsoever, I'd just like to see a well-rounded representation.

i really dig this...is this from a dvd or what?
not sure what it's from, but it looks pro shot, bring on shpongle!

I've been waiting since my first Roo to see Boards Of Canada. As a late-night set, they would be simply mind-blowing! They are about auditory perfection (IMHO). Smooth and graceful, complex and soothing, they would be a perfect way to wind things down on saturday night. It won't ever happen, but I would really like to see a sunrise set. Then I could die happy.

i like the diesel boy suggestion... along those same dnb lines, how about some jekkyl and hyde, saw them once in atlanta and they killed it. it's been a long time since i've really listened to electronic music, but i always did have a soft spot for breakbeats... a big name like tiesto or dara would be fun. and i don't know any names of djs in this genre of electronic music, but i remember stumbling into a goa trance album back in high school, and that stuff is pretty wild too.

As long as they don't book some cheese trance DJ Teisto type we should be good. I would love to hear some bangin detroit/german techno, Jeff Mills/Hawtin/MANDY style or some tech/funky house, Eddie Richards/Garth etc. But please no progressive trance!!
i agree with the no cheesey big name trance djs like tiesto, A boards show would be so good at night, i'm about to watch the coachella 06 dvd, some squarepusher on it i wanna check out
i'd like to see a electronic set that was more of a show than just a dj set, of course i've never seen much electro except in video but like i said, the acts that include various instruments and "jams" catch my attention a little more.....

that's the great thing about electronic music, especially good djs, be it any section within the electronic music genre - you get crazy samples that they mix so well that it creates this fluid-jam-bass heavy dance vibe that is hard to experience anywhere else. granted, i wouldn't find myself riding around listening to this music, but in a live setting, it can seriously blow your mind - even if it isn't your cup of tea. if bonnaroo signs a good dj and he plays a late nighter, i highly encourage you to give it a try.

I saw Daft Punk at the Bang Festival in Miami in October and they were one of the coolest shows I have ever seen. A 2am - 4am tent Daft Punk show would be out of control. (And they were on Nol's list).
Personally, while I'd love for Bonnaroo to land a band like Fujiya & Miyagi or LCD Soundsystem...bands that honor the roots of electronica, are instrument oriented and are still very danceable bands that put on fairly entertaining shows.

ozric tentacles is an awesome electronic/psychadelic/jam band. not quite the same type of electronic as many mentioned here. but i think it sounds like what your saying. they were announced for wakarusa today and it has got me listening to them again. they would make for an incredible latenight at roo.
I haven't heard any buzz about this, but how sick would a late night set with Thom Yorke alone or possibly accompanied by Sasha on the tables and synths be......personally, would love it
^^^I'd be down for a Thom/Jonny collab. They've done it in the past. Adding a guy like Sasha to mix would probably be a little too left field, but they've performed with Nigel before. A Nigel/Thom/Jonny set would be spectacularly great and utterly unlikely.
I agree, highly unlikely. Thom and Jonny are my two faves from radiohead. Combining with Nigel would be insane too. I brought up Sasha b/c I saw a video on youtube where he's mixing the eraser at a club and it was out of this world. Apparently Thom LOVED playing bonnaroo last year, but then was quoted complaining about the emissions left by the thousands of people parked and waiting for entry. Said he wouldn't return until someone alleviated the problem. Read that on atease.web long time ago. Still fun to speculate.
