what have you seen? who do you hope or predict this year?
I know bonnaroo isn't geared towards this type of music, but with the "diverse" lineup i am guessing they will bring someone in,
I missed the sasha set last year, but from what i've heard it was a highlight, so I am hoping they bring in some better electro acts this year, maybe some really psychedelic sets like
Shpongle Boards of Canada Aphex Twin Squarepusher did i mention Shpongle already....

Yes to all of the above! More than anything else I'd love to see Venetian Snares, who is a bedroom artist from Winnipeg on μ-Ziq's label (who also should come to the farm) and who makes some of the most challenging, melt-your-face breakcore IDM. He is the best there is. Second to that would be the great Amon Tobin, whose new album "Foley Room" is phenomenal. I'd also take Daft Punk, Cibo Matto and Air. And of course Autechre. And Talvin Singh. And Spring Heel Jack. Oh, and múm... and Matmos.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
One of my favorite sets and definately my biggest surprise of Coachella last year was Daft Punk's set. Totally and utterly blew me away. No way they'll play 'Roo, but I agree that some similar sets should go down well.
Amon Tobin 6/21/02 and DJ Krush 6/12/05 have been my 2 favorite DJ sets at Roo. I've seen a bunch though, Wink, Farina, Logic, Chemist, and some random ones here and there. more than I can really name. whenever bored musically at the Roo, go to the Arcade tent. They're always wheelin' and dealin' in there.
This year, I'm hoping for Posford in any form as well as Shadow.
I also believe Air will be at Roo and that I will be front and center. Amon Tobin is someone I'd also like to return. I wasn't at 02 (03 was my first roo) so I missed him and would like to see him return.

I don't know if he really counts as a electronic artist so much as a mash-up artist with electronic sensibilities, but I'd love love love if Girl Talk was at 'Roo.
Underworld and Orbital. Those two acts would kill as late nighters.
Yes they would. Underworld, I hear puts on legendary live shows. FWIW Orbital, have been broken up since 2004. They do put on a hell of a show, but it seemed like they were doing the same show for the last five years they were touring. Not that I would mind hearing it again since they do mix it up enough.
Mylo, Manitoba, Ken Ishi, Shadow, Krush, Boards of Canada, The Go! Team, or Thievery Corporation would make for some nice additions.
Girl Talk puts on a pretty entertaining show for a "knob twirler" but that was in a dingy little club, where he invited everyone on stage with him. I dont know how well he would go over in a tent setting. He has a ton of samples, so a special Bonnaroo artists laced set would be pretty damn entertaining.
I've seen Aphex- very cool but I'm afraid some Roo'ers won't like the show (i.e. there is no show-- when I saw him he laid on a couch with an Apple Powerbook while giant colorful bears danced around him for three hours.
But hoping for Aphex is a good thing. Also: Death in Vegas!
I pretty much agree with everything everybody's posted, except I'd like to see some DnB action in there. Pendulum's live sets are pretty boring, but I'd rather have them than no DnB act at all. Ideally, I'd like to have somebody from Hospital spin.

yeah a band like Boards could play afternoon...kind of like Mouse on Mars in 05. i think id enjoy Air in the evening or latenight though. and as for underworld or anything of the like...definitely latenight
If they get Boards of Canada and they dont get a late night spot that would be one of the biggest travesties of this young century (I might be overstating that a little bit). You are talking about a band that rarely does shows (last one was at ATP in 2001) and has a pretty rabid fan base that would love to see them, so giving them just a 1.5 hour set in the middle of the day just would not seem right.
However, Air on the other hand seems perfect for an afternoon, maybe on Sunday where people are pretty spent already and they just want to chill out.
Also, The Books are going back on tour and I could see them fitting in pretty well day or night.

I've always felt kinda like boards of canada are a background type music. Just not uptempo enough for a late night. I would see them late night too, but i'd be fine with them in the day.
I get what you are saying, Ziggy. They doe have an atmospheric sound, but their latest album does pick it up a notch and I think that they could really mess with heads if they played at night.
But if Superfly does somehow get Boards to play, I think that they would have to entice them with a late night spot (or I guess a bunch of money could work too).
