I guess it would have been in '05 (can't believe it has been over a year) that I caught them at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago during their three night run and they really put on a great show. Really cool red/black tropical background and Jack scooted around the huge stage from instrument, to instrument, sweating profusely, but without sacrificing any musicianship
The shows in August of 05? I was at the one where we got 2 concerts in 1 night. They played the entire Get behind me album in order then left the stage and came back out for a totally different show. Seemed like it lasted forever it was one of those special live shows.
Ohhh, I wasn't there for that one -- sounds awesome. I believe it was the last one I checked out, but I'd have to look at the ticket to be sure. Either way, it was a really fun show and I was up in the balcony where the action isn't and spectacularly broke and unable to drink more than a couple of beers...so that's saying something!
I've seen them twice in Chicago and both times were very cool and very loud. Its something special seeing him operate on that guitar in person and watching meg bounce on her seat. I recently saw about an hour of live footage of the stripes on comcast's music on demand, which made me think they'd be awesome at Roo. I'm not sure if is still available. I'm glad I got my wish. Late night...please?
well i am kinda excioted to see the white stripes. i cant imagine they would headline any night. or latenight for that matter. im thinking mainstage afternoon slot.
the black keys + white stripes = 2.5 guitarists (jack is that good) 1.2 drummers (meg is that weak)
not trying to hate. just seems like a step back for jack. imho

I'm hella excited for The White Stripes. I've loved them since I got their second album lent to me by a friend a few days after it came out. I have no doubt they will rock all socks in presence, and I hope hope hope they play a late night set (especially if MMJ is a no show).

alright this just struck me.........Imagine......The White Stripes...playing with....The Black Keys.
Two Drummers. Two Guitarists. Rock.
Wont happen, these 2 bands may have similar sounds but never once have either played together or talked or anything, at least 2 my knowledge and I have followed both bands very close since early in the careers. Black keys since before the first album dropped. Plus this just wouldn't work. How could they play together? I dont see how they could combine together and play at the same time. Woudl love to see Dan come out and jam with Jack thou, I was proved wrong with the addition of WS to the bill so who knows.

Rumor was they recorded that Get Behind me Satan show for a all live vinyl release. Unfortunately its seems to only be a rumor. Do love that show, managed to grab a recording of it.
white stripes should be rocking! maybe a thursday headliner?
no way that they're a thursday headliner. count on friday or saturday even though somebody said something about sunday. i think jack white will be the most active collaborator at the whole festival. we should see a lot of him.

Then maybe we need Jack White and the drummer from the Black Keys. That's what we call maximum efficiency.

TWS being at Bonnaroo has inspired Mrs GreenDrops and I to go this year. Seen them 3 times and the raconteurs twice - jack white is such a star! Now we're getting really excited about going to a US festival - and we have 2 days to get back in time for Glastonbury!

That's one thing about a White Stripes concert, there will always be some great covers. It's hard to top when while playing Little Bird in Japan, Jack did some of ODB's Got Your Money.
