i think bonnaroo has something special planned for us with Sigur Ros....
viewing of heima, then late-night set...
i know i'm going to be waiting a band or two before them to be up front, and i'll be passing around my copy of "The Riceboy Sleeps" from sigur ros' jonsi and his boyfriend to be signed by everyone i'll be experiencing sigur ros with
This has the potential, imo, to be THE set of the weekend. Even over MMJ's set (which is currently my #1 on power rankings), even over what will be PJ's epic set... Sigur Ros does nto play the US all that often, and when they do, they bring it... I will be in an extremely positive state of mind at this set, whether it's late night or sunset or whenever... By the way, bumping this thread = Pure genius
It is going to be fantastic. I hope it doesn't conflict with, say, Phil Lesh or MMJ, because I have friends who are going to see those shows, specifically, and would probably miss Sigur Ros for them.
Can't say I'll miss Sigur Ros for anything. I mean, how often do Sigur Ros even come around, much less to the South East?

they are both pretty sweet to look at,, although the first is a little more grotesque than something i would put on myself permanently. i like the perspective of the second and also the roots. umbilical cord freak me out i guess lol.

I've intentionally not gotten sucked into Sigur Ros. Don't hate me! I just can't stand getting completely into another band (which I keep hearing how amazing they are) and knowing that they will probably be late night opposite Phil or MMJ (among others). I can't take it.
Also i've had trouble finding albums in the beginning so that helped. But either way......if no conflicts i'll be going to see them.......but as of right now i'm clueless to their greatness.

^^^That's flippin sweet. Good choice not getting the chest piece-- my husband said that of all thirty hours of ink, his chest (he has a full, traditional Japanese sleeve) was one of the most painful experiences of his life. Definitely something you'll be proud of for a really, really long time.
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...

i could imagine.... my heart felt crazy when he was tattooing directly behind where my heart is
it felt kind of like acupuncture until it got to my boney ass spinal cord

Man o man... they don't come to America as often as I'd like. I LOVE Phil and MMJ, but I would always choose Sigur Ros over both of them. Do not miss that show.
They're slated to play Saturday, so if it's a late-night, they'll almost definitely conflict with Lesh. However, I believe Lesh is doing two sets, so hopefully they'll play a majority of their set during his break.
I'm just glad they're not playing Friday as I want to see both full sets (unless they play against Ghostland Observatory or Gogol Bordello).
MMJ is getting the Friday the 13th late night for Evil Urges. How wicked is that? From what I've heard Sigur Ros is getting the Saturday night late night, opposite of Phil Lesh. I'll do that math for everyone here so there's no confusion: MMJ>Sigur Ros>Phil Lesh. And NO, you can not simplify that inequality any further.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
Come on, phans! You'll NEVER see anything like Sigur Ros. As much as I LOVE Phil, I'll simply just have to miss him if Sigur Ros goes up against him. Sorry, Phil.
I Might could see myself missing a Sigur Ros show for Levon Helm or ZPZ (once we find out if they have guests and who they are) or if Superjam is big enough.
But at this very moment, I feel that I'd see Sigur Ros before those. And those are my top 3.
P.S. : Once the schedule comes out, we should all plan a meet up for the Ros show, skip some bands ahead of them and "get ready" for the show.

I bet you the Phil set is going to have more guest then Govt Mule had last year.So even if you have seen Phil at other fests that doesnt mean its going to be as epic as the late night Roo set. That being said if Sigur Ros is late night against Phil Im probably going to try to catch some of each show.

I love Phil, but I don't care if Jerry comes back for one night only... I'm not missing a second of Sigur Ros.
