I've been delaying getting excited about their set until I know whether or not they conflict with Zappa Plays Zappa. I really hope theres no conflict w/ those 2.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
I think a nice sundown/twilight show would be killer for them... Kick off the night in such a great way.
Just please, dear God, don't conflict with Tiesto...
I agree. I think I would drop most other late night acts for sigur ros.. MMJ and Tiesto would be ones to think about though. I'm thinking for a fest like bonnaroo sundown would be the best spot for them.
I'd say dusk on the what stage would be optimal. I just couldn't imagine seeing them without that light show of theirs.
I believe Jack Johnson will be playing during that period on Saturday, with Kanye on the Which stage. With Phil Lesh covering the Which Stage Saturday night, Sigur Ros is looking like a tent show.
icelandic is such a beatuful language. did anyone catch the special on discovery channel about the autistic guy who learned it in a week? Aparently there is an old iceland legend that says the language cannot be learned as a second language. amazing stuff.

I'm really looking forward to this set! Unfortunately, I'm also really looking forward to Talib Kweli, which means I'm gonna have to miss the last 45 minutes of Sigur Ros. Hopefully it won't feel too incomplete.

actually a good amount of sigur ros' songs aren't even in icelandic, mainly all of the white album and a lot of takk, the lyrics are nonsensical gibberish that they call hoplandish, i think the idea being that they're trying to create soundscapes and voice is just another instrument to make sound with, plus nobody knew what he was singing about anyway. I can't wait for their late night set, gonna be one of the highlights of the weekend
I'm gonna miss the first part to catch Lupe, but I figure that they will go late, so I will just show up and spread out a blanket in the back about halfway through. I'm sure it will be epic!
