"This surgery involves reattaching the torn portion of the tendon. If most of the tendon is torn and is functionally deficient, the surgeon may detach the remaining intact fibers, and perform a complete surgical correction.
"The recovery after reattachment of a complete rupture is a very gradual process, and the speed at which the rehabilitation can be progressed is based on the healing process. Very basic exercises for ROM (Range of Movement) are performed initially for the first 6-8 weeks, followed by light strengthening exercises. These are started with 1 pound weights and gradually increased as strength and symptoms allow. Light weight training can be performed (bench press, shoulder press) at the 3 - 3 ½ month post-op mark. Generally speaking, strength becomes normalized anywhere between the 6-9 month post-op period, which includes a return to full unrestricted function.
I gotta think that nothing on this green earth will disrupt the ticket on-sale date. plenty of people on this board alone have said they would go to bonnaroo practically regardless of the lineup, and SF/AC has to have an entire business plan on how to finance 'roo built around when they will have the huge influx of cash they need.

Agreed I will me upset if they are not playing, but I already have our tickets so I am going no matter what.
I had similar surgery on my elbow, where they had to re-attach tendons and muscles in August, and I was totally done with physical therapy within 3 months and using my arm fully again. So maybe they can still make it..... Think positive!!!

i for one an excited at the possibilty that they wont play. i mean, sucks that he tore his bicept and all, but this just gives them a chance to wow us with someone differnt.
Obviously I woudln't be too pleased if Tool couldn't make it, but, if they HAD to be replaced.... I don't think anyone would really be displeased with say someone like Neil Young? A Neil Young/Jack White super jam could be all sorts of deadly.

Well theres several options with this, having to replace tool being the worse. 1. he could finish rehab early, not unheard of. 2. It could be not a very bad tear, and require a lot less rehab. 3. Tool finds another drummer, which could ruin it all, but theres a slim chance they could find a suitable replacment for now. and 4. Bonnaroo finds a new headliner, which would probably be someone not very exciting this close to the fest. Hopefully its not the last.

Or if Tool got Fishman to play with them! OMG that would be crazy! I could see them doing that in the spirit of Bonnaroo maybe! Or maybe not now that I think about it, but I'd be into it.

Danny is beast, i'm optimistic. My prediction is little acknowledgemnt from bonnaroo and an announcent in a few weeks that their spring tour is postponed but bonnaroo is on.

I actually think on a national scale The Police are probably as big as Floyd, now to us thats a different story. If they were both playing, we'd see the fastest sell out in bonnaroo history, thatd be madness. Probably the best headliner duo in any festival history.
