this is beautiful... making music with strangers at a music fest in TN... I also regret not going to play the VW Garage last year with my friends, could've done some funny sh*t.
planning songs is fine, im more excited about the improv stuff. its so much fun to play with people you dont know and just play in the moment. somebody gets a rhythm goin, the whole rhythm section gets on board then the solos begin. thats my fav
If we have enough room in the car (we didn't last year, but will probably have a different car situation this year) we will have an acoustic guitar with a kick ass guitarist attached to it, and me with a djembe.
i have an acoustic bass if thats even needed at this point... i think something that might work out better would be a side project, a jam band themed cover chorus, a capella maybe?
we might have to break off into seperate groups! haha we have like 5 of every instrument. we could break off and just keep rotating groups. then attemp to have a big as jam with as many people as we can. i could see the tunes gettin really busy with 15 guitars, 20 bases, 17 drums, and who knows what other instruments all all trin to pull solos at the same time haha
we just need to get in the right "state of mind" bust out the rhythms and kick the jams
wow i can play guitar but it sounds like there will be absolutely zero trouble filling that slot, so i think i'm gonna pass on the participation aspect and just make sure i'm present to watch/dance when this goes down ;D
