I have no doubt in my mind that WSP is headlining. They've been headliners in multiple prior years (two days, infact, for 2005), there is no way WSP would loose their headliner status. Furthermore, I am pretty confident that their website declared them headliners along with Tool and The Police.
They're also third on the bill. If they weren't headlining, they'd be lower.
This is also what I think besides them headling before. I am almost positive they would be playing Sunday night to finish off Roo and help things come to a close.
all a matter of opinion on how good they are but they have headlined in the past and I just dont see someone having that headline status being taken away especially when you are third on the bill

I think Widespread is most likely going to headline sunday. Its a way for Bonnaroo to retain the status that all the roo-ites appreciate, the "jam fest". Please don't take that as negative either, I personally haven't even heard much WSP and didn't manage to catch any of the 7.5 hours they played in 05, but I've opened up A LOT more to many different sounds as of recent. They're probably no 1 on my list for the headliners this year.
Honestly, how many people will be hanging around Sunday night if WSP is closing it. Not ripping WSP, but don't they still want people on the site all the way up until the end? Has WSP ever closed Bonnaroo?
While they may be your favorite band, they do not draw crowds in most of the country. I am just curious if Bonnaroo is accepting having WSP close the festival to at least a half-empty house.

They've closed the festival multiple times before and Bonnaroo was fine with it . . . and it wasn't a half empty house.

I'm guessing that a lot of these concerns are coming from people who have not seen WSP, or more specifically, not seen them play at 'roo. Be assured that they are very much embraced in the Bonnaroo community.

Closers for previous Bonnaroos 2002 - Trey 2003 - The Dead 2004 - Trey 2005 - WSP 2006 Phil & Friends
So Panic has closed out the fest but once, But they are the only band to headline multiple nights of the same year (2002 and 2005). There are always people who skip the final headliner (in fact, Last year was the first time in 5 years of Roo that I actually saw the Sunday night headliner). But Panic will close out the fest this year, and it will be full of panic fans just like every other show they've done at roo. They may not have a wide natl. audience, but I know more people who follow Panic around religiously than any other band right now, and they will be out in full force at Roo. They are still HUGE in the South.

I'm really surprised at this thread. Panic not a headliner??? Why on earth would they not be? IMO it makes perfect sense, great way to close out the festival; they did it on '05 and i still love listening to that set, especially the Herbie Hancock sit-in. I honestly think more people that come to Roo would wait around for Panic instead of Tool, just my opinion though. I for one, will be there.

they are not, in fact, my favorite band, but with the addition of Jimmy Herring, they very easily could become one of my favorites! Go see them NOW, they're like a new band...

I don't buy that. I've been to multiple Roo's, have seen Phish, GD, and WSP many, many times. I am there for Tool this year. Really it's Tool and the Police that got me there this year. I can see WSP anyday.

i have never seen panic live (blasphemy to many, i know). but i am surely looking forward to seeing them headline (and close) 'roo this year. hopefully i can get nice and close like i did for phil & friends last year.
I personally like the direction that Roo has gone this year. Growth is good. If it was the same as in the past, I would not cough up the money. I am married and have kids so I have to be picky these days. I am surely not complaining here because I have to leave early Sunday anyway.

^i agree that i like the growth. i think they got it perfect this year. just enough old school roo bands (sci wsp ect.) and just enough new to roo bands
