mmj said they won't be going already though....where are yall getting that from?
Just the fact that it's MMJ. I mean, honestly... who knows what the hell they're doing. They announced a while ago that the Langerado Festival a few months ago was their last show for rest of 2007. Now they're signed up to play lollapalooza with the children's orchestra in a month or so. I just don't think you can take anything they say too seriously.

RRFB would be amazing, Wouldn't count Bela out either.
Robert and Bela would be so awesome in a jam, but I don't think is going to happen. Bela has a gig with Chick Corea in PA that night (the 15th). He's then in Indy for a jazz fest on the 17th. Robert Randolph seems likely though.

Woah, just the thought of Jim James being part of the TBD set makes me want to go there first and see what's up... Stupid us left about an hour before MMJ ended last year.

Oh, sorry for the double post, but they are also playing Austin City Limits
I highly doubt that MMJ would be doing the late night thing two years in a row. Could they really top last year's epic show? And as far as Mars Volta goes doesn't the guitar player have a new solo album out? Maybe it could be his new band, here's who's in it....

I mentioned this in another thread. While I think the Monsters of folk thing (Jim James and Friends) would be great, I think another possibility is Bustle in Your Hedgerow (BR Duo plus Bassist from Ween play Zeppelin covers). They are doing shows in June all over the midwest and Bonnaroo weekend is wide open.

In other news, didn't Adrian Belew state that he was coming to Bonnaroo this year? Couldn't his new trio (The Adrian Belew Power Trio) be the TBD? They have a gig the following Tuesday in Nashville, and no other gigs in between.
Just throwing it out there, but what about Bright Eyes? I know he played last year, but he's wrapping up a tour with Gillan Welch this week - which has seen a ton of special guest sit-in with him Lou Reed, Ben Kweller, Jenny Lewis, Norah Jones.
