I'm really interested to see what they're going to do with the 2 and a half hour set. I have a strange feeling they will whip out Third Eye...or perhaps it's just wishful thinking.
Nopt to crush your dreams, but honestly I dont think Tool will do much different from their normal show. I'd say the most rare song that we'll get is probably Pushit or Opiate.
I'd love to see something amazing and rare, but I just dont see it in the cards. If anyone knows Tool, you know theyre really not as into "whipping out something special" as most bands on the Roo.

He knows what's up. It'll just be cool if they play 46+2. We'll see, but it would be hard for you to come away disappointed.

I know it's a long shot but what to do with all that extra set time...extended versions of songs I suppose. But yeah, I will most def not be disappointed either way. I also figured the Roo crowd a bit smarter and mellower than some of the apes they normally have to deal with @ shows...which has obviously affected their setlists in the past.

EDIT: Go Marlins!!!
Actually I think its pretty rare for Tool to NOT play Forty-Six & 2 lol. Its been a while since they havent...I at least know that.
(Hey, there are so many Florida haters, we have to stick together.)
I love 46+2, but do you really think they might extend the set? I mean, it IS a new moon, and apparently they do celebrate that...some of them, anyway.

What's the longest they've ever stopped a set (to your knowledge) as a result of someone being a dumbass?
Well Maynard walks off stage quite a bit when the crowd gets douche-y...doesn't sing all the lyrics to certain songs...sometimes they don't play all the songs on their setlist and cut the show short.

Well their current set list runs about 2 hours. So we get an extra 30 minutes which will probably be compiled of songs they have rotated throughout their tour. Swamp Song, Pushit, Sober, and Opiate all come to mind.

I dunno, I thing anything goes with Tool, but I wouldnt get my hopes up in any way. Tool puts on an amazing show nomatter what....anything they add is just icing on the cake.
Come to think of it...I dont like that analogy. I always scrape the icing off. I'll just say that anything Tool adds is just a bonus to their already amazing show.

I don't think we'll have a whole hell of a lot to complain about.

Here is tonights set list. They dropped Right In Two and added Pushit. It seems they have been doing some extended jams lately as well.
Jambi Stinkfist (Extended) Forty-Six and Two Schism (Extended) Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned Pushit Wings for Marie 10,000 Days Lateralus (Extended w/ Kinski) Vicarious

yeah they usually drop RIT when they play Pushit though...

I hate icing too! hahaha
does tool have set breaks? and do they really have that much of a problem with fans?....like what do the fans do?
Yup, I think they're gonna do the same thing they do for EVERY DAMN SHOW. Which kinda sucks, but oh well.
Actually, it might be not quite as good, somewhere there is a quote from Danny Carey saying they will just play their hits because it is a festival crowd, much like they did in Europe. That setlist was: Stinkfist [extended middle] Swamp Song 46 & 2 Jambi Schism [extended] The Pot Sober Lateralus Vicarious Ænima
That was what they played for one of the Big Day Out shows, I bet we see something similiar, though maybe they will do something different because Bonnaroo is very different.
Well, I do think they will play their full timeslot, which is 30 minutes longer than the show that is being played on tour right now. So that means an extra 2 or possibly 3 songs, but who knows? I'd be somewhat surprised if they went offstage before 11:30 like they are billed for.
Regardless of what they play it's going to be amazing, and one of the best shows of Bonnaroo.
My question is when are they gonna test the lasers?? Thursday night after dark?

Yes, they usually have set breaks in the middle. They pretty much don't do encores.
Maynard will definitely get testy over fans actions. He will stop people from moshing. He will also let you know if he doesn't think you are loud enough. I've also heard him yell at a chick for getting naked and getting up on a dude's shoulders and showing herself off. Also in a recent show he walked out int he middle of wings for marie after some drunk guy yelled his name in the slow part of the song. He said something to the effect of "I know people singing songs about their dead mother makes me want to get drunk and yell" and walked off for the rest of the song.
