Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Seeing how superfly brought the bands Tool and Clutch to roo last year, it seems that they are more open to their being heavier bands at Roo. If any, which heavier bands do you think would be acceptable at Roo.
Here is a small list of bands that I think would work at Roo: NIN Deftones Queens of the Stone Age Burning Brides Fu Manchu Mike Patton in any form Coheed and Cambria Cursive Les Savy Fav ISIS Mastadon Against Me! Pelican
I like the idea of there being heavier bands at roo as long as they aren't overly aggressive (RATM, Metallica) or stale (pretty much any band overly influenced by nirvana). I personally think think sludge metal, heavier alt rock, and more punk-influenced indie are welcome additions to roo.

would Pearl Jam be considered a harder band? at least in comparison to a lot of the people that play Bonnaroo of course. Because some guy said that a member of PJ said that they were going to play 'Roo 08 so i was thinking maybe Pearl Jam could be like the hard(er) band like Tool was last year ...maybe?

Pearl Jam has some pretty heavy songs so i can see them being considered a heavier band, but I don't really consider them to be any harder than Kings of Leon, DBT or My morning Jacket, which have all played roo. I was thinking of bands that would be more controversial like the way tool was.

I wouldn't say pearl jam is a heavy band. I guess it's in the eye of the beholder. I'd say Alice in Chains is much heavier, who I would love to see at bonnaroo( not headlining at all). Although it's not as good without Layne Staley
I don't know if you're bieng sarcastic or not, but korn would be a stretch in my opinion. I think that they are a little too aggressive. It might just be me but they are one of the bands that remind me of the last woodstock trajedy. So the thought of them being at roo puts a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm pretty sure that any of the bands that were somewhat aggressive in the 90's woodstocks would not be at Bonnaroo. I dont think Superfly or AC would want even the chance of that sh*t happening again.

i wasn't able to attend woodstock 99 but i watched the entire thing on payperview.....i won't blame the bands for what happened, but i will blame fred durst....i put more of the blame on stupid motherfucking idiot kids even though i think the music of korn, limp bizkit, even the chili peppers led those people to do what they did...as i was watching people doing all that crap i thought to myself, there will never be another music festival ever....but i also blame it on the times....i know 99 wasn't even ten years ago, but i think most people who go to festivals, and even festivals, i think both of those things have changed a little bit since then.....so for the love of god - don't ever bring korn and limp bizkit to bonnaroo - not because of what could happen, but more importantly - their music sucks ass....

yeah, there was a time when i liked korn and limp bizkit and metallica and all the bands that played ozzfest 00....i was a metal kid.....metallica was one of my nicknames in high school....and you know what happened to my love for metal music....i grew up....i got sick of the whiny stupid bullshit.....jonathan davis and fred durst should just kill themselves already....and i was in complete shock when head left korn to devote his life to god...good for him though....

yeah, my first concert was metallica and corrosion of conformity when i was 16....wasn't stanton moore the drummer for CoC? but that is also a kid i've forgotten...i just think, what in the hell was i thinking....but my 2nd concert was dmb and los lobos, so i try to think of that as my first concert....and while concerts like korn and pantera and soulfly are very heavy and violent....i think the most violent mosh pit i ever saw was at a face to face concert....

Cursive - didn't conor oberst used to play in cursive?
when i saw bright eyes in new orleans in '05 members of cursive were playing with them (the digital ash tour) there were members of the faint playing with them as well, the faint opened for them
conor has done plenty of stuff with cursive and vice versa, but has never been part of the band, they are just on his record label
I would like to see QOTSA at bonnaroo... I'm a huge NIN fan but i can't see them fitting in at bonnaroo, I mean, maybe as a friday night headliner but even that is pushing it. Though, I could see Trent play with other people like either saul williams or Atticus Ross.

I love QOTSA (even though the new album is awful). They would be awesome for Bonnaroo. I think they were rumored last year.
awful really?! ??? I brushed it aside when it first came out, but holy hell has it grown on me. Most definitely one of my fav. albums of the last year.
edit: and seeing it live for sure adds to the appreciation.

NIN put on quite a visual experience, kinda like tool. I think they would fit perfect with the heady type vibe that roo has always tried to capture. I 'd love to see them in '08'
Nine Inch Nails in 2005 with QOTSA and Death From Above 1979, is still my favorite concert ever. And contrary to what many believe, there was no moshing or anything of the sort at the concert. Very impressive, and yes, very heady, and trippy, visually speaking.
