I Love R. Randolph and the Family Band as well as any show that he guests in...but anyone have any insight as to what "Robert Randolph's Revival" entails?
well here's my two cents. "Revival" suggests like an old gospel revival. So im thinkin like The Word minus Medeski with some other guests. Which will be evn more possible if The Black Crowes play and they bring Luther!!
Close your eyes. Picture a convict. What's he wearing? Nothing special, baseball cap on backwards, baggy pants... he says something ordinary like... 'yo, thats shizzle.' Okay. Now slowly open your eyes again. Who are you picturing? A black man? Wrong. That was a white woman. Surprised? Well, shame on you.

If y'all love Robert Randolph so much, do yourselves and favor and don't miss the lee boys. i saw them open for the black crowes here in austin a while back, and they're great!
This man came up to me just the other day, asked me I'd been born again. I told him, "I didn't think I had." That I had been rejected. But I think, Hell's got all the good bands anyway. And Bonnaroo.

It could be called 'Robert Randolph's Barnyard Animal Extravaganza' and I'd still go. Robert + Anyone = Amazing.
Please let this be a night show, because if its during the day its going to last 90 minutes and then be over. If it's at night, it could last 3-4 hours and seriously be one of the high points of the festival.

Just wondering if anyone else had thoughts on who would show up at this show. Obviously it is some sort of RR jam session, but a casual glance at the lineup doesn't show too many people Robert has a history with (ie No Luther from NMAS, No Dave, G. Love, Medeski etc . . .).
I know that OAR used him for a cover of Fool in the Rain I know he likes to cover Zeppelin, so maybe Plant sings some (I would die on the spot).
Outside of that, I can't really draw many connections. Warren Haynes would be a great fit; in fact, they'd probably tear the whole farm down together. But I don't know of the two ever playing together. So I guess my question is two fold: 1. Anyone else you see jamming with Robert? and 2. Could you speculate on artist additions based on this?

I know Robert and Warren both played with DMB at Bonnaroo in 2005, I don't remember if they played on the same songs. I don't care much for Kanye West, but I think it'd be pretty sweet if Robert Randolph played with him, or any of the rapper's there. I could definitely see this Revival thing including the other Word members. I'd also like to see Robert join BB King or Solomon Burke.

i saw a local festival show that rrfb opened for govt. mule and they jammed together there.
i have a feeling the black crowes and nma will be announced and it will be a sacred steel jam session on sunday afternoon and will be the perfect fit in the hot tennessee sun on a sunday
At Wanee Fest 2007 Derek Trucks jammed with Robert Randolph on the second day of the festival, so I assume Derek might be a part of this.
RRFB and The Drive-By Truckers went on tour with Counting Crows, so I would highly suspect some Drive-By truckers, and maybe a late announcement of Counting Crows??
