I've seen this band twice now... First time - Lollapalooza 2008. Absolutely fantastic. One of the most emotion-invoking shows I've seen. Second time was the last show on their "final" tour. They played for a bit too long, but it was still great.

BSS is unreal, I can't believe I'm going to be seeing them. Their self-titled album and You Forgot it in the People are just gems. I love Cause = Time.
Is Feist one of the vocalists for BSS? Ive never really listened to their stuff (heard a few songs here and there and im currently watching the Almost Crimes vid, its cool. I dig Feist's voice but dont really like her songs if that makes sense.
Both Emily Haines (from Metric) and Feist are featured on quite a few tracks. They were originally part of BSS regular touring band, but now you're lucky to get even one of them.
But if they aren't in attendance, there are always exceptionally good substitutes.
And I'm the same way. I like Feist's voice (especially in BSS tracks), but don't dig her solo stuff at all. *shrug*
I could see Feist showing up having been there last year. Seriously, You forgot it in people in one of my favorite albums of this decade. I hope they play a healthy dose of tunes from that album.
yeah I wonder what BSS will be made of this time around. I saw them on the BSS Presents Kevin Drew's Spirit If... tour. That show was Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning, a couple guys from BSS, and a piano player. So it was like 3 guitarists, a bassist, drummer and piano guy I think. BSS the true incarnation usually has some horns, violinist and at least one female vocalists (among Feist, Emily Haines, Amy Milan, and Lisa Lobsinger) on top of the Guitars, Bass and drums. So i'm hoping for that. Also an Andrew Whiteman (Lead singer of Apostle of Hustle and long time BSS member) appearance would be great

that was a great set. they crammed it into 45 minutes (talk about getting screwed out of a good time slot) and had to stop because of the lame-ass chili peppers. it was pretty awesome that they had all 4 ladies up on stage.
They are gonna bring it!! But it will definately depend on how much of Broken Social Scene is thier. If they have all 18(including the ones the added from this past album!) we are in for a quacking show!!!!!

yea my brother saw them on their final tour or whatever, and he said they were amazing, but they were having sound problems and they were getting very frustrated with so many people on stage. probably just an off night. love them to death though. i just want to hear KC Accidental, that shit is awesome.

I love this bands recordings. I saw them during their last tour, and they were good for the first forty five minutes or so, but the next two hours and fifteen minutes (yes, they played for damn near three hours) were the same thing over and over again. That was their last show before they all went on to pursue other things, so I figured they just wanted to get it out of their systems. So when they came back to Ann Arbor, I figured I'd give them another show. So I saw Broken Social Scene Presents: Kevin Drew, and guess how long they played? Two hours and forty minutes. Seriously, I love this band, but they start to bore me with their long sets. If nothing else is going on, I will see them. I think if they have a rigid time limit instead of being the closer, they'll be awesome. I'm really hoping they don't suck again!
I was at the same final show, kingofcheesewiz, and I totally agree with you. That shit lasted forever. When they were limited to 45 minutes at Lollapalooza though, there was no filler and it was amazing. I guarantee the hour to hour and a half they get will be perfect.
I cannot WAIT for BSS. Too damn bad I bought tickets to see them in Dublin at the end of May. If I had known I'd only need to wait another 4 weeks I'd have saved the 40 bucks.
I loooove Stars, so I'll have no qualms with Amy being there if Emily or Feist can't make it. Though, why the hell not just have all 3. I'd probably cream myself.
It looks like everyone is open for this....Feist, Emily (solo or with Metric), Andrew Whiteman (apostle of hustle), and do make say think have nothing scheduled for 'roo.

40 bucks? Ouch i only payed 18 for the BSS Presents Kevin Drew'sSprit If..., i wonder if that means it really is a true BSS show, aka majority of the set focusing on BSS tunes, and also the traditional overblown BSS lineup...

Well, it's like 25 Euros, but once you make the conversion back into dollars, it's on the expensive side. But I had no idea when I'd have the chance to see them and tickets were almost sold out, so I bit the bullet. Timing is everything.
Whatever, I'll take two BSS shows in the space of a month, no problem.
I would have to agree, this will be one of the highlights of Bonnaroo personally... Let's hope for Andrew Whiteman being there, I can see Feist making a return, seeing as how she was there last year...
IMO BSS doesn't take a bask seat to Arcade Fire, would be just as excited to see either one of them...
emily haines and I are meant to marry. We had a moment at club clearview 5 years ago. The stage there wasn't even big enough for the entire band. They were only playing a show in Dallas because they were on their way to SXSW.
They're about to play Anthems of a 17 Year Old Girl, when this very pretty lady bumped into me. She grabbed my shoulder, she looked me in the eye, and apologized. As she walks through the crowd I'm thinking of what I'm going to say to her later(at this time, I don't know that she's emily haines.) I see she keeps moving to the front, and I'm waiting for her to stop. I want to see if she's with a guy...
oh wait... what's that... she's... getting on stage?...
