Their song 'Strange Lover' is incredible...the kind you listen to 2-4 times in a row on a CD...thats pretty amazing. cant wait late night...if its during MMJ I will cry...legitimate tears.
Don't forget! It officially comes out on Tuesday! I've heard a lot of the album, and it's pretty damn good... Has more of a delete.delete.i.eat.meat feel than Paparazzi Lightning.

Picked up the new album today, it's sick!! I'm so pumped to see their show at Roo. I just keep smiling when I listen to it and imagine seeing them live this summer!
OKAY. So they played the Austin Music Hall tonight. Absolutely amazing. If anyone has heard the new cd, there is a song called the band marches on with kind of a marching band sound to it. THE FUCKING UT MARCHING BAND CAME OUT AND PLAYED THE SONG WITH THEM. Epic. Sickest thing i've experienced in a very, very long time.

I personally would love this to happen: Justice, Ghostland Observatory, _____ insert band to party till sunrise. I finally got to listen to Justice and I think it would be ridiculous to have these 2 bands back to back.
Now the only thing that has to happen is...bonnaroo needs to add Justice to the lineup first. This has to happen dammit!
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
I really dig the new album... Now, I'm a first phase listener/fan, and I don't like it quite as much as the Paparazzi Lights or DeleteDeleteIeatMeat, but that could easily change.
I really do like this band, and will try to do all in my power to catch the show.
the first time i saw these guys was when the did an Austin City Limits. They came on after another act and i was like WTF - they do look a little unusual you know? But they are infectious - i kept thinking about their music after the show. As strange as it was i couldnt get it out of my mind. I went to their myspace and have been hooked since then. Id like to get the new cd. Does anyone know if there is a place online to download it. Its not on the myspace yet. I dont mind paying for it - im just too lazy and to add to go to the store and buy it? how do you guys classify this music? its not something id normally listen to.

That sounds amazing - the band marches on is growing on me as one of my favorite songs on the new album. I'm going to try to catch them in Dallas after the St. Patty's parade. Should be a party.

Pitchfork reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Homer is a food critic. He starts giving restaurants bad ratings just to balance things out. It wouldn't be cool to rave about everything. This new album's not the greatest thing I ever heard, but I think it's pretty good.
I think Ghostland is a great live band. I think they are a mediocre studio band. There is nothing that really distinguishes their studio stuff from the thousands of other electro acts out there.
But then, there are a lot of electro acts who don't rock a venue like Ghostland Observatory...
That Pitchfork review was pure sh!t. The first time that he heard Ghostland was from their live DVD. He needs to do a bit of research to get a frame of reference before he gives a 1.5 review.
It's not my fav Ghostland album, but that review is absolute rookie reviewer drivel.
