I was listening to the Drive-by-Truckers song "Danko/Manuel" (as in Rick Danko and Richard Manuel of the Band) today and it occurred to me that some sort of mix up of the Levon Helm Ramble On the Road and the Drive-By-Truckers would be a no-brainer for a SuperJam.
The possibilities are damn near limitless, this year. I'm not sure who will be the centerpiece or anything, but I'd say it's a safe bet to see some sort of homage to The Band and maybe something with Plant and BB King.

Maybe?
Maybe....but that song was written by Jason Isbell and he is no longer in the Truckers. I'm sure the rest of the Truckers still love the band though and would probably love the chance to jam w/ Levon (who wouldn't?).
I like the Truckers, but I would hope that they could get some other people to play SUPERjam. Like I said like DBT but not for one of the highlights of the weekend.
Close your eyes. Picture a convict. What's he wearing? Nothing special, baseball cap on backwards, baggy pants... he says something ordinary like... 'yo, thats shizzle.' Okay. Now slowly open your eyes again. Who are you picturing? A black man? Wrong. That was a white woman. Surprised? Well, shame on you.

What about a Ringo Starr addition and a Beatles Superjam? In much the same way that John Paul Jones was added late, put with Harper and ?uestlove, I don't think this is totally out of the realm of possibility. Would certainly make for an immensely entertaining set.

I honestly just hope there is no superjam this year. It makes sense since theres already so many collaborative acts happening that would probably be better than the superjam, just like Mule was pretty much better than the superjam last year. This would just mean less conflict, since we already have like 3 superjams anyways.
im thinkin more of a eddie vedder, robert randolph, jack white, bb king, robert plant, phil lesh, derek trucks type of super jam
are you thinking that in a "christmas list" kind of way? cuz that sounds awesome, but i think only half of those ppl might even be too good to be true. all fine by me though, I hope they take your advice
I was thinking: Levon Helm on drums Phil Lesh or Chris Wood on bass Jack White on Guitar B.B. King on guitar Robert Randolph on slide guitar and maybe some horns from Ozomatli or Grupo Fantasma

Every Superjam usually involves people not on the artist lineup. Anyone thinking it will be based around anyone already listed is probably way off.
My source tells me that Superjam will include every musician on this year's line-up, plus everyone they've ever played with, wanted to play with, or would never in a million years play with, given a choice.

I think this years Superjam possibilities are prolly the best yet: Eddie Vedder, Robert Randolph, Jack White, BB King, Robert Plant, Phil Lesh, Derek Trucks?
Shit, that's enough right there.
Add in Warren Haynes, Jim James, and then Levon Helm on drums, and we might have one of the best collaborations to ever set foot on stage.
I would leave if I saw James Hetfield singing Beatles songs.
I'm not sure, there is the trade mark Metallica "yeah yeah" on a lot of their songs. He could just add a couple of more for the Beatles, just think James rip out a She loves you "yeah yeah yeah" ;D

Simply because it's James Hetfield... not because he's a good singer or anything, I'm assuming.
Because nothing about James Hetfield's voice makes me want to hear him sing And Your Bird Can Sing, or Strawberry Fields Forever, or about 150 other Beatles songs. He might be able to pull off Helter Skelter and that's about it.
Kirk's a fantastic soloist, and he could fit in a Beatles cover band... but, obviously, there are many more talented guitarists at Roo who would fill the void more efficiently. Haynes, King, James, White...
