Has anyone considered that Kanye may play the Which Stage Saturday before Phil Lesh? The headliner goes off at around 10-11ish, Kanye goes on. He plays for an hour and a half, two hours, something like that.. It'll be around 12ish or 1ish, I'd say. Phil comes up right after and plays until dawn.
Once again, if he were playing a stage at night, Kanye would have been included in the MMJ/Phil late night announcements. He's been on the lineup since day one and was probably one of the very first acts to be placed in the schedule.
This entire conversation is hilarious... I'm pumped about Kanye, don't get me wrong... And I'll see him over any other acts on the lineup except probably MMJ... But, jeez people, show a little patience and wait for the schedule... I know I am

Yea, this has been up on Pollstar for two days now, and it was also posted on Kanye's website today. But I'm still not ruling out the possibility that he arrives on Saturday to moonlight with Lupe and Talib, and his show is not until Sunday; because if he plays Saturday, he won't be glowing.

It's too much to resist...Kanye plays on Saturday, so he either plays during the day - negating his glow tour theme - or he plays in a tent, which many people seem to believe would not only create capacity issues but cause a massive ego trip on his part.
So we sit here and beat our heads against the wall trying to figure out how to reconcile this problem. Why, you may ask, why do we beat our heads against the wall like this? Because it feels so good when we stop.

Kanye will TEAR DOWN whatever tent he plays. I just hope he has one "opener." Somebody like Lupe getting a one hour set, with Kanye playing 1-2:30 or 3. That way I could see Sigur Ros, catch the End of Kanye, catch the end of Phil, and then head over to Tiesto and dance till I die!
Now that's my dream scenario. One can dream right?
I still say that with Tiesto being latenight and Kanye really needing to be after dark, signals a major change in Bonnaroo. Both of these guys are just too big for a tent. I suspect one of the tents is changing to a full outdoor stage this year.

hmm..does he really have to do a latenight to do a "night" show?? and would he really go all our and have a tour set up for glow in the dark...and in the middle of his tour just not do it........then again he could just send his epuipment to the next show and just travel lite to roo
I think with all the stuff that we know is latenight, he is not really left with a space to fit. MMJ, Bisco, Tiesto, P&F etc... were announced or have self announced as latenight, with Kanye nothing. I would be willing to bet he is going to play the what stage before Pearl JAm it is really where everything fits best. After all both the which stage and that tent seem to be spoken for at the midnight slot, and while I would believe he would play either of those he is way to big for anything else , and he is way to big for anything but the what stage for a day set. So anyway I see him in the Beck/Bob Weir slot. He is bigger than either of them but not really bigger than they were at 'roo.
Anyway just offering mho not trying to do any parade raining, I am not a big fan myself but I would really consider going to a night show with him.

Yes. Assuming they stick to tradition, Pearl Jam will be the only major act playing from 8-11pm. If he doesn't play after that, he'll be playing in the daylight/dusk.
The logic in the recent posts is pushing me further into thinking that we'll be getting a daytime show. It doesn't make sense to me that they would go out of their way to officially tout late night sets from Phil, MMJ, and Tiesto and fail to mention that Kanye would be playing, too. If he was, they would cream themselves over the opportunity to promise such a diverse offering for the latenight sets.
Why don't we mess with the headliner times a bit. The headliners the past couple of years didn't start until 9 or so. There was a full hour b/t when the late afternoon bands ended and the headliners began. Just kill the dead tim. Have Pearl Jam do a dusk/dark show and Kanye do a night show. Problem solved. Maybe 7:30 - 9:30 and 10-12?
I dont really know his stuff, but I saw he does a sampled version of Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan. They are actually credited as writers on the track. Considering the no-no word subject matter of said song it would be perfect for Bonnaroo. Though admittedly I have not heard his version and it may be very different and just sampling the tune or something.

You would be doing Pearl Jam and Bonnarooers a huge disservice by only giving them a two hour time slot. They're likely to play over 2.5 and possibly around 3 hours.

Cool sample, but Kanye's really has nothing to do with the no-no word. Unless I'm really bad with metaphors.

Unfortunately, I am going another direction. I think Kanye is the pre-headliner on the What Stage on Saturday (I want the glowing show too, but I just don't see it happening). Then it looks like this on Saturday:
What Stage:
Kings of Leon (Given that they play) The Allman Brothers Kanye West (in the Beck/Roots spot) Pearl Jam
Which Stage:
Gogol Bordello M.I.A. Ben Folds Zappa Plays Zappa B.B. King
Kings of leon aren't gonna be there. they were there last year, and they're too big to be an addition
Believe me. Most of the time, I would agree with you 100%. Bonnaroo doesn't do repeats this big, etc. etc. But Pearl Jam has them listed as their opener during a five day stretch which involves Bonnaroo and one other show.

Yeah I just listened to the sample on Amazon and meh...
