This is really difficult to narrow it down to three. Tocqueville: Democracy in America Don Quixote T.S. Eliot -- "The Wasteland, Prufrock, and other poems"
Should read: The Iliad by Homer The Bible (Jewish, Christian, Muslim) Neitzsche's "Thus Spake Zarathustra" or Darwin's "Origin of the Species" depending on whether you're more philosophical or scientific

Seriously, everyone NEEDS to read: You in Revolt By CD Payne. The most amazing story of youth ever told. I PROMISE you will not be disapointed if you read this. If you dont like books, read this and it will change your mind (it happened to me) also Tales of the City by Armstead Maupin is a great series. Its a story about san fran in the early 70s- 80s. This book makes me want a time machine.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Hunter S. Thompson (it is so much better then the movie which is also great)
Watership Down Richard Adams (a favorite from when i was a kid)
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Stephen R. Covey (no matter who you are or what you do, even if you dont do anything, this is a must read. it changed the way i look at life and how i treat other people and has done the same for everyone i know who has read it)

Me thinks i'm about to purchase "House Of Leaves" by Mark Z. Danielewski...has anyone read this book?
Yes, and it's a mindf**f. Lot's of good stuff about postmodern theory and artistic theory in general.
Top 3 Reads: 1. Too Loud a Solitude by Bohumil Hrabil (best piece of literature to come out of the Prague Spring). 2. The Iowa Baseball Confederacy by W.P. Kinsella 3. Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon

Nice, Poop. I'm a comic freak these days too.
You need to be reading Shaolin Cowboy (www.burlymanentertainment.com). Geof Darrow is a genius. The series doesn't come out regularly b/c it's a independent publisher but #5 comes out today and #6 is promised in June.
Def. check Desolation Jones and Testament too. And every issue/trade of Constantine: Hellblazer ever made. I've never read one that didn't blow me away.
Also, if you love Walking Dead (which I did), then get Drive-In. Incredible black & white madness.
