Hello All, To my dismay I've noticed and increase in hostility on Inforoo within the past month or so. Inforoo is a friendly place, flaming will not be tolerated. This is a reminder to all to play nice. Violators will be shot! Ok not really shot but I will begin banning people who are constantly disruptive. Remember we are all here for good times, so please think before you post, also go easy on the karma system. As my Mom always said: "if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all."
Good, too many threads have degenerated into "You're wrong", "No, you're wrong", "No, YOU'RE wrong... and a poopie head!" and next thing you know people have karmas in the negative double digits.
What warning level? Anyway, just look at what this thread has done... keith's karma is positive. Somehow I have a feeling that if keith's karma is positive, all is right with the world.

actually the more i look at it the more i think it might be an inforoo thing... if he had posted it i think it would have said "member is offline" above it but it says it below it. must be a new thing

GOUGE, i'd rather you didn't stay low-key for a while, I generally appreciate your comments and I don't think your "warning" was warranted (damn the man!! hahaha, just kidding, please don't ban me, i'll do anything you ask). You crossed the line with some of the language and insults you used, but several of us have done that before, and for good reason. Your frustration was completly understandable, and may or may not be the general sentiment on this board. Bottom line GOUGE, don't quiet yourself because of this, but let a be some kind of lesson.
hey guys First of all I want everyone to know that Gougeaway was not the reason this announcement was created. There were a few issue that led to the announcement.
The warning system is an option that proboards gives its administrators. I decided to begin using it to police the board because it gives us moderators more flexibility, before the warning system the only recourse we had towards a violator was to ban them from Inforoo. Policy on the use of the warning system will be forthcoming, in the meantime it will be used to remind people to stay polite. Thanks to Gougeaway for being such a good sport with being the warning system's first guinea pig. He was chosen because he made the most recent comment that I thought to be rude after the warning system made its debut. Because since then he has apologized and been an all around good boy his warning level has dropped to zero. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up!

They probably just send a message everytime they warn someone thats all... Besides i dont think a lower warning level is a big deal, once you're up to like 75%-90% i'd start worrying hehe...
It does seem like a good system to keep people in check cause no matter who's right or wrong the mods are just doing their job and trying to keep negativity and personal conflict away from the board, which is a good thing...
Well yes, except the mods aren't always talking to each other. One warns in PM, everything stops and corrections are made. Another mod comes on and doesn't know of any of this and warning labels get thrown up a day later
It's the red... it just looks so distrustful and disconcerting. My scarlet letter!

Yeah it does look kind of mean hehe, we'll get used to seeing it here and there though, no one will pass judgement and im sure the mods will be fair, i dont see anyone actually getting the boot, i think thats part of why the system is there, so that they dont have to run around banning people, you get the heads up you know?
What I don't understand is how Keith went from the bottom of the karma barrels to near enlightenment status. I've seen his karma get as low as -26 and then get reset back to zero. This particular time, after he got his karma reset (which has happened a couple of times, and really defeats the purpose of the system) it started rising steadily. In fact, he's got like the most karma on the board. I'm not trying to cause another disturbance, but come on, someone is doing something here. No way tons of people are exalting Keith while people like weSkew dangle around the negatives.
I think keith's karma is reset after -30 everytime. Some people (me included) just ocasionally exalt him so he doesn't go too far into the negatives. It's not nice to have people with karmas so low. Or it might just be someone who really likes keith.
