The "rescuers" got hired, I think by people from the old Dharma Initiative. They're pissed at Ben for killing all their people. They want Ben dead. I think that's who the big black guy works for. He's hired these people to take care of Ben.
I can't understand why no one can seem to figure out that Ben doesn't care about anyone's well being but his own.

even if it were a thousand years that doesnt make any sense, im assuming wherver that was, would have been a desert a thousand years ago....so how would a polar bear end up there....
all i know is, when all this is said and done, they need to have a 2 hour show where they just answer questions....

ahh good point dan, forgot bout the other others..heh
So DARMA is coming after Ben and some how he has all this intel on them plus an inside man on their boat . Then we have Jacob who was leading the others Lock was talking about Walt and in the preview they said a war was coming. I think Lock will kill anyone who trys to get him off the island. So were back to the oceanic six. It's going to be a fun season they only have 8 of the 16 shows for this year so they are going to have to tell us something.

This just occurred to me. Could Ben's inside man on the boat possibly be Michael? I think it very well could be.
That is a distinct possibility. I saw Harold Perrineau's name listed in the opening credits of yesterday's episode, and he's the guy who plays Michael.
Right now I'm not even going to start asking questions, though. There is just too much to wrap my head around! I know that the creators of the show will reveal everything we need to know in due time. They've already stated that the show will be exactly six seasons long, so that means they have a definite plan for how things will turn out. What most fans of the show don't realize is that some of the things we're just seeing now are things that have been planned right from the start of the series. Damon Lindelhof and JJ Abrams are geniuses.

How do they have that picture of Ben? does this mean that ben as left the island at some point?
I don't know, I started freaking out when I saw that last night! Either A) He left the Island at some point or B) The mysterious people have an insider who took a picture in the mid-90's while Ben was walking through their fake Dunder Mifflin office area.
My guess is the former, but the latter is a distinct possibility
the guy who sent those people to the island was from darma? maybe he got the picture of ben as he was walking through one of the darma stations? those darma stations had to have had cameras and stuff, right?
or
maybe he did leave the island? i mean, he was able to bring people like juliet there... so, maybe at one point he did leave for recruiting purposes?

Also, the guy playing Daniel Faraday was in Saving Private Ryan. The whole time the other night I was kicking myself because I recognized him but couldn't remember he was in SPR!
