Met a lot of athletes and a decent amount of musicians. Dweezil Zappa, Robert Randolph, Ray White, mind fart right now. I did talk to the guitarist of The Besnard Lakes for like 10 minutes after their show, but was super spaced out from work. Talked to Tapes n' Tapes bassists for like 20 minutes after their show, cool guy, tall as hell.
oh i forgot ;D last year i was on the subway sitting down adn some dood was standing in front of me tryin to look at the map behind me so i scooched over, and then he asked me what stop to get off on. then i noticed his cool looking outfit,...i was listening to my ipod at the time and he goes 'what are you listening to?' i look up its Brian Adams (mr everything i doooo i dooo it for youuuu) i said 'The Stones' hes like good choice ;D then he got off ;D it was cool, even tho his music is kinda nerdy ;D
Bryan Adams is the sh!t, just nobody wants to admit it. How long has that dude been putting out hit singles?

wohoo, my first post here I saw this topic and had to add my Flips story... I had already seen them in June at Roo 07, and then September in Chicago, and was waiting for the Detroit show to start... I was just standing with my 3 friends, having a beer and this big guy walks up to us asking "are you a 4some?" Thinking how weird of a question this was, we reluctantly answered yes... and he preceded to tell us that he had 3 backstage passes left and a pass to dance onstage with the Lips! My best friend went up on stage, we enjoyed the show from a few rows back... afterwards we were walked backstage where we sat on huge couches waiting for Wayne. He talked to all the dancers, then came over to us. He was the nicest guy ever! He took a couple minutes to conversate with each of us... I barely remember what I said, I was so excited to be standing in front of him. I had my Roo shirt on, and he commented on that... then he was going on about how happy I looked (duh..) and how I should keep it up. Then he gave me this huge (and sweaty, totally didn't care though) hug...Other than that, its a blur! Definitely the best night ever though
Other than that, I've met... Jeff Conway (Grease, Celeb Rehab lol) John Butler said hi to me as he walked by before a show (such a dork i am, i know) Jordan Knight (of New Kids) all 4 members of 98Degrees (I was such a teenybopper when I was in middle school lol) Gym Class Heroes (hung out on their bus cuz my girlfriend works for their record label)
...other than Wayne, no one super exciting.
Karma for meeting Wayne also....nicest guy ever.
Oh and I met Pete Yorn next to Amos' Southend in Charlotte..he was eating dinner before his show..pretty normal guy
Another odd random meeting was Sebastian Bach from Skid Row! hahah... I was having dinner at Penang in Chinatown, and all of a sudden a tall, lanky dude walks past. After a double take, I saw it was Sebastian. He must have been playing the Trocadero that night.
Hope he made it to the show! He had a REAL constipated look on his face. Maybe he got some bad chinese!
My mother used to be a nurse for the Atl Braves so I knew a good bit of the team around 00-02 or so. Javy Lopez, Andruw Jones, CHipper Jones, Mark Derosa, Tommy Glavine, Greg Maddox (I used to get hand me down shoes from him because nike was always hookin him up), John Smoltz and the list goes on. Ive met Mike Gordon. I shared corn one time with Wesley SNipes' son (he used to go to school with one of my good friends). I know Ive met more famous folks but my minds blank.

I've met a couple bands... But my most incredible encounter was here in Tennessee. I was going to a movie theater bathroom, and the door shot open and hit me in the face...
And it was VICTOR WOOTEN who hit me with the door... I was like... *holding nose* Victor! How are you?!
My son (aged 7 at the time) and I met Barry Sanders in the men's room at a Pistons game. My son pushed in front of him to get to the hand drier, so I like to claim that he blocked Barry Sanders.
i was at an ultra-lounge last nite and robert horry (san antonio spurs) made an appearance after the spurs beat new orleans...i worked at a pet store and sean elliot (san antonio spurs and espn basketball announcer) came in looking for mealworms for some of his fish, we talked for a while about his aquarium...i also used to work for al jourgensen of the industrial group ministry (i set-up and cleaned his aquarium, and would on occassion take him new fish)

I've met a few, nothing too noteworthy though, most just a quick exchange of words:
All of Incubus (ozzfest98) All of Clutch Disturbed minus Dave (ozzfest01?) Hoobastank's singer & guitarist (boo) The Black Angels lead singer (outside Antones show, ACL this year, he loved Steph's Dylan tee) Slug of Atmosphere (at Fifth Element Mpls, MN & Warped Tour) Chi of the Deftones MCUD/Jared of Hed(pe) Pete of Ultraspank (ozzfest98) Lynn Strait of Snot (ozzfest98) RIP Lynn Kris Roe of the Ataris Shavo of System of a Down William Elliott Whitmore (@ Clutch show) Kobe Bryant & his wife (@ MOA) Tommy Lasorda (sat in front of me on airplane to Vegas) Jennifer Morrison (actress) Dennis Hastert (former Speaker of the House, his wife was shopping at my old store) Kobe Tai (some of you boys know who this is )
Thats all I can think of right now that I've actually spoken with. I've seen a few others though.
side note: My GF Steph just had Britney Spears in her store two weeks ago, I guess the paparatzi where INSANE. She also randomly saw Flavor Flav by himself at South Point Casino in Vegas. She made eye contact with him and I guess he just put his head down, put his hands in his pockets and walked away....ODD
The only "famous" person I've ever met is The Rock... met him at a Monday Night Raw show in Nashville in early 97 (before he got popular). Really nice guy, down to Earth.
I met Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald from Emergency Vets & Josh Ritter.
Back when I was a young pup, I met all 3 members of Blink 182 after sneaking back to the tour buses at Warped Tour. I thought it was really cool at the time... now, eh, not so much.

Ben Harper after his show at the Tennessee Theater last September... he was extremely humble and thanked us for coming to the show and making his music what it is... Meg White after her and Jack played a small bar in Nashville last year - she was really sweet too, took a pic w/us Bobby "Blue" Bland (blues icon)... he played a small bar in Huntsville and we sat down with him for about 20 minutes for an interview for our new podcast.... he was really cool, very patient with us being interview noobs and gave the hubby singing lessons... def classic

Haven't really met many big time famous folks, mostly musicians...
Dennis Franz - (NYPD Blue actor) met at a baseball game, very nice guy Rita Rudner - met after her show in Vegas on my birthday, got a picture somewhere Chris Paul - (N.O. Hornets) he and my daughter went to high school together. His folks still live in our neighborhood. (my son punched out his older brother CJ...) Bart Conner - (olympic gymnist) met at hotel in Bahamas
Got to talk, more a simple hello, with - all of Leftover Salmon all of Great American Taxi (had drinks with Jake and Jefferson before show) all of Umphree's McGee (also my daughter waited on them in Boone,NC - good tippers) Col. Bruce Hampton (funny guy, met him a couple of times) Dave Schools (he was toasted after downing several shots during set) Jerry Joseph (he's wound a little tight) all of Particle all of Rusted Root all of Southern Culture on the Skids (hands down the friendliest band, don't drink shots w/ Mary) Patterson Hood (Drive-By Truckers) Oteil Burbridge (Allman Brothers) Keller Williams all of Rose Hill Drive
and once while hanging around before a show in Rochester, NY with couple of friends, this big white limo pulls up to the side entrance where we were standing and out pops Jerry Garcia about twenty feet from us. All I could stamer out was "Hey Jerry!", got a four-and-a-half finger wave back and he was gone...

i also met, the whole band from fuel (toryn green;lead singer, carl bell; guitar, tommy stewart; drums (he also played for godsmack), and ronnie paige) i met john lecompt and his new band machina (they are in the works of a record deal now and he used to play with evanescence) and i met the entire band from revelation theory
There's no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard. No song that I could sing. But I can try for your heart Our dreams, and they are made out of real things Like a, shoebox of photographs With sepiatone loving Love is the answer
A little feeling in my gut that I get of late when I think about these cats running the world with hate
i've met a few different people but the only ones that made my day were boyd coddington, carroll shelby and jimmy buffett...(i'm a car freak and a parrothead) i work at margaritaville and jimmy always comes in when he's in town for a concert so i wore that ridiculous hat to wait tables in all day... ;D
Cool. I'm still kicking myself for missing their "with strings" tour about five years back. When are they finally gonna play Roo? Because they totally should.
Yeah, that show came as close as Chicago (150 miles away from here) about three days after I returned from Bonnaroo that year, so I couldn't swing the time off or the money for it. I've seen the more rock-oriented show 3x, but I can only imagine how great the strings arrangement would've been.
So anyway, when I met E it was outside the venue by his bus after the first time I saw them. I was with my Australian friend and she was in the line ahead of me. As soon as he heard her speak, he asked "What are you, British?" (I should note that she hates being mistaken for a Brit.) But she was polite about it and explained that she's an Aussie. He took it another step and said "Tie me kangaroo down, sport" - apparently an obscure reference to a crappy Aussie pop (kids?) song*. Politeness went out the window at this point. Her response was "Bite me!" It was into this context that I, the last one waiting, got to talk to E. Kinda awkward, but I liked his style.
