You don't mind them owning our politicians...literally? We do whatever Israel wants because our entire government is on their payroll, most from the more than $2 billion in economic and military aid we give them every year. Not to mention the fact that the whole reason we have this current problem with islamic terrorism all stems from Israel. They don't hate our "ways," they don't hate our democracy, they hate our unrelenting support for Israel and our presence on Arab lands - which is a consequence of us being Israel's lapdogs.

I mind. I mind a whole lot. Israel can handle itself, there's no reason we should even be getting in the middle of it.

And I've been thru Turkey, it's not nearly as bad as you're trying to make it out to be. Though a lot of places there do seem to smell pretty bad.

we will never stop supporting Israel ever.....if the Arabs hate JEws that's there problem they are the racist....The U.S. stands up for people although if it wasn't for the U.S. holding Israel back I suspect the entire middle east would be blown to shit.....

Actually, it becomes our problem too, as evidenced by the current of the world today and our own foreign policy. And don't kid yourself, Israel isn't "doing our dirty work," it's the other way around.

And yeah, anyone in our government who has any real power to influence US foreign policy has already been bought off by AIPAC. They wouldn't allow anyone who wasn't "sympathetic" to Israel to get elected in the first place.

And have you ever stopped to think about just why we support Israel so much? Honestly, why do we? I hear all the time that Israel is one of our closest allies - allies are supposed to help each other out, what have they ever done for us? I know they attacked one of our intelligence ships back during the 6 day war. I know they had full previous knowledge of the attack on the Marine Barracks in Beirut in 1983 that killed 241 US servicemen (one of them being my own father) but didn't tell us because they wanted us and the French out of Lebanon so they could have free reign of the place and operate without any restriction. I remember when asked about what the 9-11 attacks meant for the US and Israel, the first words out of PM Benjamin Netanyahu's mouth were "It's very good."

I'll ask you again. Why are we such strong "allies?"

The attack on the barracks in beirut was that Bush's fault? This crap has been going on a long time and Bush is the only leader in the U.S. to take a stand and say enough is enough. u may not like the way he has conducted the war but atleast he took a stand unlike other U.S. presidents we had in the past. I find it difficult to believe Israel wanted us to get blown up.

the real question isn't why are we allies with Israel.? It should be why are we allies with france and germany after all that B.s.

If u think an arms race is bad now how about if we never went into Iraq...with Iran flat out stating they want a nuke and u can't stop us don't u think sadaam would have done everything in his power to get a nuke as well. The way it is now Iraq is no where near getting a nuke and for the U.S/ that is a damm good thing......

Bush never threatened the middle east the middle east has been threating the world for a long time..beirut in 83 Bush was not around....94 world trade center no bush!! bombing of the uss cole...no bush ......attack on the embassy in kenya ..no bush.....kidnapping of americans by iran in the 70's ...no bush ......

How easily the past is forgotten....this is way bigger than bush been around way before bush but guess what the terrorist don't like bush and that is a real good thing

Israel doesn't want us to be blown up. They want us to do their dirty work for them. and Extreemist Christian conservatives support Israel because of the bible. we all know Jesus can't have His Second Coming unless the children of God control the Holy Land.
