It'd be nice if you could back up some of your "views" with fact instead of just shooting off at the mouth with whatever you heard on your favorite right wing nutjob radio program today.
EDIT: and we slam Bush because he has one of the worst approval ratings in all of history. I guess you are a part of that 27%. Congrats.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
I think I am the only person on this board that doesn't slamm bush for days......
You arent alone, but I pick my battles, and when I speak, I sound intelligent (because I am!), I dont call people names, or resort to any sort of childish tactic. I LISTEN to the people I am "debating" with, and I offer my opinion and back it up with whatever facts I have. I dont spew talking points, I speak from my heart.
There are 2 things people always tell me at the end of a discussion or debate. 1- I truly listened to every word they had to say no matter what, and 2- I truly believe everything I had to say, its not something that somebody told me to think.
If you really want people to actually listen to your opinion and what you have to say, you need to seriously tweak your delivery.
"They won't break me because the desire for freedom, and the freedom of the Irish people, is in my heart. The day will dawn when all the people of Ireland will have the desire for freedom to show. It is then that we will see the rising of the moon."

There are people on this board that support bush and are very well-liked. The two can go hand-in-hand, chicagodude. Work on your delivery and I'm sure you will see better reception, probably.

Very well put man, this is the type of person I like to have a debate with.

true my delivery may suck...most who support bush on this board just stay out of politics ...me I jump right in.....all I see is left wing extremist talking points ...and rush and coulter aren't nutjobs but are very biased toward the left but not nutjobs like michael moore
Well thank you. Im sure at some point I wasnt the way I am now, I am very opinionated after all and can be stubborn at times. But when I realized that so many people that I admire and respect, people who are very intelligent and well informed, have a different point of view then me, well there must be something to that. There must be some merit to both sides if 2 equally educated people, who are friends and share alot in common can have such opposite view points. I can disagree with somebody all day and all night long, but at the end of it all I will buy them (another) beer and give them a hug.
If you actually listen to people, no matter what we all want a better way of life, we dont all agree on how to get there, but for the most part we can look past our subtle differences and see the quality within.
Follow me chicagoroo I will guide you and teach you the proper way to use the force.

But if you change your delivery, you just might find intelligent conversation instead of what's going on now. Just sayin'. Make it easier on yourself...not harder.
"So they gave him control of a nuclear submarine, and sent him back in search of the garden of Eden.
Can't you see ? It all makes perfect sense ? Expressed in dollars and cents, pounds, shillings and pence. It all makes perfect sense !"
Karma(when i can give it) for quoting one of my top ten favorite albums of all time !
And the monkey IS confused !?!?!?!?
ha! I typed that this morning as I was walking out the door, and I was singing the whole album all day at work! One of my all-time favorites too.
edit: for those that don't know what we're talking about: - the album is 'Amused to Death'. Pick it up!!! The music is as phenominal as you would expect a Waters album to be, but the lyrics - whoa! - still so poignantly relevant today.
Jesus christ. Need I even shoot down everything chicago has said? No. I could write a thesis right now with cited sources. But instead I'll look at his -115 karma and exhale.

And I'd rather converse/debate with a person like this than preach to the choir. There's more to be gained from mutual respect coupled with differing(yet well supported) opinions. Someone who acknowleges that listening is every bit as important as talking. When someone is just a mouthpiece, it's apparent quite often, that they spew what they do so haphazardly in an attempt to find acceptance. This is a heart ruled by fear, and afraid to grow.
And it lashes out from said fear by calling names, accusing trusted souls of lying, and generally creating tantrum induced havoc.
Come into the light offered by Fenian.....
And then smack him in da noodle for being a rightwinger...

i agree with ya. but we did lose a few hundered thousand people to kepp them from being wiped out. it would have been silly to save them from hitler an then feed them to the arabs. although putting israel in germany would have been logical and solved alot of this. and im sure they will "help" when it comes time to attack iran or just flat take over the middle east. israel is basically a second us army based in the middle east. and i havent heard about netanyahus comments sayin it was good. but for israel it was good. it meant bush could execute his ridiculous plan to invade iraq and threaten the rest of the middle east. and that opened the door for israel to run wild in lebanon. its all been planned. our world leaders are scary individuals. they are manipulating the world through violence in the name of profits and power. and bush is a religous fanatic. he believes in the coming apocalypse and that jesus will be born again when his followers create the right conditions on earth. being friendly with israel and invading the middle east plays right into both of those ridiculous dillusions. plus dosent the bible tell christians that those who protect the jews will be rewarded and protected by god?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that we should have let them all die at the hands of a madman, not at all. And I'm not one of those people who just hate Jews and go around blaming Israel for everything, so I hope no one has gotten that impression.
I completely understand why we gave so much to the Israeli state in their early days, they needed to get on their feet and now they have. They've been on their feet for quite a long time now, but we're still giving them billions and billions in handouts every year, and it makes no sense because our "alliance" has been just a bit less than symbiotic.
And you're right that 9-11 was good for Israel, and that's exactly what Netanyahu meant I'm sure. But that's the thing that bothered me, those were his first thoughts and the first words out of his mouth. Not sympathy, not condemnation, just "hey, good for us." And Bush, as goofy as he is, is just a puppet. He's not this evil madman people want to make him out to be, he's just doing what his puppeteers want him to. The Iraqi invasion was never Bush's plan, it was Israels. We've been doing their dirty work for years now, and it's time we put a stop to it.
chicago if you walk in a mathematics disussion and claim 10 + 10 = 4,736 people are going to call you a moron. its not because you have a different opinion it because your 100 percent wrong 100 percent of the time. and if you say that the bible tells you 10 + 10 = 4,736 then they are going to call you a religious extremist too. and if you say oh so now its bushs fault that 10 + 10 = 20 and who are we gonna blame when hes gone then it makes people think your straight insane.
but i say to my fellow inforooers lets take pity on those less fortunate then us. just let this dude have his "opinions" and ignore him. maybe then this troll will crawl back under his bridge. its obvious he dosent have the mental capacity to get a firm grasp on reality we cant expect him to hold an intelligent conversation. too bad bush didnt come along with is awesome education policy decades ago or this poor soul might have been helped.
