Just thought about this while I was in the gas station.....
Most cigarette boxes are either red or green which are complementary colors, that I believe are the most eye catching.
Why is it every time I go to the gas station and pay for things I am barraged by these bright reminders? Grrr. Caffeine tends to make me want to smoke.
PS 37 days!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Thinking of that washed my caffeine/ nicotine craving right away!! ;D

Just came back to reality after a weekend in the wilderness. Didn't bring a single cig with me for the whole weekend. I don't even keep track of days anymore though.
Welcome back, strumn. If you're not counting the days any more, you must be fully a non smoker now. One of the best things to help out with quitting, I think is to totally change up all your routines. And boy did your change your routines!

Good job on 20 days Mike!
I stopped counting days only because I found myself easily thinking "Man i haven't had a cig in ___ days, so one wouldn't hurt" and I just wanted to get myself away from thinking that.

^^That's sweet the money you've saved! Honestly, I haven't noticed that I have any more money than usual, but then again... I've been buying lots of other... stuff... lately. ;D

Here's my take on this. All my coworkers get a bunch of 5 minute smoke breaks throughout the day to get their nicotine fix. Since I don't need that nicotine fix, I just combine my normal 3 or 4 breaks together and have my own smoke break in my car. Helps work go by so much faster.

hooray for mike!
Went out to dinner last night and asked if I wanted smoking or non, and just out of habit I said smoking, then I took a few steps and realized and said "wait. i meant non-smoking."

Haha, Virginia grows lots of tobacco. All hell will break loose when they try and take it away. One restaurant nearby actually went non-smoking and then within 3 weeks went out of business. it was nuts.

I am so proud of you guys for trying to quit! My grandma is dying from smoking-related complications, so I am glad that you guys are being smart and making a healthy decision. Keep it up!

^^Trust me, I know that feeling. I also caved in last week and not only did I buy a pack, I smoked that entire pack within 3 hours and went and bought another one and smoked that before the end of the night as well. It's perfectly fine to have setbacks, the important thing is you realize that's all it was, just a setback. Not the end. My suggestion is if you haven't finished the pack yet, throw it away. Waste of money, perhaps... but the temptation is just unneccessary to have an open pack of smokes lyin around while quitting.
Sorry to hear you had a sad night, but things will always get better.
