I'm with you, dude! We should be in the streets! The government should have a healthy fear of the people. Do they look like the fear us? They don't even respect us. They barely acknowledge us. We revolted against King George III for less abuse of power than this. It's time to DEMAND our voice.
Warning: This might require you to DVR an episode of Big Brother!
I love that we've gotten Meg into a political thread!

"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it."
There is a movement started by The Young Turks where they go out each Sunday at noon and hold a sign, t-shirt, whatever saying "ENOUGH!". It started 2 weeks ago in LA and last week there were 35 cities. They stand at federal buildings, politicians offices, intersections. They do not support candidates, parties, or even specific issues. It's just a mild threat to say everyone has had enough of this sh#t from all parties and we will only take so much.
Probably meaningless but it's a start. I like it's generic simplicity and nonpartisanship. A link is

if everyone was fed, educated, had medical care, and werent opressed by some corrupt regime that the united states keeps in power for profits i dont think that they would be strapping bombs to themselves or flying planes into buildings. ive never heard a terrorist organization say that they will continue to suicide bomb us because we eat red meat and allow woman to have rights. they attack us because we f**k with them. as far as iraq we should secure the kurdish areas as they have actually helped us and then let the rest of them fight it out. they were better off with saddam then they are with us and our puppet government.
sure there are extremists everywhere. have you been to a wedding lately at a church here in america? woman were made from the rib of man and they must honor and obey man no matter what. screw eve. they need to bring back lilith. most people call themselves christians and belive all the rib crap and know nothing of lilith. christians bomb abortion clinics and federal buildings. and yet we dont label all christians as terrorists. hell we dont even label them as extremists. why do we do it with islam? religion was created for profits and to control the masses of simple minded people who have never had an original thought. and then they use the control and power they have to make laws to oppress all of the free thinking people who see past the bs. and i dont know what your point is about signing the national anthem. ??? i assume you mean singing the pledge of allegiance which should be stopped. we are not 1 nation under god. and noone should be forced to say it at a public school that they pay for. the god stuff wasnt even in the original pledge of allegiance. it was added in by religous extremists. dems or repubs dosent matter. its a one party system and all this nonsense is there to distract us from that fact and all of the evil things our govewrnment does around the world and here at home. i love my country but i am disgusted by our government. its time for a revoloution. and voting in a corrupt one party system is no revoloution. the irs is so over worked as is. i know dozens of people that havent filed or payed txes in years and years and they never come after them, if our elected officials wont cut off fundingfor this ridiculous war in iraq and this crazy war on drugs the we should all quit paying taxes and end it.

nobody right, nobody wrong!!!
Well put, dude! You never cease to surprise me.
Of course, it is just easier for guys like Chicago to abandon a reasonable argument and keep repeating the mantras of a retarded son of a texas oilman and his gang of cronies. "They hate us because of our freedom" has to win the award for most circular argumet of the decade.

Pot. Kettle. Black.
I think a lot of it is apathy. People are too lazy to research anything so they believe everything they are told, or they just don't care. Look at college campuses, for example. 40 years ago students would be rioting in the streets, these days they just want to know where the keg party is and how soon they could graduate. My generation makes me sad

I find it quite hard to follow your train of thought sometimes. It's hard to understand what you are saying.

Don't be sad Jessica ;D. The main difference between the activism now and the activism during the Vietnam War has to do with one thing: A military draft. Now, I am not advocating the reinstitution of the draft, but I will say that the absence of a draft makes one's ability to blow off the entire thing as "unimportant" much easier.

Wait... Meg... you're a C#*&%#@!*$&!??!
We can't be friends anymore, I'm sorry.
Just kidding. I still love you. Except on voting day, then I might try and keep you distracted on here long enough to where you'll forget to vote ;D
Frankly, I respect someone calling themselves a Conservative or Liberal more than someone who identifies themselves as Republican or Democrat; that just smacks too much of "my party, right or wrong".

if they are going to run healt care like they run the war in iraq, fema, or our education system then im against them running it. they are miserable faliures at everything they do aside from lining their own pockets. i think we should turn it all over to an 8th grade social studies class. im sure they would do a much better job of running the world.
have you ever heard of accountability?? do you really think these people kill themselves to attack us because we eat red meat, have womans rights, and they just plain hate freedom?? talk about the same old tired talking points. thats avoiding accountability to the extreme. and even if your reasoning was valid in any way and they just hate our way of life, how are we any better when we are trying to impose our way of life upon the whole world through violence in the name of peace, freedom, and democracy?
